Chapter Text
Y/n's POV:
Life could've never prepared me for this moment. At a certain point it seemed like I would never have found a family who loves me yet here I am with Nancy (My worker) at THE Bruce Wayne's doorstep. Being petrified doesn't even begin to start with how I feel.
Nancy tries to comfort me saying that it'll be fine but this can go wrong so easily. Bruce Wayne control practically all of Gotham and if I screw this up, well, my life's over then. No pressure at all... "Now don't look so nervous Y/n. If you do, you'll show weakness and you do not want to do that in front of a socialite like Mr. Wayne," Nancy warns, lightly hitting my shoulder with her folder.
I wince at the action, but stand straight up as I can with my little teddy bear in my arms. I've had him since I was born and I can't imagine a world without it. Right, no fear in the eyes. With a wrinkle of my nose, I wipe all the fear off my face with a "mask" as I was taught. It's the only way you'll be picked as a 5 year old child this young is what I'm told.
The door opens to a man in a black suit with an amazing mustache, and i cant help but stare in absolute awe. "Your mustache is so pretty-" I blurt out, not realizing I said it out loud. I slap a hand onto my mouth and look up in horror at what I just did, expecting some insults but none came. Instead, I hearty chuckle sounds and the man leans down to my level and holds out his hand.
"You must be miss Y/n, a pleasure to meet you. I'm Alfred Pennyworth, the manor's butler," Alfred starts as I gently but firmly shake his hand, "And thank you for the compliment. I take much pride in keeping my mustache in tip top shape."
A smile flourishes on my face as he stands back up, but a cough makes me stand back straight. "Here are the documents we discussed as of earlier. Everything is signed and ready to go. Y/n shall we go get your bags?" I nod and follow her to the car to grab my small backpack as she grabs my suitcase.
With a little pep in my step, I make my way back up to the house to find another man standing up by the door. He's taller than Mr. Pennyworth with black hair and blue eyes that are really pretty in my opinion. But I can't voice that because I can practically feel Nancy's hard gaze on me from earlier's comment. I get where she's coming from though, it could look bad on her record as a worker.
The man with blue eyes walks out of the doorway and makes his way over with a large smile, practically beaming like the sun. He stops in front of me and crouches down to my height and holds out his hand. "Hey Kiddo. I'm Dick, but you can call me handsome, or big brother works to," He says, winking at the end as he tosses his 'hair' dramatically as I shake his hand.
"Nice to meet you Dick," I respond, taking a teeny step back as I clutch my teddy bear. He's got a lot of energy for a grown man.
Dick seems to understand my hesitance so he stands back up and moves back. I look back up to Nancy to see what's next and she seems to get the idea as she rolls my bag over next to me. "Well Y/n you are now in their hands," she says as she bends down to my height and pulls me close. She then begins to whisper something that haunts me, "You better behave for your new family. If you don't, you might go missing and no one will find you."
With that, she stands up with a smile and waves goodbye before walking away to the car. To say that scared me was an understatement because my feet feel as if they're in concrete. Dick saw right through my terror and slowly walks over and holds out his hand. "Do you want to walk in together?"
I can only nod as I take his hand as we make our way inside, but not before Mr. Pennyworth decides to take my suitcase from me. Now I knew that the Wayne's had money but this was amazing!
"Wow," I gasp, before closing my mouth and hiding in my teddy. Dick only laughs and nods as we make our way up the stairs. The place is simple but very nice. I glance up at Dick to find he's looking down at me. Jaw to the floor moment has arrived. Guess I should just ask the question.
"Dick?" I ask, glancing away from him as we continue to what I guess is my room. He squeezes my hand as a response that he's listening so I go on. "How many brothers live here?"
When we reach the door, he opens it with a smile and practically runs in to open his arms wide and present the scene. A large queen size bed sits in the middle with a dresser, and a really big shelf with pretty books. I shrug my bag off my shoulders and set it down by my bed before I feel that I'm being watched. I turn back to the door to find not one but three guys staring at me from the doorway.
The tallest had a fluffy white streak in his hair and a comfy looking leather jacket. The middle one had black hair and really blue eyes like Dick as he holds a mug with a death grip. Hope it's hot chocolate in there. Lastly stands a boy with black hair (again) with dark green eyes. He seems scary though, so I slowly hide more and more in my teddy.
"Why is their a pipsqueak in here with a teddy bear?" The green eyed boy asks, rolling his eyes with disgust.
That just started a lot of yelling. The one with the white hair had almost strangled the green eyes while the other just cradled his mug. Safe to say this family is going to be weird. Little did I know these guys would be my number one supporters in life. And Bruce of course, but his meeting was a bit of a shock for him.
~BRUCE'S INTRODUCTION~
"Master Bruce, I do believe the child is ready to meet you," Mr. Pennyworth says, walking back into the dinning room where everyone is sitting. Since I'm too small for the chairs, the boys had me sit in Dick's lap to even see above the table. I didn't mind though, it was nice seeing everyone easier and Dick was a soft pillow to lean into.
Footsteps ring out causing us to all turn our heads to find Mr. Wayne walking through the doorway but stops the minute he locks eyes with me. Petrified can't even describe how I feel as I watch him almost study me from his gaze. He turns to Alfred and looks to be communicating with just a look. SUPERPOWERS.
I turn to Dick and whisper, "Do they have superpowers to communicate in their mind?" He just laughs at my question and it seems the boys heard it to because they begin to die of laughter. A pout forms on my face as they laugh but I don't think it's funny. The adults are having a conversation without words...that's A SUPERPOWER!
"Mr. Wayne?" I ask, still having a pout on my face, "Can you both talk in your minds like a superpower?"
Everyone turns towards me with differing faces of confusion, amusement, and astonishment. But Mr. Wayne bursts out laughing. Seems he doesn't like to laugh much because all of the boys look at him like he's an alien. I don't think he's an alien for laughing though...
He wipes his tears and answers me softly with, "no we aren't, it's a skill we learned. And secondly, just call me Bruce."
Turns out he laughs a lot more than he lets on.
~END OF BRUCE'S INTRODUCTION~
~QUEUE TIME SKIP TO Y/N BEING 17 BROUGHT TO YOU BY ALFRED'S COOKIES~
"Y/n you got everything you need for this week?" Jason calls out, opening the door, taking one look, and nodding at the scene before him.
I grin up at him from my book, untangling my legs from my blanket and maneuver out of my contorted position. "You ask me this everytime you guys go on long missions. I told you I'm fine here with Alfred, Jason. I'm not some little kid anymore."
Jason puts his hands up in defeat with a laugh before giving the bird and walking out, but not before I return it with an eyeroll. All these years with these guys and they don't trust that I can last without them. I mean I get it because I've burnt water before (IYKYK) but that was one time for fun...
But little do they all know that I have a tiny secret. Trying to go back to my book is absolutely impossible as the chatter gets louder and louder downstairs. Too curious, I put my book down with a huff and walk downstairs to find the boys going over the plans at the kitchen table. Weird.
"Why are you guys going over the plan in the kitchen without dad? What are you planning?" I ask, crossing my arms.
Guilty faces all around of course. I wouldn't expect anything less of my brothers. With a huff, I push my way through there huddle to see the damage and it's quite...extensive. "Wow. Yeah, good luck trying to pull that off. Better keep me updated so I can see just how long it took y'all's plan to go up in flames."
"It won't go up in flames L/n, it's foolproof," Damian says, sticking his nose up in the air. Yet I can only roll my eyes at that.
"Whatever floats your boat kiddo," I laugh, which gets me a glare in return and a screech of 'I am not a kid'.
Before I can fight back properly, Alfred comes up saying it's time for them to head out. Some sort of goodbye gesture is given briefly before leaving quickly, leaving me alone in the kitchen. However, not even an hour goes by into my newfound silence and freedom my comm starts to go off.
Guess crime can never wait maybe one day. With a sigh, I sprint down to the batcave and grab my suit from a secret hollow floorboard on the deck. "Alfred! Patch me to Babs so she can help me out!"
Finally yanking the suit on and perfecting the mask, I grab my comm and press a new button to reveal my fancy black bike. Oh how I love being S/N. I've even earned that name on the news and the boys suspect nothing. Zooming out of the cave, I put Alfred on the call and soon Babs appears right next to him.
"Hey kiddo, how have you been?" She asks, waving into the camera as she begins opening all of the computers in the clock tower.
I give her a goofy smile before turning back to the road as I answer. "Doing good even though your fiance is going to drive me up the wall with all of his worrying about being gone."
Babs just laughs in return but its cut short with a gasp. "Y/n do not go to that location do you understand?" That's not normal for her.
"Why wouldn't I- oh what the fu-" My voice gets cut off by a huge explosion from the abandoned building I just so happened to pull up to.
The force of the explosion hits me head on, practically hurtling me in the air. Chunks of the building go flying everywhere as I crash hard to the ground and my vision goes blurry. My ears ring so loud I can't hear anything. My eyes flutter more and more as the struggle to stay awake is increasingly more difficult. I try to move my body but the best thing I can do is bring me up to my elbows as they hold my weight. The world spins vigorously making me groan in pain.
"Well, what do we have here?" Someone calls out as footsteps get closer and closer, "Ah, the new vigilante S/N. I'm afraid your going to have to come with me my dear."
Hands roughly pick me up from the ground and carry me bridal style but the blunt force to the head from the explosion is brutal. With a final groan, I let the darkness take over me as my body goes limp.
~2 weeks later~ (3RD POV)
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T FIND HER?!?" "I'M GOING TO MURDER GORDON!" "Knew we should've brought her with us..." "I need more coffee."
Absolute chaos in the Wayne manor as the vigilantes come back home to find their youngest sister gone. To say the boys are ready to commit murder is an understatement. Sweet Y/n was the glue to all of them so without her, well, it's only minutes before someone blows a fuse. And that's NOT going to be pretty.
Before anyone can reach there bikes to drive off and find answers, a call rings out through the cave. Barbara Gordon, Aka Oracle. As Bruce accepts the call, a disheveled Babs shows up looking like she's lived in actual hell. Dark bags hang under her eyes and her hair is a horror show.
"I don't want to hear a single word from any of you until I say my piece. I know it's my fault for not stopping her on the call but I got a lead. Also you might not like the secret she's got but you'll figure it out sooner or later. I finally got a location on her, but I don't know if the signal's a trap or not," Babs explains, running her hands through her hair as she talks, "It's close by so I'm really questioning it's authenticity but we don't have time. Head down to this location and don't screw it up. She's counting on you."
All the boys look at each other with the same idea. No one's escaping that building alive that's laid a single hand on her. "Hey! Don't just stand there, go!" Without missing a beat, all of the boys race to their bikes and are off for the drive.
Y/n's POV:
From all the horror stories the boys have shared about being captive, this would have never been outmatched by theirs.
I feel as if I'm a puppet in my own body, screaming for help but all I get is hollow, empty, black void screaming back. My body has been pushed past its limits so much that it can't even distinguish the line anymore. My mentality has been so shattered that it can be identified as dust. Everything of my body doesn't feel normal, and I can't even remember what that's supposed to be.
Black Mask has reached a new level of horror. He's achieved what Batman's greatest enemy couldn't. Breaking every single part of a person that gives functionality. Gone.
My body hangs from chains that are tied to my wrists so tight that I've lost feeling completely. The amount of blood that drips beneath me could fill tens of pint size blood bags. My suit is practically non-existent with all of the cuts and slashes that litter my body as a canvas. That's what I've become.
A canvas to a man that loves to use red to unveil the body's breaking point piece by piece. Mentally or Physically? That's for anyone to decide.
Glass shatters close to my right but I don't even bat an eye. Not like I can since my eight eye is gone. Thankfully my left eye got spared, but at this point, I wish it was gone so I didn't have to watch the scenes that haunt my dreams on repeat.
Hushed voices get louder and louder until it stops. Guess they found the grand prize. Rushed footsteps enter the chat, not caring how loud they are anymore. Guess they're running out of time. Heh, been there.
"Don't worry kiddo-" A voice calls out, cracking miserably, "Were gonna get you down from there."
The voice sounds familiar yet I can't seem to wrap my head around it. It takes everything in me to not scream at the fire burning in my shoulders as they jostle with the chains. Repeated apologies are blurted out, but once the cuffs are off a wail of agony escapes me. My whole body convulses in the persons arms as it begins to gain proper blood flow once again. Whoever is holding is shaking hard, probably disgusted by the sight. But that changes the moment I feel 2 drops land on my face. Tears.
Suddenly everything clicks in place. The nickname and no crying? The calming voice and the secure but soft hold?
That's Dick.
I force my eye open despite the pain and nearly faint at the sight. My brother is right in front of me, holding me as if I'm leaving. I want to call out to him or do something but I can't move at all. Tears form in my eye as I find my discovery of being useless. Little drops fall down my face as I can't say anything.
I hear fighting in the background but all I can focus on is my brother being right here next to me. It worries me that the others are most likely fighting, but they can hold there own since they have each other. I grit my teeth as I force myself to say something. Anything.
"D-Dick," I rasp out as my vocal chords feel like infinite fire.
He looks down to me with shock, but quickly hugs me tighter as he cries out. I cry out in pain, but begin to sob at the realization. This is real. This isn't fear gas again.
It's all real.
"Your so stupid y'know that? You had us worried sick. And to think we didn't even know you were S/n! I feel like a terrible brother. I'm so sorry Y/n," Dick rambles, petting my hair as he holds me close.
Finally getting feeling in my arms is one of the most bizarre moment but I couldn't care less. With much struggle, I wrap my arms around him and essentially koala hug him. "D-Don't let me go," I whisper.
"Never in a million years would I even dream of that kiddo," Dick responds.
"DICK! TELL ME YOU GOT HER SO WE CAN GO! TOO MANY GOONS ARE SHOWING UP SO WE NEED TO LEAVE NOW!" Jason yells out, shooting left and right with two AR's, "DIE YOU PUNKS!"
Scary but yet so satisfying to see goons drop to the ground.
"YOU SHALL DIE BY MY HAND YOU DISGUSTING RAT OF A MAN! FEAR ME IN YOUR FINAL MOMENTS OF LIFE!" A feral screech of a speech but it's effective, " I AM A FUTURE DEMON HEAD YOU IMBECILE! I CAN HAVE YOU OBLITERATED FOR EVEN LOOKING AT ME!"
"TOUCH MY SISTER AGAIN AND I WILL BRING YOU OUT OF ARKHAM MYSELF TO BEHEAD YOU!"
"...Don't mind them they have a bit of pent up anger," Dick mutters as we slowly make our way out.
As we finally make it to the batmobile that just showed up, the whole building is lit to flames, burning a hot blue as it crumbles in on itself. Of course, the three boys wanted a dramatic exit. If I could guess, twenty bucks goes to it being Jason's idea.
They finally make there way to us and get a very light group hug. Who would've thought I'd have such a protective squad that can't even decide on a Disney movie?
