Chapter Text

“We can’t stay here and figure out whatever the fuck that was.” Jesse yelled as another crash and boom sounded somewhere off in the building.

“Is there a better place for us to hide!” Liza asked as she ran up to Alison. The vampire glanced towards the door the group had entered from and nodded before rushing over to a large dark wooden door. She tried the handle, finding it locked, before Alison took a step back and quickly kicked the door in, the door buckled a bit. Alison growled before slamming her foot into it again this time the lock door cracked and swung open. Tyler and Alex were sliding under Joey’s arms, hauling the man up on his feet before the group rushed into the room. Pushing the door closed, DeStorm, Jesse, and Liza raced over to the massive wooden desk starting to push it across the room.

“Wait a second, wait a second.” Lauren called as the three froze as the woman started digging through the desk drawers digging around for anything. It took a few minutes, but she eventually dropped a few piles of paperwork on the desk and walked away with a pair of scissors, a knife and a lighter. She set to work cutting off layers of fabric of her dress as the others started making adjustments to their attire as well. DeStorm, Jesse, and Liza finally got the desk into position in front of the door.

“Okay, so now what. We just fuck around until we figure out a next step of action.” Gabbie stated as she ripped at her sleeves. Liza was pulling off her jacket throwing it on the ground as DeStorm tossed off his jacket and hat as well, everyone was getting down to lighter clothing. It didn’t matter at this point, they just needed to be able to move and be able to move fast.

“There is the possibility that the sorceress summoned someone.” Alison replied as everyone stared at her.

“What do you mean summoned someone?” Tyler questioned as the vampire hesitated.

“So, the sorceress has been forming an army. Like I said earlier we have the lieutenants that are going to be helping her move into the future, she must have felt the map.” Alison informed as everyone groaned.

“Okay, so now what? We just sit here and wait for them to come for us.” Gabbie stated as everyone sort of trudged around the room.

“Do you know the lieutenants?” Liza asked. Alison thought for a few moments trying to remember their names.

“I know a few of them… why?” Alison questioned.

“If we need to get these gems then we have to figure out a plan for each of them and if we know a bit about them, we might be able to fight them properly.” Liza pointed out.

“There are a few, I know three for certain. There is Jorogumo, she is a spider goddess. She has two female followers that lure the men into her web.”

“Fuck, I hate spiders.” Lauren groaned as she finished cutting off the last layer of her dress. It was a bit of a mess now, but she could move easily in it, having cut it short enough to run in and removing all the items and stuff she didn’t need. Her shoes were coming off next as Alison took a deep breath before thinking for a few moments.

“Then you have Cash. He is a confederate soldier who has been fighting against the Dark Army for centuries.” Alison informed.

“Dark army?” Tyler whispered as Jesse shook his head a bit, uncertain about the whole thing.

“Then there is the gingerbread woman and her assistant. Unfortunately, that is all I remember of the lieutenants.” Alison admitted as silence fell over the group.

“Okay, so that's… intense…” Alex grumbled as he looked at all of his friends.

“Wait guys, if there are three lieutenants that we do know of, we could split into groups of three and go deal with them.” Tana suggested.

“What about Joey?” Liza asked. The group's attention turned to Joey who was settled deep into the couch, dozing in and out of consciousness.

“I… we… you’re right… what are we going to do?” Jesse responded as they all started whispering amongst themselves.

“Someone needs to stay with him, I mean… he recharged that gem. If something happens…” Gabbie pointed out.

“Okay, then who stays behind?” DeStorm asked.

“I can.” Alison stated, as Liza snorted before moving towards the vampire.

“Like hell I will allow you to stay here with him. I’d rather get bled out by the rest of your gang.” Liza snapped as Tana stepped forward grabbing the woman’s arm dragging her backwards towards the group. “I’ll stay behind.” Liza responded as everyone glanced around.

“Are you certain?”

“Yes. Now, we have to figure out exactly who is going where.” Gabbie stated.

“We have three lieutenants, we have Jorogumo, a spider woman who eats men. So probably no men.” Liza stated as she glanced towards Tana and Gabbie.

“Okay, Lauren you with us?”

“Of course, I’m with you. Like hell I’m letting you two do this alone.”

“Lauren, what if I want you to come with me?” Alex asked.

“We can’t be unfocused on this, Alex. We can’t afford to be distracted by looking after one another.” Lauren pointed out. “Go with DeStorm and Jesse to deal with Cash to get the gem.”

“So, what do we have to go fight in a war?” Jesse questioned as the other two men shrugged.

“Alison, can you help us with the gingerbread woman?” Tyler asked as Andrea stepped up behind him, the woman’s eyes darting over the vampire. Alison was hesitant for a few moments, her eyes flickering towards the rest of the group.

“You want me to join you?” Alison asked.

“Three people would make it easier.” Tyler admitted as Andrea gave a small nod.

“Okay,” Alison muttered as she glanced towards Liza and Joey. “We have a lot of work to do.”
