Chapter Text
Iris stood back as she watched Barry adjust the painting they made a couple days ago and smiled.
“I love it.” She whispered, as he stepped back to stand beside her.
“Yeah. It’s not bad at all. Looks like it was done by a professional.”
He turned to look at her and noticed she was squinting at the painting before bursting out in laughter.
“What? What is it?” He asked.
She was doubled over in laughter, clutching her sides. When she stood straight, she had tears streaming down her face. Barry couldn’t quite figure out what she found so hilarious. When she did finally compose herself she dragged him closer to the painting and pointed at a specific area.
“I’m pretty sure that’s your dick imprint right there. And my nipples. Well at least one of them anyway.”
Barry’s head swung in the direction of the painting and his eyes followed where she was pointing. He gasped when he noticed it.
“Well damn. Do you think anyone will notice?”
She shrugged her shoulders.
“Who cares. We made it together and I love it.”
She pulled him into a kiss, her hand immediately moving down to his cock, instantly springing it to life. He placed his hand over hers, pressing it into him, loving the feeling of her hand on him.
“We have a few hours before anyone is supposed to be here.” He whispered against her lips.
“Let’s make it count, then.”
He spun her around and was about to enter her from behind when she told him to stop.
“We just cleaned yesterday and we don’t have time today to do a deep clean on the couch. Upstairs. No one will be in our bedroom.”
“Okay. Go!”
They sprinted upstairs, frantically discarding their clothing along the way.
Ever since their talk on Friday, when Barry told her how helpless he felt hearing about the shooting and how scared he was at the thought of losing her, Iris couldn’t get enough of him. All she’s ever wanted was to feel like someone’s top priority and here he was telling her that she was his. It changed something in her and turned her on more than he could ever know. They ended their date in the early hours of the next morning entwined in each other. For the first time since they got together, Barry actually turned her down at 4:30am, with a promise to resume their activities if she would allow him a couple of hours to rest and recover. They spent the better half of the next morning and early afternoon in bed before finally making it to the shower. They had to leave to get groceries and do a deep clean of their loft since they had been intimate on every surface of it.
At the grocery store, she backed him up against a door in the freezer aisle when he placed a few of her favourite items in their cart without her asking. They quickly pulled apart when they heard a little girl ask her mom what they were doing. They looked up and saw a couple in their forties with what looked like their five year old daughter. The wife looked pissed but her husband looked amused. Barry apologized to them and continued shopping, still stealing kisses and copping a feel of her boob or ass every now and then. The family caught them a few times and other than a very disapproving look from the wife but approving looks from the husband, they said nothing. During one of the few times where he and Iris had split up, Barry overheard the couple arguing. Apparently the wife wanted to speak to the manager about kicking them out of the store but her husband was opposed to the idea. Something about forgetting what it was like to be young and in love. Barry quickly grabbed what he needed and hurried over to Iris, explaining to her the situation they seemed to have found themselves in. Luckily, she had just picked up the last few things on their list so their shopping trip was near the end. They checked out quickly and headed to their car, packing their bags into the car and quickly got in. Barry checked the rear-view mirror for the couple and saw they emerged with who he assumes is the store manager. They were looking for them and when they couldn’t be found the manager left. He could tell by the couple’s body language that they were arguing about them.
“That was close.” Barry breathed out as they made their way onto the main road. He looked over at Iris to see her bottom lip trapped between her teeth, her stare intensely set on him.
“Iris.”
She snapped out of her trance.
“Yeah. Crazy.”
“Are you even listening to me? What’s going on with you? We’ve been having sex non-stop all weekend. Not that I’m complaining or anything.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Iris. Throughout our relationship I’ve been the more, let’s say, aggressive one when it comes to PDA and sex. But this weekend, you’re the one who’s insatiable. Again, I’m not complaining at all. I’d just like us to be on the same page if we were to get arrested for public indecency or something along those lines.”
He chuckled, letting her know that he wasn’t upset by her actions. Just curious.
She sighed, looking over at him before speaking.
“Promise you won’t judge me?”
“Of course.”
“Well you know my history with guys and how I’ve always ended things over the littlest things. How it all stemmed from not feeling like a priority to my dad growing up.”
“Yeah.”
“Well, I don’t know what it is but when you told me on Friday how you felt about the thought of losing me, it…”
She huffed out a sigh. She was nervous and playing with her engagement ring. Barry reached over and entwined their fingers together.
“You can tell me.”
She sighed again and squeezed his fingers.
“It turned me on. Okay. More than anything ever has.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. It made me feel special and wanted and I’d never had that before. I never saw myself getting married or wanting to start a family. And now I’m engaged to you and I’m actually excited about one day having your babies. And to have the man I’m actually going to marry some day say that just did something inside of me. It’s like, I know you love me and want to marry but hearing you say how devastated you would have been if something happened to me that day, it made me realize exactly how deep your love for me really is. And I’ve never had that before. And I feel like words aren’t enough to tell you exactly how much it means to me so sex has been how I say what my words can’t. It’s also my favourite form of communication with you.”
He brought her hand to his lips and kissed her fingers.
“Choosing you is an easy thing for me. I will choose you every day until my dying breath.”
She kissed his hand back, smiling all the way home.
They managed to clean their space only getting distracted once or twice.
Barry debated pulling her zipper down, allowing her dress fall to the floor to ravage her again but their day started later than they wanted to because they couldn’t keep their hands off each other and their guests would be here in the next ten minutes, so he pulled it up, following her out as she went over their list for their party.
“Okay, the quiche is the oven. The wine and beer are in the fridge and the candles are on the table.”
“Good.”
He finally got her zipper up and slipped his hands in his pockets to avoid the urge to touch her again.
“Oh my god. Oh my god.”
She turned to face him, a look of worry covering her beauty.
“What?”
“I forgot the ice.”
Barry held up a finger to her and walked over to the freezer.
“I didn’t see any so I picked some up while you were in the shower earlier.”
He handed it over to her and smiled.
“Babe, you’ve never been sexier.”
He grinned at her.
“I know!”
She leaned forward, intending to give him a small peck but like their entire weekend, it quickly deepened. He had leaned into her hand at his crotch when their doorbell rang. They pulled back, both out of breath before she whispered, “Saved by the bell.” He grinned at her, bringing his fingers to her mouth to swipe some of the lipgloss he had smeared. She looked down at him, suggesting he adjust himself before they opened the door.
The party had been going nicely. All their friends and family came to celebrate with them. There was plenty of food and drinks to keep everyone happy. All throughout the evening, every time Barry passed by Iris, either she would lean in for a kiss or he would. If they were in conversation with someone, a gentle caress of their hands which Barry would ultimately bring to his lips to kiss.
Cisco noticed and pointed it out to Linda.
“Look at that. Every time those two pass each other, they kiss.”
“Well it’s Barry and Iris. That’s nothing new, Cisco.”
“No. I’m telling you. It’s every. single. time. Watch.”
They stood there watching them for a moment. Linda turns to Cisco with a mischievous look on her face.
“Hmm. Let’s make this interesting. Every time they walk by each other and kiss, we take a shot.”
“Now that’s what I’m talking about.”
They sat in a corner quietly observing their hosts and every time a kiss was exchanged, a shot was taken. They were easily becoming intoxicated and at quite a fast pace. Cynthia and Wally had been watching them for a while now and after a while, they both realized what they were doing. They walked over at the same time to assess how intoxicated they were.
“Hey guys.”
Linda and Cisco looked at them, blinking a few times before they registered who he was.
“Heeyyy girl!” Cisco slurred.
“Heeyyy Baby!” Linda cooed, attempting to wink at Wally.
He steadied Cisco who tried standing to give him a hug.
“Okay. Just sit.”
As soon as he got Cisco seated, Linda stood to her feet and tried to walk over to him seductively.
“Heeey loverrrrrr.”
“Baby doll, what’s going on?”
“Well we…are playing a game.”
Linda gestured to herself and Cisco, swinging the bottle of tequila in her hand.
“Really? What kind of game are you playing?”
“A ssshot for a kissssss!” Cisco slurred.
Cynthia looked over to Wally, confused by what her boyfriend was saying. “A shot for a kiss?”
“Well Cisco noticed that all night, every time Barry and Iris walk by each other, they kiss. So we decided to take a shot every time that happens.”
“And you’re already drunk? We’ve only been here for an hour.”
Cisco snickered and shrugged his shoulders.
“They kiss a lot.”
He hiccuped and whispered, “SHOT!”
He and Linda tossed back a shot and snickered.
“Oh lord.”
Wally waited until they downed their last shot and snatched their glasses out of their hands while Cynthia stole the bottle out of Linda’s before she could refill their glasses.
“Hey! You’re ruiningning our game.”
“Linda, sweetheart, you’re drunk. Ruiningning is not a word.”
Linda looked up at him and squinted.
“Are you sure? I think I’m right. I mean, I am a freaking journalist. I have to use words all the time. Big words too.”
She fell into a fit of giggles.
“Yes, I’m sure.”
Wally pinched the bridge of his nose. He was in for a long night. Whenever Linda got this drunk, she became either argumentative or super flirty. He hopes in vain for neither but he’s better equipped to handle the latter today.
“For fuck’s sake. I’m supposed to be the dumb jock.” He muttered to himself.
Iris walked up to talk to Linda when she noticed the scowl on Wally’s face.
“What’s that look for?”
“This is your fault they’re like this.”
“How the hell is this my fault, Wal?”
Just then Barry walked up and kissed Iris. He luckily caught a giggling Cisco before he fell over.
“Is he drunk?”
“Yep. Wanna know why?”
Wally stood and looked at Barry, pointing a finger at him.
“He and Linda are like this because you two can’t keep your damn lips to yourselves.”
“What?” Barry and Iris asked. They were clearly confused by how this somehow got to be their fault.
Cynthia pointed to Cisco and Linda, rolling her eyes at their attempt to tell a secret to each other. “These geniuses made up a game to take a shot every time you two kiss.”
“We did not kiss that many times for them to be that drunk already. Did we?” Barry looked over to Iris for confirmation but was met with uncertainty.
Iris caught Linda as she tried to stand to her feet.
“Yes you did. We even took two shots after you guys snuck back into the laundry room for a quickie.”
Barry and Iris balked at the fact that they were caught but quickly shook it off. Iris chuckled at Linda and shook her head.
“What? Girl, no. We, no…we went back there for…”
Barry piped in, speaking too quickly because he was nervous. “Drinks! We were getting low on drinks. Specifically tequila because you guys had the bottle. We have the extra drinks in there. In the spare…”
“Laundry room.”
“Right. Spare laundry room.”
“Yeah. Exactly.”
Wally looked at them both and shook his head.
“You’re both terrible liars.”
He sighed as Linda began to dance against him. He shook his head. She always thought her drunk dancing was seductive but she looked more like a toddler in the middle of a sugar high shortly before crashing.
“I’ve got to get her home.”
“Yeah. I should get him home to bed if we have any hope of meeting you guys for brunch tomorrow.”
Cisco leaned forward when Cynthia stepped in to take him off of Barry's hands and kissed her on the lips.
“Hey look. We’re Barry and Iris.”
Barry’s eyes went wide and he quickly walked over to his best friend.
He started to giggle and began singing the first few lines of Apt. by Rosé and Bruno Mars.
Kissy face, kissy face sent to your phone, but
I'm tryna kiss your lips for real (uh-huh, uh-huh)
“I’ll help you get him to your car.”
“Good. You take him.”
Barry tried to grab Cisco to help him out to Cynthia’s car but he dodged him and grabbed Cynthia’s hand.
“Come. Let’s go make out in the laundry room like they did.”
She managed to pull him back and after a bit of coaxing, successfully ushered him out the door, following a pouting Linda and ever patient Wally out.
When Barry turned after shutting the door, his parents walked up to him with Iris.
“Hey! What’s going on?” Barry asks.
“Well Casanova, we’re heading out. Your mom and I both have an early morning.”
Barry turned red as he hugged his father who was enjoying his son’s discomfort.
“Next time you need to gag him. He’s too loud.” Barry’s mom whispered in her ear while hugging her. She pulled back, with a smile on her face to a shocked and embarrassed Iris.
“Thanks for having us. We love the changes you guys made. And that painting…”
Iris watched as her soon to be mother-in-law turned to check out their painting. She was still in shock at her suggestion.
“So unique. Compliments your space perfectly. You must tell me where you got it. I think something like that would fit nicely in my study. Don’t you think, Henry?”
“Actually, Mom, that piece is a one of a kind so unfortunately you won’t be able to get another like it.”
“Well I’m sure I could convince the artist to do one for me.”
“I don’t think you can. He only does original pieces. Hates the idea of mass production.”
Nora looked forlorn. “That’s too bad. It really is exceptional. You really have good taste, Iris.”
“Thanks but Barry and I, uh, collaborated on this one together.”
“She means we decided on it together.”
He looked at her as if she were revealing too much. She just shrugged her shoulders and replied to Nora.
“Gotta give credit where credit is due.”
They said their goodbyes as their friends and family left one by one. At the end of the night, once the dishes were washed and candles were snuffed out, they crashed onto the couch, staring up at their painting.
“Do you really think we kiss too much?” Barry asked.
“No. And you’d better not try to withhold your kisses, mister.”
“From you? Never.”
“Good.”
They fell back into a comfortable silence before Iris spoke up again.
“Hey Babe?”
"Yeah?"
“I think everyone heard us having sex. Your mom told me that I needed to gag you next time.”
“She did not.”
“Yes she absolutely did.”
Barry refused to believe Iris until later the following week when he opened up the mail and saw a card addressed to them from his parents.
“My parents sent us a thank you card for inviting them to our housewarming.”
“Aww. That was nice of them.”
“Oh I think there’s something else in the envelope.”
“What is it?”
Iris looked up when Barry didn’t immediately answer her to see him beet red in the face.
“What is it?”
He said nothing while he handed over a gift certificate to a sex shop downtown with a note that said,
Barry and Iris,
Sorry for the late housewarming gift. We didn't know what to get you until after we left.
Love, Mom and Dad
Iris laughed when she read the note.
“At least no one noticed your dick imprint.”
