Chapter 1: From the start
Chapter Text
———————
It’s no surprise that you were a bit delusional when it came to love.. But hey, you felt special when Albedo let you hang out while he was working. A privilege only Sucrose and you had.
Albedo and you had known each other quite a while. You researched herbs and medicine, and sometimes worked with him during experiments. His smile, his personality, how caring he was. He was a great guy. Unfortunately, you were not that great. Not in his eyes. Not that he didn’t think highly of you, just that people could be so much better. That didn’t bother you too much.
The same couldn’t be said about Wanderer. He was a hopeless case when he had to face his feelings.
In denial or plain rude about it.
Enough is enough!
You think. Today was the day. You will tell him how you feel!
Time to recap on that disaster!
——————————9:20PM: Friday
“Hey, Y/N. I’m going to head out now. Please tell Sucrose to pack up once she’s gonna leave, thanks!”
Albedo says in a casual tone, waving you goodbye while holding the door open to leave.
“Oh, ok! May I walk back with you? I have some things to discuss.” You reply, a big smile on your face.
He hums and nods. “Sure. But please be hasty. I am meeting up with someone soon.”
“Great!”
You followed Albedo out the laboratory, leaving a note to remind Sucrose to pack up after she’s finished. You guys enjoy a nice silence, sometimes breaking with simple chats and small talk. You strolled through flower shops, bakeries, and more before you finally got to wherever he was going.
Albedo had made it to his destination, and you insisted on waiting with him, sort of desperately. You just wanted to take every chance you could to be around him. And he surprisingly agreed!
“Who are you waiting for anyways?” You ask, tilting your head at him.
“Ah!” He said, smiling warmly. You didn’t see him do that often. “Lumine! I’m catching up with her for dinner, since she just returned from Sumeru and Liyue.”
“…”
“That’s great.” You said, plastering a smile on while gritting your teeth.
You couldn’t hate Lumine. She’s number one, your best friend. You were the first person Amber introduced her to after all the knights. You loved her with your whole heart. And, girls got game, and is really easy to like. But you couldn’t help but feel annoyed hearing him talk so fondly about someone. Maybe today isn’t—the day.. You thought. Your train of conflict suddenly stopped when a familiar blonde popped up in your view. “Y/N! Albedo!” She shouts, a big smile on her face as she walks towards you guys.
You stand up and greet her, wrapping her in a big hug. You can always spare time to greet your best friend, even when Albedo is present. “Hey! I haven’t seen you in sooo long!” You say. “I know! I’m surprised you’re here! Albedo didn’t say you would be coming.” She says, placing a hand on her hip. “Yeah, I’m not staying, I just waited...with him.” You say, sighing a little bit. Lumine raises an eyebrow and looks at you, grinning. You look at her sheepishly, and smile a bit, looking at her. Her face screams
“Oh? You got to stay here alone with your crush!!!”
Albedo interjects and greets her. “Hey Lumine! Let’s eat dinner now. I can’t wait to catch up with you.” He says, putting on his best smile. Lumine did not apparently catch the vibe and warmly accepted. How is this girl so charming and oblivious, only time will tell. “Alright! Uh, I’ll get going now. Have fun.” You wave them goodbye with a sort of sour or bittersweet face. It’s not Lumine, it’s Albedo. She knows about this..liking you have for Albedo, but doesn’t see the affection he has for her.
With a heavy heart, you sigh and walk back to your house, giving in and sitting down on your porch.
—————————Scaramouche pov(I think?)
You sigh. After the whole Sumeru drama and fighting, you started to accompany the “Traveler”, or Lumine. It’s been really nice, and you eventually caught some feelings for her. Even after the things you did. She showed you kindness and accepted you, likewise, Nahida did too. When Lumine said she would be returning to Liyue and then Mondstadt, you followed in suit.
She headed out to get dinner with a friend, which definitely intrigued you. “Who’re you meeting?” You ask. “Albedo. You don’t know him though. He’s very trustworthy though! I’ll be fine.” Lumine says, smiling and combing her hair in the mirror.
“Tch. I never said I was worried!”
“Haha! I just know you are.” She smiles, laughing at his denial.
Your face heats up as you turn away with a mean-looking pout. Lumine pats your back and makes her departure, grabbing your hat and placing it on your head. “Go out and make a friend, won’t you? I promised Nahida I’d show you everything here! I’m heading out now.” She waved her hand and closed the door with a “click!”.
————————Reader’s Pov:
You sat on that porch for a while, sitting in silence as your thoughts stirred up. “ What does Lumine have that I don’t?! She’s just any other person but obviously the main character if this was a reverse harem. Lucky much. Her looks aren’t even all that—nevermind.” You say and sigh. You can’t say that about her, it’s not like she’s the problem. Plus she bought you those concert tickets— Maybe you’re just the problem. All the work you’ve done with Albedo and he just seemed friendly at best. Not even interested. You just let it pass by because he was a clone of sorts, or something.
Until you saw him look and act like that whenever Lumi was around. God, thinking about if they got together got you beat down tears. You just cried to yourself while holding your face with your hands.
Wanderer had been strolling about the streets, attempting to get his mind off of Albedo. “Ugh, who does that person think he is? Tch.” He scoffed, kicking stones along the side of the walkway. Hearing the silent sobs of someone near him, he walked ever so closer, spotting someone crying their heart out on a random porch. He sighs and subconsciously walks closer and sits down next to you.
You turned your head to look at the stranger seated next to you. The purple haired guy looked a bit embarrassed, but his hand was held out to you, holding a handkerchief.
You took it with a nod, and wiped away your tears. “Thanks.” You put out. Before immediately bursting into tears again. The guy seemed surprised at your outburst and sighed, patting your back.
“Rough night?”
“…Just a rea—lly crappy week.” You said between sniffles. You wiped your eyes and looked at him. Wow. He's really pretty. You thought.
“I get that.”
“It’s just that I spend so much time with this one guy hoping that he’ll like me as much as I do but once my friend comes back it’s like I barely register as present in his eyes cause he’s too busy stupidly fawning and adoring someone sooo out of his league. Like girl, She can do so much better and-“
You got shushed by him. “Ok, I get it. Please don’t start yapping.”
“Fine. What happened to you?”
“The girl I.. really really like likes someone else. I’m in the same boat as you. Lets just sink and sulk together for a little bit.”
You nod and face forward once again. Letting the silence sink in. “Y/N, you?” You say.
“Wanderer.”
You burst out laughing. “Sounds like a pet nickname from that girl. Down bad much??” You say, laughing and slurring your words.
“OH SHUT UP. This is why THAT GUY DOESN’T LIKE YOU, ANNOYING GIRL”
“I HOPE YOU DIE OF LONELINESS. IT WAS NICE TO MEET YOU, JERK!”
You say, hitting him on the head with your hand. He scoffs and chuckles.
Who knew getting so drunk and annoying a the hell out of a stranger would be this fun?
Chapter 2: Drunk and Disorderly

Chapter Text
Scaramouche had gotten stuck with you, leaning on him, asleep and drunk. He sighed and internally facepalmed at the sight. He grunted and stood up, pulling you up with him. “Hey! Wake up! I'm not carrying your ass back home!” He shouted, intending to wake you up.
You whined a bit but didn’t wake up.
He started flicking your forehead and weakly punching your arm. He gave up quite easily, honestly.
“Stupid girl.” He grumbled, walking back to the shared hotel room he had. With Lumine. Goes without saying Lumine was surprised to see her best friend drunk with Wanderer of all people.
“What did you do to her.” Lumine asked, crossing her arms and glaring at him.
“I-I didn’t do anything! She just started grabbing drinks from the vendors and downing them!”
“I know her enough to know she hates alcohol!”
“How do you know her?? I should’ve called you earlier!”
“Quiet! How did you find her?”
“I saw a girl crying on a porch and accompanied her. Then she started rambling about some blond guy and then started the drinking part of this story.” He quietly replied. looking down, shaking his head.”
“Huh. Poor Y/N. You go do your stuff, I’ll bring her back.”
Lumine says, throwing you over her shoulder. Scaramouche nods and walks away, smiling at Lumine. “Thats nice of you.” He says. Lumine smiles back and leaves the hotel, holding you tightly and walking back to you house. “It’s like you need a babysitter, Y/N, gosh!” She says jokingly.
“Waaa! Lumime! Don’t tayk me howam. Waaaaa!!” You whined, hitting her back weakly as you slurred your words. The lights from the street lamps near the shops were dizzying, and the cold wind left a nice feeling on your skin.
“There there. Go to sleep now.” She says in a quiet and calm voice, though a bit irked.
(It’s been like half an hour and she only got you in bed now. You immediately fell asleep and she ran out of your house.)
“THAT TOOK FOREVER.” She said to herself. She looked at you through the window and let out a sigh of relief, locking your door and returning to her room. She found Scaramouche on the bed, pouting and turning his head away.
“What took you so long?”
“Ugh, I’m tired. Don’t bother, please.”
(Cue inspirational morning music🧚♀️)
You woke up very suddenly, jumping up and grabbing the bedsheets under you. That hangover migraine hit like a freight train though, as you fell backwards and on the matress again.. “Goodness,. What in the bokchoy happened.?” You asked, holding your head in your hands. It felt like a needle piercing through your head, before it was interrupted. “Knock knock!” A familiar voice called out. LUMINE!!
“Yikes. How are you feeling?” She asks placing a tray of soup next to you on your nightstand.
“Soup? Really?” You ask, deadpanning her.
“Hey! You don’t get to talk until I’m done with my lecture.”
“Thats why you shouldn’t get drunk like that! Imagine if it wasn’t Wanderer who accompanied you! Maybe you would’ve died!!” Lumine huffs, her hands on her hips with an annoyed expression.
“Yes, yes. I’m sorry miss Lumine. Waiwaiwaiwait—you know Wanderer?” Your eyes perk up when she mentions Wanderer.
Huh. You didn’t know they knew eachother.
“Is that the guy you mentioned in your letters? That guy?” You asked, sipping the hot soup with a content look on your face. “Yep. Why? Do you perhaps find him a bit.. interesting?” She nudges your shoulder, a cheeky grin on her face.
Your ears turn red and your face blushes in embarrassment. “No! Nononononononononononono! Hell no! I like Albedo, and you know that!!” You shouted, waving your hands rapidly and messing your lips together. She pouts and looks away, huffing. “It’s about time you got over him. Its been years.” She rolls her eyes playfully and lies down next to you.
“How was dinner with Albedo, anyway?” You ask.
Man, this soup is delish!!
“Nice. He seems really happy I’m back. I didn’t know people missed me that much!” She chuckles. She really doesn’t pick up the hints.. You thought, narrowing your eyes at her. Apparently you looked a bit too intensely because she raised an eyebrow. “Ok, go drink your soup! I have more errands and commissions to do.” She mumbles.
“You just got back! Do rest days not apply to you?”
Lumine giggles and smiles. “They do! I’m going to Diluc’s winery!!” She shouts with a cheery smile. The realization hit her and she stuttered and managed to get out. “ I-I mean Diluc’s winery”.
“Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha—“ Lumine “laughed” .
“…”
“Is this, “Diluc”, that redhead you visit often?”
You insinuate, using air quotes. Lumine put a hand behind her head.
“It’s nothing..” She mutters. You let out a “hah!” sound.
“Lumine’s got a crush!! LUMINES GOT A CRUSH!” You shouted.
“Oh, be quiet!” She scolds, slapping your arm.
“I’ll be leaving now. And no buts, I’m leaving you with Wanderer. Because I obviously can’t bring him to Diluc’s, and I don’t know if you’ll go drinking again.” You look at her with the most “are you actually being for real” face. She cheekily grins and walks away. “Toodaloo, mon ami~!”
She leaves you there, alone and bored. You got up and made your bed, fixing yourself before going out to work. You passed by a lot of streets, grabbing some food for your coworkers. “Morning, Albedo and Sucrose! You smiled, handing them the food. “For me.? Thank you so much Miss Y/N!” Sucrose thanked you.
“Good morning too. Thank you Y/N, you always make my morning better! Let’s get to work.” He greets, tapping his pen on a clipboard. You nod and quickly get to his side. “We’re going to continue the experiment, and after that please follow up wi—…
His voice faded away as you fell into a daze. Just looking at him was enough. Like every moment the wind blew and the sun shone at him, and he looked perfect. Like clockwork, you were not paying attention, and the hours went by quickly.
“Y/N. Y/N!” Albedo sternly called out. His voice snapped you out of your thoughts as your head turned to him.
“Y-yes?!” You sheepishly looked away. He sighed for the hundredth time. “Are you ok? You seem out of it. The only response I got from you was “aluminum foil”. And we weren’t even talking about it!” He snapped, putting his clipboard down with a thud.
(His patience snapped like a stale breadstick😔)
You flinch and widen your eyes, tears dwelling in your eyes. Your lips trembled and pupils jittered left and right. Those actions was acknowledged when Albedo apologized. He looked irked, but he sat down calmly. You and Albedo had a standard relationship. He was always the professional one and you were…usually blowing things up—but that was besides the point. To sum it up, you weren’t impressive.
“Just get rest. I can finish the rest with Sucrose. I’ll drop by later.” He offers, placing a hand on your shoulder and pushing you forward and out the laboratory. Your mood instantly dropped and you slumped to the depths of the cold chipped floor. Someone draped their arm around your shoulder whilst crouching. You spotted the blue hair and sighed.
“Something wrong, darling?” He asks, a smirk on his face.
“Love problems.” You reply.
“Oh.” The silence made you worry. He squealed like a little kid and kicked his legs. “DISH GIRL, DISH!!” He says, yanking you up and shaking you by the shoulders back and forth.
You groaned and swung your head back. He offered a hand out so you could sit at ‘Good Hunter’ while you caught up. It was around afternoon when you guys finished catching up. The whole Albedo and Wanderer hullabaloo was interesting to Kaeya. “Who knew you had a thing for Albedo, of all people?” He laughed, leaning back in his chair. “Ugh, I know. I wish he cared more. It feels like pining for an empty shell.” “Amen.” He replies, sipping on his wine. Diluc’s heavy boots echoed on the floor and he sighed.
“It’s only afternoon. Why drinking at Good Hunter?” He (synonym for scolded???)
“Let me be, Diluc~ I’m just listening to Y/N talk about her depressing love life!”
Diluc narrowed his eyes and turned his head to you with concern.
“Ughh, Shut up Kaeya!” You shout, throwing a bread roll at his head.
Chapter 3: Thanks a lot, Jean!
Summary:
You were definitely starting to feel like it was hopeless to keep this little crush for Albedo.

Chapter Text
———————————Wanderer, 3:47PM
Wanderer sat in his chair, rereading through the books and newspapers he got from Lisa. Man that girl’s weird as fu—“Oh, hey Lumine.!” He quickly greeted, spinning his chair with an expression a bit too happy to see her.
“Someones a bit excited. I heard Y/N finished work. I don’t think shes with anyone right now... Hang out with her sometime won’t you? And you never know, maybe you’ll be friends! Doesn’t that sound fun?” She teased, giggling.
“Can’t that woman find someone else? Does she have no friends??” He groaned.
“No, she's kinda lonely, but you can be her friend! (Or more, if you know what I mean😏😏)”
Wanderer scoffs and fakes a gag. “As if. It was only a coincidence I saw her yesterday. And I don’t like her. Not like you’d know about liking or crushes.” He mutters the last part with a small frown.
“WHAT WAS THAT??”
“NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.”
———————————Y/N 3:51PM
Kaeya was sleeping, head down on the table. You side eye him and grab the bill to pay.. “Thanks for the food!” You smile, waving before having to heave him up from his chair. Grabbing onto Kaeya’s arms, you drag him back to the Knights of Favonius.
The clack of your heels always drown out the sounds of chatter, metal being hammered, and the constant clangs from your polearm.. Those times are when you really feel and hear the nice sounds of Mondstadt. Every chirp and cricket, every meow and bark. You take each step up the stairs to the HQ with a smile. The white pillars and guards’ armor reflect a warm shine from the setting sun. The sky and sun were comparable to Albedo. So warm and close, yet so far and cold.
God, you just wish he would pay more attention to you. Just care a little bit more. It hurt a lot to pine for someone without a clear sense of emotions.
You just wanted to feel some warmth from him.
—————————In Jean’s office
“Y/N, it’s only noon! How is Kaeya already so drunk?? Next time, be a bit more responsible when you let him drink.”
“Sorry, Master Jean.” You say with a sheepish smile.
She sighs, and walks around her dark wood table to stand before you. You sit Kaeya down on a chair and are about to leave, when Jean interjects.
“Wait. I’m a bit too busy today, can you do me a few favors?” She asks with a sweet smile.
“But I’m tired…..”
“I’ll add mora and some chicken skewers.”
“I’m in!!! PAY UP BIT— I MEAN GIRL!”
It’s so easy to get Y/N to do stuff. She thinks, chuckling to herself a little bit.
“I just need you to clear out a few hilichurl camps. Not that hard!” She says with a thumbs up.
“Fine. But you better pay up!”
You quickly left after fixing your stuff, heading out near Springvale to clear out some hilichurl camps. Drawing out your weapon before facing tge hilichurls. Executing the hilichurls was simple enough. But of course it was tiring. You weren’t the best in fighting, unlike Lumine. Ugh, how is she so good at fighting? Is it like natural skill or.?—whatever.
You pull your sword out of the disintegrating hilichurl and swing it at the upcoming pyro mitachurl. It ducked just in time to get a hit on your torso. It wasn’t a huge wound, but it got you winded in the air, and quickly falling. Wow, what a mess you’re in right now.
You cough as it sends you up, your polearm unsheathes itself and descends alongside you. Before the mitachurl could harm you further, a fire-charged arrow shoots at it, killing it. A sigh of relief exits the marksman's mouth. “Y/N! There you are. Are you alright?” She asks, sending more arrows at the angry enemies.
“Amber!” You say, happy and relieved. You totally thought you were gonna die. You pick your polearm up and strike it through two hilichurls. They throw their own arrows and counter-attacks, but Amber and you dodge quickly and hit precisely. Effectively clearing the rest of the remaining bunch with Amber.
You both wipe off sweat and fall down onto the ground, catching your breath.
“You good? That seems like a pretty sizable wound.” Amber asks, worried that you were in a lot of pain.
“I’ll be fine. Not gonna die from one scratch.” You lie through your teeth. You were definitely thinking it was your last moments before dying to a single enemy. Your blood stained your white undershirt as the adrenaline started wearing off. It will not be fine.
She gives you a look of doubt, but sighs and says nothing more. “Whatever helps you sleep at night Y/N. We should go back, I don’t think it’s wise to leave..that unattended.” She points at your wound. Her face was a mix of worry and pity. It didn’t make your pride feel any better. You are strong, you shouldn’t be so hurt over a weak foe. Standing up, you stretch out a hand, and she takes it, holding you by the arm to balance you. You wobble around, taking time to get the right footing. Then you both walk back to the city.
——————————— Y/N, 9:31PM
The birds chirp in a sing-songy way when both of you return. It was weird seeing the bridge empty. No Timmy, no birds. You make your arrivals and greet the night shift guards. Amber turns to face you once you enter the gates.
“Hey, uhm..let's go visit the clinic. You don’t look well..” She says in a soft tone, her voice pairing well with the quiet atmosphere. She looked concerned about you. You were so very clearly in a daze. You just nod and allow yourself to be dragged up the stairs and to the Knights of Favonius HQ. She hurriedly opens the door and calls for anyone there to help patch your injury and stop the bleeding. Only Lisa was left there though. She wasn’t a qualified doctor, but carefully started bandaging you.
“Y/N, how did this even happen?” She questions, wrapping gauze around your torso and asking Amber to clean the wound with betadine and a wet towel. You inhale sharply and feel the stinging linger from the medicines.
“Uhm. Jean asked me to clear out some pretty big hilichurl camps.”
She lets a few tsk’s slip, but looks at you sweetly. “Be careful next time. Be grateful Amber got to you in time, this isn’t such a minor wound.”
“Sorry I couldn’t come sooner! Master Jean was busy and I had to annoy her into telling me.” Amber apologized, her head low. You move your arm to flick her forehead.
“It’s not your fault! You don’t always need to apologize. I should be thanking you.” You scold, giving her a disapproving look. She smiles and chuckles a little.
“There you go.” Lisa calmly says, inching away from you. “It’s not the best, but it’s sufficient enough for a couple days”
“Thanks a lot, Lisa, Amber.”
“No problem! Now hurry back home. You need rest to recover.
You nod and smile, exiting the HQ and going on your way back to your house. Archons, you felt dizzy and lightheaded. Lisa did such a great job cleaning up and bandaging, so it’s probably not that. Right.? Each step you took made you feel even more weighed down. Your breath came out raggedy and untimely. Vision flickering on and off. No way, you are fine.
It was just a scratch. You didn’t even lose that much blood. Well maybe. While your thoughts overlapped, you were just walking around aimlessly. No one was around to guide you back. So it was just a battle between you and yourself. Everything was spinning after a few minutes of walking. Nothing was making sense, and that scared you to your core. It was like a drug you couldn’t avoid.
Just..one..more step—
You could almost feel how close you were to your home.
And then it all went black.

Chapter Text
Blacking out in the middle of the very empty street. Great coincidence. You did have some luck though. Someone taking a night walk bumped into you, again. When they got knocked over, they were appalled. It was you. Again. Unlike the normal circumstance where he expected a snarky remark, you stayed still after being tipped over, small amounts of blood pooling under you. He was alarmed immediately. He didn’t even react when he fell over, immediately rushing over to you. He shook you a bit before checking your pulse. You were still alive, barely. He sighed, annoyed. What happened now?
He pulled you up and threw you on his back. Damn you were..light. (You are not he is just crazy strong🤷🏻♀️) Huffing, he started his ascend up the pathways and into his shared space with Lumine. His walk was a really tense mood, despite being alone, minus the bloody unconscious body above him. He had three questions;
1, what the hell happened to you to make you faint and start bleeding. 2, what the fuck. 3, are you still gonna be alive when he gets home? He could feel the warm liquid seeping into his jacket(thank god he wore one, Lumine thought it would rain), and it made him stiffen up. His eyes darted to your figure, as you breathed small breaths. It sort of alarmed him in a way that made him walk ever so faster.
It wasn’t a good or normal feeling. He felt..kinda bad for you. He barely even knows you, why should he? He grumbled, knocking on his door.
How would he explain to Lumine her friend collapsed in the middle of the path in the middle of the night? After he had just found you crying and drinking.
Knock knock. “Coming!” Lumine shouts. She opens the door with a smile, that's quickly shut down by a glare.
“Funny story, I was—“
“Get your ass inside.”
“Yes ma'am.”
———————Wanderer & Lumine’s house
“Alright, go on with your wack story.” Lumine says, ushering him to start talking.
“It is not wack!” He insists, stubbornly disagreeing with her.
“Uh huh.”
He glared at Lumine and continued. She smiled in victory and leaned back in her chair.
“I—Whatever!! I was walking near the flower shop near the gates and then I saw…what’s her name again??” He blandly pointed at you.
“Oh my god! It’s Y/N!! How are you someone who's been alive for hundreds of years??? Her name isn’t hard to remember!”
“Well, she was walking, and then right when I spotted her, she fell over, and fainted.” He shrugged, casually brushing it off. If only he could see how awful he was at lying.
It was clear he was a bit worried. It made her smile. Seeing her companion slowly warm up to humanity was a nice feeling. Like a proud mama hen.
Wanderer glanced at Lumine and felt his face heat up. Her smile was so serene to him. Like a nice wave of cool and refreshing peace. It made him stare for a little longer, making Lumine snap him out of his thoughts.
“Hey! Teyvat to Wanderer??” Lumine scowls. “Back to the world now.”
“Huh?”
“There you are! I’ve been talking to a statue for a few minutes now.
“Oh.. What were you saying?”
“I was saying that..I’m GOING TO SLEEP THIS WOMANS YOUR PROBLEM NOW ANNOYING ASS!!!” Lumine quickly put out, darting for her bed and pulling the covers over her. She laughed, amused by her quick escape. “Oh. YOU CRAZY WOMAN THIS GIRL IS INSANE PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ME WITH HER—“
“OH YOU’LL BE FINE. HUSH HUSH!”
Wanderer pauses to take a deep breath. “I will actually let her bleed out to death if you sleep on us.” He blatantly states, crossing his arms with a smile of victory on his face. Lumine’s jaw basically drops as she sits up and cocks her face at him. “No! I’m awake I’m awake I swear!!” She laughs between her words, shaking her hands in front of her. She throws the covers off of her and swings her feet off the bed. Looking at you silently breathing on Wanderers bed made her gaze and tone soften. “I’ll stay awake! Just come over and help me. She’s a tough nut to take care of.”
“Isn’t it “a tough nut to crack?” He asks, raising an eyebrow at her remark.
“Nope. The nut called Y/N is very easy to crack. She is hard to take care of. I guess bitches do be crazy.?” Her mouth curves into a smile, looking at him with an awkward face.
Wanderer facepalms in return, done with Lumine’s antics.
————————Wanderer and Lumines house, 10:52PM
He grabs onto your shoulders tightly to straighten you up. You subconsciously take a sharp breath, feeling the pressure of his porcelain fingers digging into the dents and wounds in your skin.
He loosens his grip and looks at Lumine, waiting for her to make a move. She stands up and leans over you, inspecting every part bleeding.
“She seems to be decently bandaged, it’s probably just the blood loss.” Lumine smiles to herself. She was definitely speaking from experience, god bless her soul. The drawer makes a small thud when the sides hit each other, as Lumine pulls out needles and stitch threads. Wanderer gags at the sight. “Oh archons.” He covers his mouth with his hand.
“Are you gonna stitch her up??”
“Way to state the obvious. I don’t need any infections in her right now.” Lumine strings the thread through the eye of the needle. She dips the needle into some fresh unopened alcohol to sterilize it. One second later and she's already stabbing in and out of your skin, pulling the thre- ads together to close up wounds. Wanderer is still looking away, choosing not to move from him spot facing away from you and her.
“You’re such a scaredy-cat. It’s just stitches.” Lumine teases, focusing on her technique and tugging tighter on the ties holding the injury closed. She smiles a sigh of relief when she finishes. She was about to wipe her sweat, but Wanderer beat her to it, dabbing her face with a cloth.
“Thanks, Wanderer!” Lumine looks at him warmly. “Do you mind if she takes your bed? I don’t know if we have the manpower to carry her elsewhere.” She sheepishly smiles, putting a hand behind her head.
Wanderer knows they have the manpower to bring her elsewhere. How did he get her here in the first place, but he indulges in her foolish idea and agrees, settling it with an “I can handle the floor” response. And then they are off to sleep. Lumine was fast asleep, hugging her pillows as support.
You, were tossing and turning.
How was an unconscious person doing all that? No idea.
But it kept Wanderer awake for a long while. First you turn left. And then right. Then you grab onto a pillow. And then turn the other way and send it flying over to his face. He throws the pillow off with an irritated face.
“God. How much longer can this girl turn over for?” He says to himself.
You didn’t snore, but that was replaced by your habit of chucking pillows at him while you slept. He set up a fun little contraption. He tucked you in by your blanket and put the edges of the blanket in the crevices of the bed frame. It was basically like a swaddle for you.
You whined and tried to escape the grasps of your cover, but failed. Wanderer smirks at his victory and lies back down on his makeshift-bed settled on the floor between his and Lumine’s bed.
He laid back and fluffed his pillows, letting the tire of each day catch up and let him sleep.
————————————Y/N 6:13AM
When the first rays of sunlight hit your eyes, you woke up. Sitting up almost immediately, you felt a bit dizzy, but held your head higher than yesterday. You glanced around yourself, Lumine and Paimon sleeping..
That checks out. You think to yourself.
You throw the covers off of yourself, feeling a sting around your wound.
“Aw!. Lumine stitched it up. Ow!, Lumine stitched it up.” You smile. Slipping on your shoes and heading out, you quietly shut the door behind you. “Archons, what happened last night??” You raise a hand to your head to think about the previous events.
“So it started with Jean’s commission, and then Amber showed up, and brought Lisa into this, somehow.?” You mumble to yourself.
“Yo.” A voice calls out, putting a cold hand on your shoulder. The suddenness makes you shout and turn around. “AAAAAH—oh. Hello…uhm, Hat person??”
“It’s Wanderer, idiot.”
“Oh! … Hi.” Replied you, curtly and awkwardly.
“Why so shy? It’s not like we just met.” Wanderer teases, looking at you with a demeaning smirk.
A certain short purple haired guy peeks around your door. “Uhh..Wanderer, right? Why are you following me??” You query, looking up from your book. Why was he trailing after you once your odd interaction?
“Who else? Dumbass.”
“If you’re here to insult me, please get a life. Bye-bye!” You smile, slowly closing your door.
He puts his foot between the door at the last second and smiles bitterly. “Lumine told me to hang with you. And since I’m new to Mondstadt, take me on a tour, give me some local person tips.” He grins, taking joy in annoying you. Your eyes twitch in frustration before you push him out, telling him to give you a few minutes to change.
“Oh god. Maybe a few minutes is too little! What if I show up like a slob—oh wait. Why do I care?? Me dressing up as a slob probably looks fabulous to his drab outfit!” You put a hand on your hip.
Walking to your closet, you flip through all of your clothes, deciding on a white with purple outlines crop top and black shorts, but with a hilt around the shorts that are like a midnight purple translucent kind of fabric that hangs around it. And finally some black sleeves that aren’t connected to your shirt, that wrap around your middle finger.
With a final brush of your hair, you open the door and lean on the framing.
“I’m ready. Before we begin. Tip? 100%, 50%, 20%?” You ask with a grin.
“Shut up. I’m new to town so give me freebies.”
Chapter 5: Underwater Love
Notes:
HII‼️ I’m so sorry for not posting. I’m still working on the ranpo x reader, and I got sidetracked into another fic I’m writing. As always, enjoy the chapter!
Chapter Text
The whole tour was just you talking about Mondstadt. You looked at Springvale, Starfell Valley, some ruins, the town, and other places. All he really did was scowl at other people when they tried talking to him. (It was mostly people trying to ask him out bffr) It was a very tense atmosphere though. You noticed whenever you guys walking around, he’d drag you to switch sides whenever there were any hilichurl camps nearby.
“ Cute.” You chuckle to yourself. “WHAT THE HELL Y/N I KNOW WE ARE DESPERATE BUT NOT HIM PLEASE Barbatos anyone but him” You mumble to yourself. Wanderer glares at you and looks at you with a weirded out face. When did this guy get so judgy, dang. At some point, you kinda got tired of starting all the conversations, leaving your atmosphere silent. It wasn’t that bad actually. He didn’t wanna talk because he thinks he’s all high and mighty and above you, and you want to strangle him. Great!
You even took your sweet time showing him around the beach. You invited him to play in the sand, but he flat out refused, saying the sand would get stuck in his joints.
“Joints? Aren’t you a huma—oh.”
Right, Lumine said he was a puppet, and that he had his reasons to be reserved about that.
“Right, sorry..”
“It’s not a big deal. Yes, Lumine was telling the truth, I am a puppet.”
“How do you know?? Do you have magical mind readsing powers? Have you been hearing all my insults to you…”
He snorts, mocking you with his hand, pretending to talk.
“No, you annoying and idiotic girl. I just saw her letters on her desk during our stay in Sumeru.”
Ohh. That's creepy. Stalker vibes. You thought. “You sound like a stalker! Why would you read through our letters, weirdo.
“And that's Mondstadt! What did you think?” You query, your mood feeling revitalized, now that you could go home and rest. You were so drained and broke because touring him around took the entire day.
——————————POV: Wanderer, 5:03PM
“It was..quaint? I don’t know. Those people trying to talk to me were annoying.” Wanderer comments. Most people knew not to start up conversations with him, but apparently his reputation in Mondstadt wasn’t as scary as his in Sumeru. Y/N’s face dropped. “Not even one comment about the scenery? It’s so pretty here!” She insists, putting her hands on her hips. “Keep dreaming.”
“You are such a buzzkill, does anything in life give you joy??”
“Not you.”
“I hope a boar eats you alive.”
“And
———————————Mondstadt,Katheryne’s desk. 10:20AM
“Ad astra abyssosque!” Katheryn greets. Lumine smiles at her and walks towards her, alongside you.
“Do we really have to do commissions?? Paimon wants to sleep and eat today!” Paimon exclaims with her squeaky and high voice, floating forward and crossing her arms.
“You ate soo much yesterday! It’s just a couple commissions.” You remark, shooting a look at Paimon. She whines and opens her mouth to speak.
“Luminee! Just some chicken-skewers! I can already taste them!” Paimon says, floating next to her and nudging her shoulder.
“No! Not until Y/N and I finish some commissions.” Lumine states in a firm tone.
“Yeah! I didn’t get to do commissions yesterday because someone sent Wanderer to my house for the entire afternoon.” You smiled, your mouth twitching with annoyance. You barely enjoyed touring him, and he didn’t even do much except take your precious time. Paimon let out a “hmmpft” and left Lumine’s side, floating away to Good Hunter.
“Oh please, he was talking about it the entire night! I’m sure he enjoyed it.”
“Sure, I totally believe you.”
Lumine rolled her eyes. She went back to the board, and accepted a couple simple commissions. Deliver some packages to Graff, defeat an eye of the storm spotted by some citizens, keep a hot air balloon safe from any danger, and feed the ducks for Timmie.
Because you are both gucci smart and efficient , you split the commissions. You got feeding the ducks and the hot air balloon, meanwhile Lumine got the significantly more challenging tasks. Well I suppose delivering isn’t hard, but defeating an Eye of the Storm is.
You quickly sprinted out the Mondstadt gates, making sure to do your best not to startle the pigeons. But alas, they flew away, and Timmie looked rightfully upset.
“Maybe I’ll leave the commission for Timmie later..” Muttering to yourself, you give an apologetic face and make your way to the tower where the hot air balloon is situated. It was so simple.
**************
What to do
1.Protect the Hot air balloon from any damage
2.Make sure it comes to the destination in one piece
So you decided. With a smile, you started leading the balloon full of cargo through multiple hilichurls. All you did was strike your polearm at them. You were very lucky that most of them were normal hichurls, because crossbow or delusion using ones were troublesome. You cleared them all with ease. Even without a vision, your weapon skills weren’t bad. Worst that happened during the fight was that you got a little bit dusty, but that's fine.
After a couple minutes of mindless walking because of lack of directions, you think you found the commission house.
You sighed with relief, pushing the balloon forward and into the care of the person who had it delivered.
“Thank you so much! I’m so glad someone picked up the commision.” He said, bowing and putting his hands together.
“No problem!” You say, wiping your sweat. After he gave the reward for finishing the task, you got back on the road, happily skipping over to Timmie’s bridge. You liked to think he was like a bridge troll, that wanted to, but just couldn’t stop people from killing or chasing the birds away. The moment he saw your face, he immediately started glaring at you.
You felt chills up your spine as you slowly turned to face with a sheepish smile. Timmie clicked his tongue and shook his head. It was kinda funny, seeing that kid try to be intimidating. You wanted to snicker, but caught yourself and put a hand in front of your mouth.
You quietly walked over to him, doing your best to not mind the birds so they don’t fly away. Sadly, they caught on to your obvious sneaking, and flew away in multiple directions.
“Aw, dang it!” You say, stomping your foot on the floor.
“Hey! I told you not to scare them away!” Timmie shouts, frowning at you.
“I—I’m sorry don’t deduct the reward!
“Not even a don’t cry?? Shame. Shame.”
“Well sorry.”
Timmie sighs and looks at you. “Mom said not to hold grudges, so I’ll let you off this time. I’ll forgive you if you feed the ducks at Cider Lake!”
In victory, you smiled. That was such an easy task!
“Alright!” You say, before opening your traveling bag to snatch a bag of duck food (break, seeds, I don't know).
With every pitter patter of your shoes on the dirt and grassy ground, you soon found yourself on the sandy part of Cider Lake. Timmie said he has a good spot for feeding, but it was kind of in the middle of the water…
“Screw it! YOLO ANYWAYS—“ You shout, plunging into the water. You left all your stuff minus the food so it wouldn’t weigh you down. You were a very good swimmer, either way. So with a little swimming and pushing off from the rock behind you, your super drenched self got up on the rock platform. You heaved yourself up, feeling the gravity change from water to land.
“Hup!” You utter, standing up and dusting all the dirt that stuck to your clothes. You looked around yourself and started picking up handfuls of the food. Each piece hit the water with a plop, and the ducks immediately started swarming your singular rock island.
After emptying the bag, they all went back to their separate ways. “Gold diggers! You only care about me for my food!” You exclaim, holding the empty bag up.
You swear you saw one of them roll their eyes at you.
Maybe you are going crazy.
——————————Mondstadt, Y/N. 11:07AM
“Cheater! You flaked out a couple primos!!”
You call out to him, even if he was just before you, looking at him with a disapproving look.
“Yeah, but that’s because you scared the pigeons away! I had to take a bit from your pay.” Timmie explains, curling his hands into fists and onto his hips.
“It’s their fault! It’s not like I was trying to scare them aw—“
You feel a small pebble hit your head. Instantly, you cock your head towards the thrower, and of course it’s Wanderer. Was he obsessed or bored?? You’ll never know.
“Oh. You again.” You put out bitterly. Timmie seems to pick up on the tension and stays quiet, eavesdropping on your ongoing conversation.
“Thought you’d say that. What, is yelling at kids your new hobby?” Wanderer retorts, crossing his arms and leaning forward and towards you. You roll your eyes and respond.
“No! This little kid flaked out a couple primos because I scared the paranoid birds!”
“And that makes shouting the best idea? Brutal—also why are you drenched?”
“Uhm… I had to swim a bit to feed the ducks!”
“Stupid. You know you could just glide for the Mondstadt walls and glide back. Now you’re just getting this insolent kid and me wet!” He complains, in a whiny and purposefully annoying voice.
Timmie gawks at his remark, his face fuming. You smirk in reply, so ready to humble him.
“It's an insolent kid and I.”
“Shut up. You’re the one who's gonna be sick soon.”
“Worth it. Get humbled, loser.”
————————Timmies bridge, 11:21AM
After the whole thing where Wanderer appeared out of nowhere, you started to make remarks and argue. He was a horrible horrible annoying person.
But, before you could go for each other's throats and start drowning each other in the water, Timmie hit you two with a broom.
“Hey! I’m supposed to be the kid here! Stop fighting and talk it out, geez.” Timmie scolded, putting his hands in his pockets. You let go of Wanderers collar, and he in turn scoffs and lets go of your hair, giving it a hard tug. You stumble off balance, but save yourself with the bridge walls.
“Ow! He just said to stop!“ You whine, wincing and rubbing your head. Timmie looks at you two, frowning. “Why are you guys arguing? You just met!” He asks, pointing at Wanderer. Wanderer points at himself in disbelief. You started it—oh whatever. It’s not worth it, arguing with someone as ignorant as you.
“We didn’t just meet!”
“Because he's an annoying brat!”
Both of you yell in unison.
Timmie gives you both a look of doubt and indifference, practically side-eyeing the two of you. “You seem to hate each other. Oh well. Just take your primos and mora and leave me alone. I have to get the pigeons back!!” He conveyed, pushing the two of you backwards. And god damn, was this pigeon kid strong. You feel your back hit the short wall, and you feel off balance. Timmie looked shocked, you looked shocked, and Wanderer grinned with amusement.
You practically did a 180°flip off the bridge like it was artistic gymnastics, cause girl, you were about to get a perfect score in horrible luck and even worse landing techniques.
And you landed head-first into the shallow water underneath the bridge.
You instantly felt the urge to cough once the surface tension hit, because it wasn’t a good feeling. It was like hitting cement but a bit softer, and you couldn’t even gasp or breath. Your arms spread out to paddle and bring yourself up and above the water. Timmie, finally unfrozen, ran to the side of the bridge you fell, looking shocked and guilty. “I—I-“ He stammered. Guess it’s not everyday a kid that short and lame gets to do that.
“Mister! Go save her before she drowns!! She's too heavy to get back up!”
Wanderer deadpanned, not knowing whether to be proud of that kid for being a savage, or offended on your part. At that point, you were sinking pretty deep into cider lake. “You’re incompetent if you think I’m listening to a kid.” He stated in a firm tone, before hopping his legs onto the bridge wall and then swinging them over.
—--------------------------------
You tried to shout, but it came up to the surface in the form of bubbles. Archons, are none of them gonna save you? Your desperate attempts at paddling yourself upward hadn’t worked. Your air supply….you couldn’t last any longer underwater.
The last thing you saw before you swore your life flashed before your eyes was the water moving and splashing above, and something–someone grabbing you.
—--------------------------------------------
You coughed, feeling the fresh air hit your face as someone dragged you into the shallow part. Everything around you was a blur, but a purple one. “Archons, are all humans this fragile?” Wanderer spoke in a berating tone, scoffing and rolling his eyes.
“Dude, I literally almost drowned.” You deadpanned.
“I almost died, twice. Sucks to suck, loser.” Wanderer retorted.

Chapter Text
You dried yourself off, weaving through your drenched hair with a towel. “Ugh, Lumines gonna kill me…” You mumble, sitting down on the bed and bouncing up from the springs. And speak of the devil, she came.
“Uhm–Lumine-!” You very calmly said.
“Don’t Lumine me! Why is it that every damn day!, I leave you alone, you get hurt?! And especially with Wanderer!” She exploded into disappointment, crumpling the papers in her hands with frustration.
“Oh. I-I didn’t mean to this time! It’s that stupid stupid stupid ugly–”
“Alright! I know you hate him, just make out at this point!”
Lumine said. Although she acted disappointed, she was also desperate and begging that you guys just realize the dynamic between each other. Yes, you may still be in denial of it, platonic or not; but for what it’s worth, the amount of things you’ve burned in anger and denial for Albedo..yeah, they speak for themselves..
“Hello?? I’m not making out with that stupid st-”
“Stupid stupid ugly guy, we–..I know. But that isn’t my point! You keep getting hurt. I put you in Wanderer’s care, with hope he’ll protect you from your own inner demons. And carelessness. I’m starting to think he’s the one getting you in trouble, god. L I S T E N to me, I’m not, fucking kidding.” Lumine lambasted, making it clear this wasn’t a trivial matter.
You got the message, loud and clear. “Listening!” You yell, body going stiff. Lumine nodded in approval. “I trust you. I need to start training Wanderer. You’re too…special and I doubt he knows how to handle you.”
“I’m sorry? Is Wanderer a dog now? Maybe if I tell him he’ll roll on the ground..” You feigned curiosity, being as sarcastic as possible. Lumine rolled her eyes. “Ha-ha. Get to drying up. You might get sick from the water in Cider Lake. Ducks stay there, y’now.” She ever so gently reminded, chucking your white towel back onto your ruffled hair. You sighed and lowered your head, letting the towel slowly slide off of your damp hair. You catch it just before it can fall into the bed, blowing the hair in front of your face away.
“Boo. I’m not gonna be sick.” Remarking, you swing your legs over the bed and lean forward, your wet hair falling forward, and being wrapped up in your towel. Lumine sighs and stands up, sheathing her weapon in the hilt of her dress.
“Oh whatever..” She grumbled. “But I’ll be out for the next couple of days—You better, take care, Y/N!”
She curtly says, still stern on her warning to be more careful. It’s always been a problem for you. It’s really easy to just forget and take your own safety out of the picture. Even as a vision holder, you can’t keep yourself unharmed everyday. Lumine has always been the person looking out for you, left and right, everytime.
And in turn, you’d watch her back in things you specialized in, like love! You’d regularly give advice and ideas, but it was hard to give actual advice when it was clear your own love life was in shambles.
Maybe the wait will actually kill you.
———————————Y/N’s house, 7:01Pm
You sink down in your chair, exhausted by all the work. Urgh..I wanna go to sleep!! Barbatos have mercy…
Slamming your head down on your desk repeatedly, you grab the stack of papers and drop them vertically to even them all out. Your job was a good one, but you could only work with a scowl today, for lack of any attention or interaction with Albedo. He was like a magnet, except it seemed like you always repelled him..
“Like a reverse magnet!”
You shouted out, not intending to.
Diona sighs and places a shaker on the counter. Recently, you became a regular at Cat’s Tail to play TCG, and both of you became close. Safe to say—you talk a bit too much in your head.
“Y/N…what is it about now?” Diona begrudgingly asked, not wanting to hear more of your sudden interjections.
“Ahaha—nothing, nothing~!” A nervous chuckle escapes your mouth, as you turn away and hide your face in your hands. Diona shakes her head and pours the drink she was shaking into your glass. Your eyes immediately light up when you see it.
Your favorite drink!
And Diona seemed to even try to make it good, not including lizard tails or frog legs like her normal drinks..
“Diona! Thank you archons, coffee is what I need.”
“Crave.”
“My Ride or die.”
“Till expiration do us part.”
Diona looks at you with a concerned look and swishes her tail mildly frantically.
“Haha! um…did you get enough sleep last night? You look more dead inside than the state of Timmies pigeons…”
You stare into the wall in front of you as you cover your head in your hands with tire in your face. Diona rolls her eyes and pats the table for your attention.
“ Meow! Im meowing—are you gonna say anything?? If you zone out, I swear on…“
Hm.
…what's the point of liking Albedo at this point! He never even notices—or acknowledges it! He's all too wrapped up in Lumine, Lumine, and Lumine! For such an observant and know-it-all-guy, it’s like he just doesn’t care! The nonchalance was endearing at the beginning, though now it was plain irritating. His chaste voice, objective to say the least, with such a harsh and blunt way of speaking. Maybe you 5 months ago thought he wouldn’t turn a blind eye to your advances in becoming friends, though those hopes have been dashed many weeks ago.
“ugh….this is torture…”
You only groaned, slamming a defeated head onto the oak wood tables of the very cat infested building. Something startles you awake, your head jolting up with nonplus. The extremities this stranger would go to to jest with you, it all felt way too familiar.. Could it be—?
“Look over here. Didn’t expect to find you wasting away at Cat’s Tail.”
A snide remark escapes the menaces mouth, or better known as Wanderer. Speak of the devil. How much you wished Lumine was here, you’ll never understand how such a sweet person ends up dragging such a burden like Wanderer across the nations.
“Woow, what a day to be alive!!”
“Wanderer actually socializing?!”
You faked admiration, putting your hands together with a wowed face. He could only roll his eyes and scoff. “As if. I’m simply taking leisure, and strolling about. I’d never willingly find you.”
That made you let out a pfft. Really now!?
Not even the time he brought you home (his home, and he got chewed out for it…) after you went drunk.
Not even the time he brought you back ashore after you artistic gymnastics your dumbass off of the bridge.
And not every time he just so “happens” to pass by, and he leaves with a snide but teasing remark.
How annoying. Is he just emotionally dense? Or perhaps being a puppet finally has it’s flaws for the man. I suppose it’s up to him to admit. You let out a laugh, and put your elbows up like you’re about to start a whole-ass debate with the man.
“Wanderer, Wanderer, Wanderer. Do not play these mind games, you know you take time out of your day to make mine worse, so please don’t rain on my parade.”
(Perhaps it’s a Glee reference, and perhaps I also don’t care.) He simply scowled, pulling out a wooden chair beside you and sitting down with a disapproving look on his face. He shook his head and ordered a drink, quite sassily as Diona would describe.
“Very funny, miss Y/N. Tell me, who’s the hopeless romantic in love with a puppet?—Or robot, whatever that blond is..”
He muttered, rolling his eyes as if mentioning Albedo or “whatever that blond is” would kill him. What a petty person!
“Obviously not Lumine, puppet.”
You clicked your tongue in disbelief of his audacity. He’d been nothing but an ass to you, and you’ve only met days ago!
Albedo was good, and he was nice, and smart, and he cared in his own way. He was handsome and really an intelligent man, in fact—
“Archons! Do you copy? Sergeant Y/N, Y/N, Y/N!” Wanderer mocked your face, pinching your nose like a child. You swat his hands away and scowl. How funny, it’s almost like that's your signature look around Wanderer.
“Ha-ha. I need time to think. Alone.”
That for some reason made Wanderer raise an eyebrow in surprise. You never rang as a thinker—you’re too dense for thinking; let alone, well—alone! That's a recipe for disaster! Perhaps his endeavors to follow through Lumine’s efforts was too overbearing. Tch.
‘Fragile mortals…can't even handle some oversight.’ He thought to himself.
“Really now? Because every time you go somewhere with no supervision you end up at Lumine or I’s or anyones door, injured and sad.” He reprimandedly reminded, listing down the examples with a loathesome expression.
“Well this time I need to be alone! Even on a random table I won’t get hurt!”
“I know you talk to Lumine like I can’t defend myself! Yeah, I don’t wield a vision or a weapon as good as you. But I’m not a stupid puppy whos begging for attention!”
“Really now?!,”
Wanderer chuckled back, a ticked off expression to the amount of sass you talked. The commotion made other customers stare at your table as you had close enough to an epic bitch fight, except it’s just two people with a temper.
Peoplle were whispering and making accusations to each other like it was a trial, acting as jury members.
“Then don’t come crying to me or anyone when you get hurt trying to be “independant!, crazy woman!”
Wanderer exclaimed, really enunciating his words with actions. He was so stubborn! All he saw in you was a dumb person who can’t keep herself together for one minute?!
The thought infuriated you. All you wanted was to just go home and cry in bed. Maybe you will, or maybe you’ll just sit at work and hope Albedo sees you.
Better yet, sit with the ducks on Timmies bridge!
“I’m leaving! Your entire being is the reason Lumine doesn’t love you..”
You quite harshly snapped at him, sitting up and storming out of the cafe; not forgetting to throw some mora for the drink onto the counter. With three options and a lot to ponder, you stomped over to Timmie’s bridge, curling up beside him and leaning against the wall. He looked at you with a curious face, before crouching right beside you.
“Are you alright Miss drowning miss?”
He innocently asked, but it was the equivalent of a call out from your lack of swimming training.
“Haah…not exactly, Timmie. You see, I’m just a little hurt because someone I love, doesn’t love me back.” You vented to the child, looking at him through teary eyes. It was a stark contrast, to feel comforted by a child, who was a lot stronger than you in the moment.
“Well, thats alright! Hurt as much as you want, but don’t wallow in it forever.”
“ You don’t need them to love you, because if they don’t now, they probably won’t ever…or at least thats what mommy says after daddy left…”
He added, recalling what his mom spoke after the unfortunate leave of his dad. Thats all you really scraped together from gossip and context. But…that kid made you feel heard. Even through anecdotes from his heartbroken mother, he didn’t say suck it up orr walk away like any normal kid should’ve.
And what more? He also patted you on the back, repeatedly whispering things you would hear as a child when you get hurt; like “don’t cry”, or “it’s wkright, I’m here”.
As sweet as the gesture was, it also just made you cry even more, sobbing for a good two minutes as timmie sat beside you with a worried but beaming face.
After your crying fit, he poked your shoulder to make yiu face him, and he simply smiled at you, standing up and whisking away one pigeon from his army. He put it in his hands, and extended them forward.
“If you’re done hurting, you can go. Someone else needs the comfort too, and if you ever feel like you’ll fall into the water like you did before, this birdy will be with you.”
Maybe this is the day you’ll learn kids can be wiser than people.
Notes:
This was a really indulgetn chapter to the wisdom kids hold. And also just a lit of my timmie love, boy deserves some appreciation
I promise ill be back next week or so with another chapter, xoxo!!!
