Chapter 9: Boyfriends

Chapter Text

Everyone expected Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja to be boyfriends after that weekend date. Even Shin Yoosung and Lee Gilyoung expected that Joonghyuk would be outside their house that monday morning, waiting for their big brother. So it all came as a shock to them when Kim Dokja arrived at school alone with no Yoo Joonghyuk beside, or behind, him.

And so, when Joonghyuk arrives to their monthly student council meeting thirty minutes before their meeting starts, Lee Seolhwa quickly glares at him as she approached him. Behind her are Lee Hyunsung and Jung Heewon, also frowning.

"Did you do something wrong? Did you ruin your date?" Heewon quickly asks him. Joonghyuk knits his eyebrows in confusion.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" he asks, irritation obvious in his voice. The three looked at each other for a brief moment before turning to Yoo Joonghyuk again. This time they aren't just glaring at him, their eyes are shooting daggers at him as if trying to bury him six feet deep with just their stares.

Lee Seolhwa speaks up first. "Dokja-ssi arrived at school before you this morning. Alone. What do you have to say to that?"

Joonghyuk rolls his eyes as he realizes what all this is about. "That's it? That's why you've been trying to kill me with your stares ever since I entered the council room?" he asks.

Heewon was quick to flick his forehead. "What are you saying that's it? Why didn't you fetch Dokja-ssi from their home so that you two can go to school together? Judging by your personality, if you two became boyfriends last saturday, you would be fetching him to and from school. What happened?"

"I shouldn't be explaining what happened to all of you, but for the sake of your peace of mind, I'll tell you. Of course we're together now. He just told me not to fetch him from his house today because he's shy and really nervous. But he also assured me that we would go home together," Joonghyuk said. The three sighed deeply and looked relieved.

"Are you satisfied now?" Joonghyuk asked as he reached for the papers atop his desk. Heewon nodded at him. He raised his eyebrow and added, "If so, then let's start the meeting. You disrupted our council meeting."

The three simultaneously rolled their eyes but they still sat on their respective seats and prepared for the meeting.

After about 30 minutes, the student council wrapped up and Joonghyuk dismissed them.

They all stood up and left, but since the council room looked messy, Joonghyuk offered to stay behind and clean up a little. The chairs were all over the area and there are project proposals found on every table inside the room.

He started piling the chairs up and as he's in the middle of moving it to the far side of the room, beside the window, he heard the door open.

"Joonghyuk-ah?" a gentle voice called out.

Joonghyuk glanced up and he met Dokja's eyes. His gaze softened at the sight of his boyfriend. Dokja's hair was all messy from a whole day in school, but his eyes were shining brightly and he has a bright smile plastered across his face.

"You're beautiful," Joonghyuk said out loud. And he didn't regret it because he got to see Dokja blush, the sunlight hitting his pretty face.

"Stop it," Dokja replied shyly. His face a bright red color, his eyes are looking at everywhere except for Joonghyuk's eyes. Yoo Joonghyuk chuckled. His boyfriend can really be flustered easily.

"I'm saying the truth. Uh, by the way, would you mind waiting for me for just a little bit? I'll just finish up here."

Dokja finally met his eyes and shook his head with a smile. "I won't mind, take your time. Do you need any help by the way?"

Joonghyuk's gaze softened even more. What great thing did he even do to be with an angel like Dokja?

"No, I'll be done in a minute," he replied with a smile. Dokja then nodded and leaned on the wall, watching him arrange the paperworks by their dates.

And like he said, finish it in a minute he did. After Joonghyuk looked around, making sure that everything is in order, he looked at Dokja. "Let's go?"

Dokja nodded once again and smiled. "Let's go home, Joonghyuk-ah."

They both exited the council room and walked towards the school gates together. While waiting for the bus, Joonghyuk felt Dokja reaching for his hand.

"Do you want to hold hands?" he asked the raven.

Dokja gasped. "Oh, no, I..." he trailed off as he struggled to find an excuse for reaching for Joonghyuk's hand.

"You don't have to be embarrased, Dokja-yah. Just hold my hand whenever you want," he answered. Dokja looked at him, his eyes shining even brighter. Joonghyuk can literally see stars in his eyes, and he thought they were one of the most beautiful things he had ever laid his eyes on.

"Really?" Dokja questioned in assurance.

"Of course," Joonghyuk answered and he reached for Dokja's hand himself. Because they were boyfriends. And he can.

"Dokja, can I kiss you?" he asked straightforwardly, bringing Dokja's hand to his lips and kissing his fingers. Dokja blushed again.

"I, I mean... If you want to?"

Joonghyuk chuckled. "Why are you asking?"

"It's just embarrassing," Dokja replies as he refused to meet his eyes.

"Dokja-yah, look at me..."

And Dokja did. He raised his head and looked at Joonghyuk. Joonghyuk smiled as he caressed Dokja's cheek with his free hand. He held it tenderly before leaning in and claiming Dokja's lips.

It was soft, and sweet, and he can almost get addicted to the feeling of Dokja's soft lips against his. And Dokja answered his kisses. He opened his mouth and let Joonghyuk's tongue invade inside, tasting him. Kim Dokja melted against Yoo Joonghyuk as he wrapped his arms around Joonghyuk's neck.

"You're perfect. You feel like home..." Yoo Joonghyuk whispered against Dokja's lips as they broke apart, both of them gasping for air.

Dokja smiled, his eyes remaining close. "You too, Joonghyuk-ah. You feel like home."
