Chapter 1: The romance part
Chapter Text
‘Hahh, this is tiring..’
Nelly sighed, she moved his shoulders in a rotating motion. She is safe to do this as she was obscured in the corner of the celebration hall, she was absolutely not slacking–no way….
Nelly is an upstanding citizen of the Roan Kingdom, she is a hard and fine servant of her country. However, Nelly is seething in rage, she has been absolutely scammed!
A friend of hers recommended this position as a part-time job. She is a daughter who is supporting her mother who is sick and little brother who eats a lot, so she needs to work. As the kingdom is celebrating the end of the cultural exchange celebration–or more specifically, they are making this a farewell party for the 4th Imperial Prince who is a participant in this event. It's not strange that there are envoys from different kingdoms as it is the point of this event but the Empire has been ignoring this tradition for over 20 years now.
She is a lowly citizen with no power whatsoever but she is not clueless.
However, this year they sent someone and this discussion caused a stir on the continent. But, contrary to all excitement, they send the 4th Imperial Prince who is known for his stupidity and indifferent attitude. And this made the whole event tense and awkward, they are making fun of the Roan Kingdom!!! Some nobles definitely thought as she heard them whispering about it plenty of times during the duration of this celebration but the royal family is being silent about it.
Nelly thought that they probably didn't have the power to go against the empire if they retaliated. Despite the Roan Kingdom’s prestige it is a known fact that it is average in everything. Nelly is not insulting her kingdom but it's just the truth, many people will nod their head to her she is sure about that.
Her hands are numb from carrying wine and her feets are sore from walking across the spacious room. It's almost the end of her shift but she walks to the hallway connecting to the staff quarters to end her shift early, no one would notice her disappearing anyway.
“Mhhm”
A breathy and muffled noise reached her ears.
She stops on her tracks. Huh? She definitely heard that. Nelly hesitated, she debated to just go pass it and ignore but a high pitch noise crumble her resolved, it's probably not right as almost everyone on this celebration is someone who has high status and could probably execute her for her impudence but she couldn't just resist the enticement of gossip. It's been silent all evening. The reason she took this job is to sniff out some drama in the upper class society–some juicy scandal that is worth much.
“Mphmm.”
Nelly took an opposite turn and peek out of one of the pillars. And the sight almost gave her a heart attack. She clenched the container in her hand. ‘T-there's no way....’
Her eyes trembles by the sight that greeted her. She is still thinking that she is hallucinating. That this is some elaborate illusion that is playing cruelly in her eyes but she is not that important to be personally attacked like that–plus certainly not a sight like this!!
There in the edge of the hallway, behind the heavy and thick white curtains hanging on the window, obscure by the darkness is definitely her own kingdom’s crown prince and the 4th Imperial Prince! What the heck?!!
The two people are locked in a passionate embrace, bodies pressed tightly together. The blond’s back is pressed into the wall and his hand in between the small space that separates them together, hesitating between pushing the other man away or pulling them impossibly closer. The person pressed on the wall is flushed brightly and couldn't contain the noise he is making despite his efforts, his back arching to take more of the kiss.
The person’s pristine clothes, as she remembers it being so clean and neat when he entered the ball, are now crumpled and buttoned down to his collarbone, exposing his skin that is littered in love bites. All of Nelly’s blood rushed to her face making her lightheaded.
She froze in shock, she had never seen something so, so debauched in her entire life! Other than that Nelly is sure that the person pressing Crown Prince Alberu an Omega is the 4th Imperial Prince an Alpha. She knows this because of his silver hair that stands out to the dark corner of the hallway, his uniform as the Empire’s envoy is also noticeable. ‘T-this will make the whole kingdom chaotic, no, even the whole continent!!’
‘“W-w-what is this???” she squawks, unable to contain her aghast reaction.
Nelly had a hard time comprehending on what he was seeing. Her mind immediately does some mental gymnastics. From the gossips and rumors that she got, the two absolutely despises each other, they dont have that much interaction in some public events so why the fuck is the two princes kissing each other??? No, can it be called kissing when they are kissing so much that they might have devoured each other?!
The two stopped what they were heatedly doing. The imperial prince swiveled his gaze to her. His face is calm and blank, his cheeks are lightly colored and his lips are red from the activities. His hands did not leave the creases of the blond’s hair. Nelly immediately lowered her gaze, mortification running to her veins at being caught. There is a soft thump and a loud gulping of air, she refuses to turn to her nation’s crown prince and her face heats up.
“I–I'm sorry sirs!!” she shouted and immediately ran off without hearing for response and only stopped when she was in a considerable distance between the two.
Her heart is beating so fast in her chest as excitement–when the mortification and horror drain from her body courses through her . ‘This!..this is what she has been waiting for!!’
She hastily calmed herself and was forced to tear her gaze from the two lovebirds. She needs to tell her friend about this. She is sure that she would be thrilled, Hah! Nelly stealthy resumes the hallway she is walking to the staff quarters, new energy and inspiration in her heart.
Meanwhile……
When the lady servant hastily leaves, practically sprinting out of the scene she has to walk to Callien hands slide down to Alberu’s lower back to keep him from buckling and crushing down the floor. He gulps air when he remembers to breathe.
‘T-that bastard! He said that it would be light so why cant i breath?!!!’
Alberu is pissed that he has been lied to and he makes sure his glare gets the message across, “haah….hah…haahh.”
Callien chuckles and tilts his head. He smirks, quietly laughing at the state of his appearance. Alberu’s face flushed red and his lips are puff with a wet shine to it.. “ your royal highness, do you think our ‘kiss’ would sell to the lady?”
“What..hah..do you think you're a bastard?”
Callien shakes his head and clicks his tongue as if disappointed. “ such course language yu highness what would the people think?”
“I’m sure they will change by tomorrow, your imperial highness.” Alberu answered sweetly through gritted teeth. ‘This punk is younger than me but he is too disrespectful!’
“I hope so, it would definitely make my father happy. That's certain.” Callein laughed. “As a thank you, your highness, what do you want me to do?”
Alberu’s feet trembled. Callien leaned to him, “ Do you want more kisses?”
He had enough and shoved the other male as hard as he could, Callien laughed as he stumbled.

Summary:
Alberu held up his hand. Just.wait.a.minute. Alberu had a hard time processing the words that came out from the Imperial Prince. He is so flabbergasted that the only thing he processes is the possibility of marriage to be divorced.

Chapter Text
The second gender of people is something accepted in the world. It is akin to the acceptance of people regarding the blind, it is unfortunate but it is inevitable–it is just there.Second gender is one of the most brushed aside and considered as an afterthought, when the people of Roan Kingdom have conflicts the 2nd gender are not something that they would care or put their attention to. Obviously, not everyone is like that, there is always someone that wants to point it out and degrade people but it is seldom seen in the country.. It is true in Roan Kingdom.
It is widely accepted whether you are an Alpha , an Omega , or a Beta. It does not matter in the grand scheme of things, however,it's not always like this. This kind of mindset is only implemented by the grandfather of the current king, and soon followed by other kingdoms because of how progressive the Roan Kingdom was by this change of laws and mindset, this transition is not made easy either as the people in power is often opposes in this kind of change they can't control.
Almost everyone in the Eastern Continent has widely accepted second genders and equality in their treatment and stop putting stigma and stereotypes against the weaker second gender. Almost everyone except for the exception of the one and only Empire in the continent.
Mogoru Empire still widely followed the harsh and traditional aspect of the second genders. The imperial citizens and their monarch are still considered an Omega despite how intelligent or clever they are unfit to lead. They still think that an Omega is someone to be owned , because they are incapable on their own. Although it is now less intense than before because of the influence of the other kingdoms, thankfully .
This kind of traditional unchanged mindset is what worries Alberu the most, if it comes to it, it doesn't really concern him that much. He is an Omega crown Prince and no one contested his rights because of his second gender. The only thing that is different to him is his ability to give birth, and it's not something he wants to explore.not when he is a dark elf in hiding, a crown prince that is a dark elf.
Alberu sighed. He put down his quail gently. His wrist aches from doing too much writing and his shoulders are numb from how much he is sitting. However, despite how he wants to work, he can't really focus on being productive.
The 4th Imperial Prince’s face, with his silver hair and brown-red eyes keep flashing to his head. He really has a bad feeling about that person.
‘ I can't figure him out. He is either an ally or an enemy.’
The imperial prince is giving him some weird vibes and he just knows that it is a bad idea to let his guard down around him. The first week of the Exchange Student Program has not ended and Alberu is already sporting a headache. He recalled the conversation that he had with the 4th Imperial Prince 3 days ago ……
“What did you just say?....” Alberu gaped ridiculously. What the hell did he just hear? For a second he thought that he had gone deaf because he couldn't possibly be hearing this kind of bullshit this early in the morning. “Could you please repeat that?”
4th imperial Prince Callien tilts his head, his brow furrowed as if he is confused that Alberu couldn't possibly understand what he is staying. Alberu wants to smack him for some reason.“ I said , if you are viable for a betrothed your Highness? ”
“ And pray tell, why are you asking your imperial highness?”
“ Why of course , I am going to offer myself.”
Alberu's mind stopped working.the sky is green and the grass is blue. What the fu–
“Excuse me?” He choked. “ You're offering what?”
“ A betrothed . “ Callien added, as if he needed to justify it more. “ It will be extremely beneficial for you, your Highness. I am a person of power and I can elevate your status, firmly establishing your hold in your position as the official crown prince and future king. I know there are a lot of families who are….pestering you for your hand, I am as well and it's getting annoying. I just see the possibility of this alliance.. Of course, this is only a contract if you want a divor—”
Alberu held up his hand. Just.wait.a.minute. Alberu had a hard time processing the words that came out from the Imperial Prince. He is so flabbergasted that the only thing he processes is the possibility of marriage to be divorced.
He feels like he needs to say it so Alberu does. “Divorce is only for married partners.”
The imperial prince stares at him with a blank stare and shrugs in one shoulder, he nonchalantly states.“ We're going to get married obviously”
‘ this bastard.’
A vein almost popped in Alberu’s forehead. He is so speechless that he can't come up with intelligent words. He keeps opening his mouth to say something but unable to come up with anything. All the manners and etiquette drilled to him since the moment he can walk is washed away because of shock.
Alberu was ripped from his musing when there was a knock on the door. The voice of the royal guard then heard.
“ Your Royal Highness, the 4th Imperial Prince is requesting an audience.”
Alberu stopped. What is he doing here??? Visiting unannounced at that. However, if he turned this visit down it would be an insult and became an issue for the kingdom. He doesn't know the other prince well, might as well be cautious. He also needs to know what his intention is, a further conversation is clearly needed.
Alberu stands up at his work desk and walks to the couches to greet a guest.
“Let him in.”
The door went silent then a creak. The 4th Imperial Prince entered with the same air of casual and sure that he cloaked himself the last time they talked. He made himself home in one of the guest couches in the room. Alberu looked toward him , questioning him with his gaze.
Callien pulls out a small vial from his pocket. It was in dark color and it smells–
Alberu stiffen. His heart starts to beat irrationally, his breath comes in swallow intake. His mind became chaotic. No. No.
Callien who is either ignorant or ignoring Alberu's distress smell that is starting to fill the room. He started to speak, “ I'm sure you recognise this, your Highness.”
Alberu's eyes sank cold. His mind is running a mile per hour. Trying to find ways on how to salvage this situation. However, only bleak endings come to mind. Cold sweats start to gather at the back of his neck and forehead.
“ What do you want?”
Alberu bit his lips. Despair at the edge of his vision. Despite his initial dislike toward this person, Callien’s title as a 4th Imperial Prince starts to sink to his mind. The Roan Kingdom can't afford to fight the empire, nor willing to when he would be revealed to be a dark Elf.
‘ What do you want in exchange to keep this a secret’
Is what Alberu wants to say but , if that happens then he would be a slave (he refuses to dwell too much on the possibility that he would be a slave in every kind) this kingdom would become a servant to the empire and Alberu doesn't want that.
Killing the prince himself also crossed his mind but he is not certain how he would fair against the prince. He is a deceitful person who hides himself. There are many unknown things to him , and he can't take the risk to earn his ire if that happens.
“hm?” Callien shook his head. “ No , you misunderstand. This is a gift from your highness.”
Alberu froze. A gift?
“ I have known your….. secret's for a considerable time.”
‘ I know and I keep it. Now what can you give me in exchange’ is what Alberu heard.
“I see…..” He said slowly. He forced himself to swallow his dry mouth. “What do you intend me to do?”
It would be safer to go to the Imperial Prince's whims and demands, search for weakness when the time is right and hold it like a leash to bind him. A person of his status is never perfect, there's probably a lot of skeletons in his imperial closet. That's what he specializes in, he just needs to tighten his timing.
He just hopes it would not be what he is thinking. He really does.
Callien answered instantly. “ Agree with the arrangement then we get married.”
Alberu scowled but quickly erased it. “ What exactly does this marriage entail?”
Callien stays silent and blink at him like it's his first time seeing him. “Oh, I see. I apologize for your highness of my oversight. I did not properly explain my proposal to you.”
‘ yeah I figured’
Alberu carelessly waved his hand in a ‘go on’ motion.
The Imperial Prince relaxes on the soft cushion. “ I do not have a plan to succeed the throne.”
To be truly honest, Alberu is shocked. The current emperor of the Mogoro empire has 4 children. The eldest, Crown Prince Adin, is an alpha and is highly favoured by the emperor. The 2nd Imperial Princess is an Omega. She is a great scholar and is formidable in politics but was cast aside as a successor immediately upon taking the second gender test. The 3rd Imperial Prince is also an Omega and is treated poorly despite his great achievement. On the other hand, the 4th Imperial Prince Callien is more favoured despite his not so spotless reputation.
But that still didn't answer Alberu's question.
He continued, “ I no longer want to be associated with the empire.”
“.....are you going to renounce your titles?” came Alberu's surprised answer. This conversation is not exactly going to be planned.
Callien looks at him like he is the crazy one. “ No of course not , that would be a waste. I am going to take advantage to an old law of the empire, since the empire value Alpha so much they are out in the pedestal there is a law that an Alpha can choose who they marry and decide whether they would stay with their spouse or the vice versa, Omegas couldn't do the same however, they would always follow their Alphas.”
“ So you're saying that , If I married you you're the one who will move in with me and not the other way around?”
It's not hard to understand, if his spouse is a native citizen of Roan Kingdom then Alberu would keep his status and not submit to his Alpha since second genders don't have a say in the throne laws. But it's another thing if the other person is a prince, not only an ordinary Prince but an imperial prince!
“Exactly!” Callien smiled, he was satisfied that the crown prince understood. “ I am not a threat to you, believe me your highness. I'm just going to be your…mhm…I guess it's not wrong to say that I'm going to be your trophy wife!”
Alberu's brain Short circuit. “You're my what?”
????????!!!!!!!!!
All proprietary was thrown out the window and Alberus' mouth hung open.
“I know things that many people don't your highness. If you promise to be my betrothed i will help you rise in your power. “ Callien promised. A slight smile on his face. “ additionally, i know of your secret already your highness.”
“From what I see it. You have me at a disadvantage.”
“Not really. You don't know your importance, your highness.”
“I won't be swayed by such words.” Alberu snorted.
“I am not lying. I just need to be on his highness side.” the imperial Prince smiles with that fake sincerity.
It's weird. This all exchange is. The longer that Alberu sat and continued to talk he realised that the Imperial Prince really really wanted to be with Alberu for some unknown reason. He could threaten Alberu and have his way but he never did, not explicitly stated but Alberu Knew so he couldn't easily trust that.
Here is that fact that he gathered;
The 4th Imperial Prince doesn't want to associate himself with the empire.
If he is reading this person correctly then there must be something going on inside the empire that this shrewd person doesn't want to get involved with. However, there is also a possibility that the Roan Kingdom could be sweeped by the chaos just by associating with this person. But, it could be advantageous for him too, if used correctly.
The 4th Imperial Prince want to be with Alberu, the nation’s crown prince.
It might be a power move, Alberu is not sure but the prince dislikes the empire enough that he couldn't be a spy and he knew Alberu’s secret already and does not report it or arrest Alberu himself. There could be more reasons that he is not seeing but he could take advantage of this too. As long as Alberu held the Imperial Prince;s interest in his hand then he could still win.
Alberu made up with his mind. “ I can't trust it just yet. Come back to me again with something of worth then I'll think about it.”
Callien paused, contemplating. For a while he sighed and answered seriously. “ I expected this, you're quite greedy, your highness. Is the dead mana not enough?”
Alberu tenses lightly.
“But it is not a bad thing. A ruler need to be greedy once in a while.” the imperial prince chuckled. “ alright, ill be back in a few days and give his highness something valuable.”
Callien stands up and walks to the door. “ I'll leave that to your care, get stronger, your highness. Goodbye.”
As he heard the door click closed, that's when Alberu started to breathe. He clench and unclench his sweaty palm. He is quite angry right now. He hates being at a disadvantage. He bit the inside of his mouth and look at the dead mana sitting innocently at the table.
“The 4th imperial prince…..”
he didn't know what to do with such person.

Chapter Text
Alberu has been fond of fairy tales, once .
He always liked how it always ended in happy endings. How, all the problems they faced always ended up resolved in the end,the world moving around the main characters, to make a space for them.
He remembered, on his mother’s lap, propped up and back laid to her chest, she didn't miss a night in bringing a book and reading it to him before he slept.
That's the only time Alberu cares for such fantasies, it's when his mother reads for him. Its her voice that made it more real to Alberu.
It became the most fascinating thing that happened in his childhood. It motivates him to finish up his lessons much earlier than intended, but of course a child needs to grow up. And he did .
The time his mother died, he stopped caring about almost every fantasy just like a few things that died along with her.
The whole world stopped for him and all colors have vanished in front of his eyes except it never did stop, it's just his . His father remarries and everyone in the palace moves on. Like a mean and cruel play.
It seems like his aunt is the only one who could understand him, but it's different, he is Alberu's aunt, he loves her unconditionally. She is family, Alberu’s one of the last living.
As time passed, he learned it was enough.
He should be grateful that someone still loves him, he knows. But he can't stop the small animal gnawing inside the deepest part of his being that yearns to be known, to be acknowledged, to be loved. And its tragedy is that he is the only one who knows, because everyone is just content to know him, not him.
And, he should be content with that also, it's enough.
But, sometimes , in his darkest nights he fears that no one will and it will never be enough. The only solace that he has is that only the wind and him knows, somehow the humiliation and fear doesn't recede.
That's why he is conflicted when he is confronted by the 4th Imperial Prince's offer. It sounds great and very very suspicious.
Good things don't just happen to Alberu unprompted and free of debt. In the end, it will always go wrong. If they look deeper enough they will see something wrong and rotten then leave.
Alberu shuffles the documents that he procured about the law that the prince mentioned.
That is why, he never takes the proposal at face value, a gold mine is offered in his lap and he is clever enough on how to use it.
The empire did have their rules, and extensively at that. Almost every law and legislation of secondary genders caters to the Alphas and denotes Omega and stripped them of their rights. It disgust him, on how backward the supposedly most advanced country in the continent.
The Empire.
The only Empire on the continent and it's the most close minded one. How many talented and valuable individuals have been brushed aside or in hiding for the sake of old and nasty laws. The Omega in him bristled at the Injustice but the ruler that had been trained is furious at the unfair treatment of its people.
This is also the reason why he is baffled that the Imperial Prince chose to defect and renounce his place in the Imperial Family to be married to him, a prince of a nation like Roan Kingdom.
It doesn't make sense at all. No matter how many perspectives he takes, the 4th Imperial Prince’s action just doesn't make any sense. There is no advantage gained to be made for a prince like him tying himself to the kingdom. This dilemma is Alberu’s current source of unending headache.
He gramice and massage hid the temple when the headache arrived. He is not delusional to say that Roan is a strong country.
It may not be the weakest but it's not strong either. It is only a mediocre kingdom with nothing special about except for their impressive border.
Not only that but he wishes to marry him.
In his teenage years, his Father and the Queen continually pester him to find an Alpha to marry. There's a list for him that the Queen Mother arranged and it's from bad to worse that Alberu fought for his life against his face twisting in disbelief and anger.
Most of the people he recommended are those who have more…. traditional views of the second gender. Because no matter how open-minded Roan Kingdom has become about the topic of second genders there are still a miniscule number of individuals who treat it like some clear vision of hierarchy in a natural order of life.
Of course, Alpha at the peak and Omega's at the bottom.
Alberu is not naive and definitely knows what the Queen Mother is doing, he is planning. Selling him to the highest bidder and Noble Alpha's who are after the benefit of being connected to the royal family.
He does nothing but grit his teeth and swallow his anger lest being accused of being controlled by his hormones by being easily irate because Omega are highly sensitive, and should be treated with cautious which is blatantly false, in this sense Alpha are the one who is highly emotionally sensitive judging by their aggression and prone to violence.
He says none of that and his Father neither. Who just watched the whole conversation silently with no inflection on what he is thinking, and his brothers who observed with glee. The whole family is a lost cause.
He sighed deeply. Alberu erased the thought provoking memories in his mind and shifted his attention to the current problem that needed to be addressed. The married proposal– well it is still a betrothal but it will end up in marriage anyway.
Alberu didn't really have that kind of ... . trauma regarding Alphas, but he still has some instinctual need to defer and obey them and Alberu is cautious on how that would be used against him if he would be with the Imperial Prince. He doesn't have a clear view on what his baseline personality is yet , so technically he can't form an opinion yet but it didn't stop his heart quickly beating and the hairs at the back of his neck rising.
However, the illogical part of him, the Omega in him purr in satisfaction that someone–an Alpha is giving him romantic attention and intent after surprising it most of his life.
It's ruining his life.
He is sure it's not romantic , he insisted that part clearly but it never mattered in the deepest instinct of him. All attention is the same, this is probably his instinct going haywire because he is sure that this is not supposed to happen.
There are probably multiple unspoken queues to Alberu but he remained ignorant ( or at least some of it–), he never really paid that much attention to it. He never planned to indulge himself with romantic escapades nor take a spouse. But, on the other hand, it also has its advantages.
With their relationship purely business, except for the actions and thoughtfulness that need to be. Done in order to be believable they didn't really need to act on the part of being real couples. It gives Alberu some space to breathe. There is no expectation towards him except for those given already.
Alberu rolled his shoulder. His back and shoulder aching from prolonged stillness. Too much time has passed and still much work to be done and his eyes are already burning from doing much reading he has been doing.
If his aunt visited he would have already twisted the outer shell of his ears and dragged him to bed if she knew how many hours he's been working. Fortunately, she's not, so he can work as long as he pleases (ie, until he collapses, yes its not really the epitome of health but there is so much going on–). Summer is really the worst for paperworks, everyone wants to do something .
( It's also a way for him to take his mind somewhere else)
He leaned back in his chair, tipped his head and collided softly in the crown of the chair with a soft thunk.
Alberu is a sensible and responsible person.
He really should need to take a break.
He can already hear the exasperation and threatening words of his aunt at the back of his head. And Alberu is mildly irritated, how come she's not here but still like she is, telling him what to do. He's an adult, for dragons sake!
He decided to take a break.
Alberu turned around his study desk and grabbed his cloak draped on the couch. He inserted both his arms and opened his door. He hears that the Sapphire Garden’s blooming season hasn't ended yet. Well some of it.
Also, his aunt frequently advises him to take a walk anyway he might as well.
Alberu is peacefully sitting at one of the gazebo in the garden to stare at the still blooming flowers.
No thoughts just staring plainly and feeling the comforting cold breeze that the air carried across the large pond in the middle of the garden.
Now that he thinks about it, it's been a long time since he visited this place that some infrastructure is new to him. Even this gazebo that he is currently using as a shade has been renovated to be more modern looking, matching the aesthetic of the palaces.
Then, the pond must have something new too. Alberu made up his mind to visit but before he could stand up. Hush voices reached his ears.
Alberu sat back and listened. As far as he knew, no one entered the garden this time around. But then he remembered that the exchange program of the Roan Academy is currently going–how could he forget such an important event.
His tiredness must be affecting him more than he thought, if he is missing this event. Heck, it is also an explanation why the 4th Imperial Prince is here–he is the representative for the Empire.
Naturally, there are going to be plenty of people who would like to visit the Sapphire garden. Although it is not such a public place but that just mean it its not for the general public–of course the envoy from different nation can, for better diplomatic relationship and all that.
“--stop it, are you my caretak–”
“ –young master respect–”
“Oh, the sass where did you learn that? Has Veckross been rubbing off you? I thought you too don’t get along, has that cha–”
“Sir, with my full disrespect don't lump me–
Alberu made his presence hidden and listened to the conversation–or rather argument and prod on the identity of these people as he is not familiar with the voices. Hinged on the word ‘young master ‘ he is certain that it is some young nobleman and probably a butler? A knight? But the words being exchanged are telling him of a closer relationship. A friend perhaps? Or a lover?
Alberu resisted the urge to slap his forehead into his palm. Alberu focus, it's not your business. As he already said, visitation is already expected. And why he hiding? He is the crown prince!
Being awake for 36 hours is messing with his hormones and state of mind. Goodness, he needs sleep.
Why did he decided to go for a walk when he can just sleep. He doesn't know either, in fact he did not even think about it, it is just some frustrating burst of impulsiveness in him.
Alberu stood and made his presence known. It looks like the conversation is about to become a full on brawl. The two people startled and their petty argument stopped.
They stared off.
No one blinked.
“Your… highness….” The taller and lithe build young man, the nobleman between the both of them drawled out calmly. He looked shocked and wrong footed judging by the way his shoulder spasm as if he didnt know what to do with them. How to stand or how to act. His bright red hair shines like a beacon under the sunlight that has pierce through the small crack of leaves and branches above him.
Alberu is a good and mindful crown prince of Roan Kingdom and immediately recognised him. He smiled sunnily. “ Young Master Cale Henituse, it is very lovely to meet you.”
“ I as well, you highness. Who could have expected that my little walk would become fruitful because of your presence.”
Alberu immediately dislikes him. Anyone who can talk like that is immediately on his dislike list. The 4th imperial Prince at the top right now. This guys, at the second.
The other man. He wore a well–fitted knight uniform with the Henituse crest on his left chest and the feature of youth has yet to leave him. His body was stiff when he bowed to him.
Hm.
“That's very good of you, young master cale. I understand, since the weather has been good for the past week. It is perfect for a walk.”
“Yes, sir.” Henituse agreed easily. His childhood training for nobility kicked off and the natural elegance of every noble possess rolled off him in waves. He looks like someone who hasn't been surprised his whole life. Alberu disliked him more. His gaze landed on Henituse companion.
“And the good sir?”
Henituse glanced at the knight and slightly inclined his head. Huh.
The black clad young man bowed. “My name is Choi Han, your highness. It is a pleasure to meet you.”
Alberu smiled. “I do as well.”
Alberu carefully studied the younger man. He look exactly just like how the rumors have described him. From his previous words with his knight earlier. His ‘trash’ personality seems accurate but the sharp and very much intelligent gaze on this supposedly 'troublemaker’ young master's face is giving him bad feelings.
Young Mater Cale sighed heavily and his shoulder dropped. A truly regretful expression plastered on his face. Alberu bit his tongue. “Although it is still very pleasant to the prince, I'm afraid we need to leave as my father is probably looking for me.”
Alberu smiled politely. “Of course, i would not trouble you anyway further.”
"So...." When they walked a safe distance, Choi Han stopped his steps. He drew out, pointedly looking at Cale and the general direction of the crown prince. Hoping for the latter to fill up on what he is insinuating.
Unfortunately, Young Mater Cale is an asshole and Choi Han clenches his jaw, he added. “That's him, isn't it.”
Cale frown at him, he admonished without really meaning to it.. “Don't be rude, he is the crown prince.”
Choi Han knows that, but no one will really hear what he is going to say. There is no human being near them. He shrugged. “I know. I'm just clarifying if he is the one Kim would like to marry.”
“Well, how many crown princes does Roan have?” Cale rolled his eyes in a very un-noble like action and Choi Han refrained himself from punching him.
“Can't you just answer questions normally?” He snapped.
“Can you ask a normal question?” Cale quipped.
He is really picking a fight with him. A vein bulged in Choi Hans forehead.
“If not for Kim-nim if would have sli–”
“Aishhh, what would the others think if they heard that it's punishable by death you know.” Cale raised an eyebrow and pointed an accusing finger toward him . “ You know, since I am a noble. Since you keep forgetting it these days.”
“I hate you.” Choi Han said through gritted teeth.
“Yes yes, you're saying it like you don't say that to me everyday. If you're not careful I might think you really love me.” Cale snorted. And flick his wrist in a mocking manner.
Choi Han sputtered and burst out. “Shut up!”

Chapter 4: I slithered here from Eden just to sit outside your door
Summary:
Everyone knows how the Empire treated their Omega. And even if he is a prince of a neighboring country it still wouldn't change, they will see nothing but his second gender.
He wants to say he can protect him but he can't. And he can't promise that.
“Then, should we k–” Shawn tensed. Already come to the conclusion.
Alberu almost choked. Hysterics bubble at his throat. “No, can you imagine the clusterfuck of a diplomatic accident that would cause? He is in Roan Kingdom for his studies. If he suddenly dies then we would be responsible. He is greatly favored by the Emperor, even more so than the Imperial crown prince.”
ft. Alberu stopping Shawn to commit a major act of diplomatic accident and a not a romantic ballroom dance.

Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago
Idealism sits in prison, chivalry fell on its sword
Innocence died screaming, honey, ask me I should know
I slithered here from Eden just to sit outside your door
i love this song Hozier is a genius

Chapter Text
“My dear crown prince,” Shawn started. “In my humble opinion, the mirror will set on fire if you try to stay staring at it longer.” He drawled out. Shawn has his arm crossed, leaning his left shoulder at the door post.
He is in human form right now and will be acting as Alberu’s caretaker for the whole evening. It's supposed to be Tasha but she is currently busy and unable to attend to the little prince.
Alberu carefully tightens his tie, and straightens out the creases of his white royal jacket. His golden dress shirt stands out against the white fabric. He adjusted his cuff and re-flid his tie.
Shawn sighed. A hand drops on his shoulder and walks over to him. “Why must you do this every time there is an event? I don't understand you. You already look good and perfect. I'm sure your father will have no words for it.”
“He always doesn't have one.” Came Alberu's biting reply. Shawn doesn't blink, it is true, that the kind is known for his silence after all. And if Alberu is not wearing his suppressant right now his smell would be riding in a sour and bitter combination.
Alberu’s voice continued. His hands are still busy with his tie. “But the people will . They will not see the perfection in me. No, they will search for the littlest thing that they can mock me about–which is always some idiotic and ridiculous thing and justify it on how unjust I am for the crown .”
Alberu combed his finger through his hair and looked at Shawn in the eyes in the mirror. “Hyung, we have come for so long. I won't let some imperfect brat take my rightful place just because they can cry to their mother about it. The Roan Kingdom is for me to lead.”
The room fell silent.
“That's not fair you don't call me Hyung unless I beg you.” Shawn complains. Hiding the twitching of his mouth. Before Alberu could reply, Shawn picked up a turquoise brooch, the right shade of Alberu's eyes and attached it to his tie.
Alberu let him and looked at his reflection once more. Noting another flaw in his appearance and attempting to fix it. But Shawn batted it away with a quiet huff. Undeterred, like the little brat that he is, Alberu reaches with his other hand to smoothen it.
Shawn casually asked. Eyes pointedly in the large gem and hands on Alberu’s superbly ironed collar “Anyway, why do you have a bottle of powerful dead mana in your desk drawer?”
Alberu froze under his fingertips. Shawn continued as if nothing happened. He is an experienced elf, and even if he is not the oldest because the mayor is that person he is not considered young either. That is why, it is easy to say that without great self control that Shawn has with his reaction and body, he would have stumbled the moment he entered the chamber.
“Tasha did not mention that, when she asked me to be her substitute. She has a habit of telling me things way too much than I would have preferred. So color me surprised that she never mentioned such a strong thing. So I arrived at a single conclusion, so she must not know. And I am sure that it's not from her.”
When Alberu remained silent Shawn patted his shoulder. He couldn't suppress the worry in his voice. “Is it completely safe?”
At this Alberu nodded. A far look in his eyes. Shawn’s concern heightened. He hesitated.
“It is safe. And it..is a .. gift ”
It took a little time for the words to sink into Shawn's mind. When it did, his expression fell off and a bright grin replace it. He beamed. Positively gleeful and excited in equal measures. “A gift? Oh my is my not so little dongseang being courted?”
Alberu stiffened. Arms locking in place. He glared at him. Blazing and sharp “I am a royal prince I will have you–”
Shawn brushed it off and asked. “And Tasha doesn't know?”
Alberu still glared at him as he answered. Deflating like a balloon. “I haven't told her yet ..”
Shawn’s smirk turned sharp. “This is good! Hah, I'm the first one to know correct?”
Alberu clenched his teeth and remained silent
Shawn almost jumps in glee. He cackled. “Oh yes. Hejeh”
He slid his arm across Alberu’s shoulder earning him a hiss when his perfect clothes got rumpled. “So who is it?”
Alberu hesitates. “That's…”
Shawn blink. “Is it from my squad of Tasha’s?”
Silence.
“Alberu?”
Alberu sighed. Turning his head away. “Neither “
“What?” Shawn stopped. He frowns, if it is not from his squad or Tasha’s then is it from another? But both of their squad are the only ones that are constantly connected to the Prince. Then, “Is it someone in the city?”
“No.” came his dongseang’s quiet reply. Unsure and hesitating.
Shawn is immediately alarmed. If not there then who is this person! This is dangerous, especially to Alberu since he has far greater things to lose. He knows that it is going to destroy the child if his heritage is revealed. “ Alberu… ”
“It's the fourth imperial prince.”
All the air left Shawn’s lungs. He gasped, and rushed in barely contained panic. “What? Alberu that's –”
“I know , I know” Alberu looked him in the eye and reassured.
It's not reassuring in the slightest.
Then suddenly sharp protective anger surged through him. Even if the bastard is an imperial prince he can't let him get away with this. It may be difficult but it will happen.
“What did he do? Is there anyone else who knows your secret?”
Alberu shakes his head. He sighed, suddenly exhausted. “As of now, I know no one but I can't be too sure. He hasn't said anything to me.”
Shawn’s eyes widened. Shock and disbelief. “And you expect him to? He is an Imperial Prince.”
Shawn breathed and let himself calm down. He can't panic here. Not now. It will result in nothing. Alberu needs him and he needs a clear mind in order to do that. “What are your plans here?”
“The fourth prince… I remember him from the report you requested. A prince who has an eccentric personality favoured by the current emperor. That itself is strange when there is already an Imperial Crown Prince that was appointed. Aside from that he is practically a mystery. And you're telling me that this–auspicious and dangerous person is taking an interest in you?” He ranted. He curls his hand into a fist. It's a dangerous interest to be pointed at and Shawn is horrifically scarred for Alberu.
The empire is a strong nation and to pair with their views on the concept of Second Gender it is not reassuring in the least. He works through the scenario in his head, ranging from bad to worse.
“He came to me with a request for my hand in marriage.” Alberu admitted.
And isn't that nauseating enough? He is asking for marriage. He swears if the Imperial Prince is threatening Alberu–he know his secret for Dragons sake! He could literally make Alberu do anything he ask and he would comply! His dongseang value his position so much!
“What! Alberu that– He– ”
He wants to say he can't do that but this is an Imperial Prince, he could absolutely do that if he just threatened the things that mattered.
Alberu murmured. With a knowing glint in his eyes. He absolutely knows what is going through Shawns mind at the moment.“ I know.”
Shawn asked anyway. “ He can't do that, can he?”
“Technically, if he comes and asks my father nicely I'm sure he can. And the Queen mother would agree before he could even open his mouth.” Alberu added bitterly. Almost rolling his eyes before refraining himself. A cruel twist on his lips.
So that she can get rid of me. Alberu did not say it but Shawn heard it anyway.
“ No , can you imagine the clusterfuck of a diplomatic accident that would cause? He is in Roan Kingdom for his studies. If he suddenly dies then we would be responsible. He is greatly favored by the Emperor, even more so than the Imperial crown prince.”
Shawn deflated. “Then what could we do?”
“For now? Nothing .”
Knowing that he can't do anything anymore he asked. “What kind of person is he? The only thing I know about him are rumors.”
“He is… decent . He hasn't said anything dreaming about my second gender expected from a traditionalist Imperial citizen.”
“That's good.” He nodded. At Least he is not a complete bastard. Or not yet. Shawn fought a gramice then snorted. “Wow, the standard is in the ground right now.”
“But I can't be too sure. We only have two conversations as of now and both of them are about his proposal.” Alberu dismissed. Going around the mirror and picking out some paper from his study table and giving it out to him.
“I understand. I know you could handle yourself well Alberu but you are still my dongseang. The brat glared at him but Shawn continued. “And the Dark elves are your family. We will support you, don't ever forget that okay?”
“I know.” Alberu agreed solemnly, looking him in the eyes. Then shake his head with a sigh. “There's a battlefield outside, and your here being a sap, eughh”
Offended, Shawn opened his mouth to reply. But before he could voice out his displeasure about Alberu being ungrateful a knock resounded in the floor.
Knock! Knock!
“There is the trumpet blowing. Just right in time.” Alberu straightened once more. He faces the mirror and flattens out nonexistent crumples on his clothes. Once he is satisfied he strode to the door.
Shawn's gentle hand lands on Alberu's shoulder.
“I'll be watching,” he says. And it's a promise.
Alberu did not answer but he didn't need to. He understood.
Shawn sighed. Worry lining on the tighline of his face.
He needs to contact Tasha about this. He didn't really expect his visit to go this way.
The moment that Alberu stands at the wooden heavy door he can hear his heart beating loudly in his ears.
It's nor for fear or nervousness but for excitement.
The guard standing at the door saluted at him. Back straight, and Alberu inclined his head in his direction before looking forward.
The guard snapped on his feet, turned his back at Alberu and opened the door wide open.
“Your Royal Highness Crown Prince Alberu Crossman is now entering!”
The guard returned to his post beside the door and saluted at him, back rimrod straight.
Alberu slightly nodded at him. And if his eyes are playing with him the guy seems to be more stiff than he already is.
Alberu cleared his mind of any thoughts and strode forward. Confident on his steps, his hand sways with a purpose on his side. Shoulder even and brisk, Alberu held his head up high.
There is silence and the second there is applaus.
Reactions that stir happiness on his gut. Ah, he could bask in this whole day.
Alberu bowed respectfully to the queen mother.
To his brother, not so much. They barely look at him. And Alberu didn't want to waste energy on someone who isn't willing to do the same to him. But Alberu is still the Crown Prince and infinitely better than they are. He is still his brother, despite everything and even though only blood connects to them.
He gracefully lowered himself to his seat and simultaneously ignored the murderous glare the Queen Mother sent him.
The crowd busied themselves with whatever business they have and the music returned, the party is still ongoing after all.
Good thing that he already ate something before he left his room so that he would not need to get down and get something but he still needed to get down regardless. For politics and giving anyone a reality check if they need it. The good thing is that he doesn't do that now.
His sight roamed at the great hall of the palace without his consent. Eyes fleeting to corners in the hall before he could stop himself.
He closes his eyes and inhales deeply.
A little embarrassed at his action. It's been a week since he last saw the Fourth Prince, no letter no nothing. The man did not even leave the coordinates of his communication device to him, and Alberu knows that he can easily access his communication devices if he just asks the right person and flick a few strings.
Alberu is totally not disheartened about that fact, not at all.
This event is the mark of the official opening for the exchange program, that's why all the foreign delegates are here. To come together, to mingle and get to know the people they would get acquainted with for six months of their stay here.
And for the more….peccant discussion.
The Fourth Imperial Prince is nowhere to be seen.
Different scents mingle in the air and the Imperial Prince has a unique distinctive smell that he has ever encountered. He would know.
Alberu closed his eyes and inhaled.
Scents rushed to his sensitive nose. And he fought a grimace showing to his face.
Too sweet. Too ripe. Disgusting. Bitter. Too bitter and sour. ugh–
Until.
An aroma of wood and earth. Warm and soft. Grounding in its sweet and balsamic undertones. Both calmness and alertness with a spicy aftertaste-
Alberu leaned back, closed his eyes and massaged his temple.
He is here. Of course he is. It's only reasonable and expected. The unreasonable one is him, it's Alberu who despite knowing that fact still sniff him out like some disrespectful–
Alberu will stop thinking now.
He opened his eyes and met with brown eyes tinted with red.
Uh.
Alberu quickly moved his gaze down without thinking.
His face heats up. Why did he move his eyes now he must think he is up to something.
Alberu mentally smacks himself.
Why is he getting himself flustered? He is not easily flustered. It must be the heat talking. Now that he think about it, it's almost up for his heat.
Sigh. Another problem to deal with for future him because the current problem is approaching him.
The Imperial Prince walked with assurance. His black dress shirt and imperial robe hugged his body delicately. His silver hair is neatly comb and shining. He looks the same as the last time he saw him.
When he arrived at the top of the platform he respectfully inclined his head to the Queen Mother, and the latter responded the same. Along with his brothers. For once, their manner and etiquette lesson kicked in lest it would cause a disastrous diplomatic accident.
Although, Alberu notices that the Imperial Prince is not that genuine in his action and Alberu knows. Despite them being the royal family of a foreign nation, he is still a prince of an Empire .
The only Empire in the continent. No one can reprimand him.
He turns to Alberu and they both acknowledge each other respectfully.
“Your Royal Highness, can I take your hand for a dance?”
He extended his hand. Alberu startled lightly. He hadn't expected that. He thought that their connection would be done in secret until they both agreed to his proposal.
He did promise last time that he would bring something useful and important to bring back.
Still, he can use this opportunity.
“If the Esteemed Imperial Prince is asking then who am I to refuse?” He smiled, softly. And take his offered hand.
Alberu turned to the Queen Mother and her two sons. “If you've excuse me.”
He does not wait for their answer and let the silver haired man whisk him to the dance floor.
The timbre of the soft music did nothing to ease the tension in Alberu's body.
“Have you thought about it?” the Imperial Prince said. No infliction of his feelings in his voice. He bowed in courtesy.
“I did.” Alberu responds and does the same. His expensive robe flowed easily around him.
The music has started. The tender and wistful timbre of the song echoes softly and admiringly in the grand hall. All the partners started dancing at the tune of the music.
The imperial Prince’s hand lifted and Alberu pressed his palm to his. Step and turn. Walking in careful feet. Eyes not leaving one another as they circled. He asked, “Have you decided?”
Alberu’s feet slide smoothly on the marble floor. “Depends on how worthy something that you are giving me.”
“Hm. I should have known that Roan's crown prince is someone greedy.” he sounded contemplative and intrigued. The man put his hand on his lower back and picked his other hand in a delicate hold. On instinct, Alberu landed his palm on his shoulder.
A turn and twist. Feet skillfully dancing together.
Alberu smiles gently. “Last time you've said, what what it? A great trait you have?”
He chucked. The waltz took a sharp tune and Alberu was being guided on the marble dance floor. Their bodies move in perfect harmony. “And have an impudent mouth with him too.”
Alberu let his cheekiness show. “What about it?”
Instead of a dance. Their movement was more like a duel. Warriors clashing swords. Taking and giving. Attacking and defending. Winning and losing. Alberu never plans on losing.
“Nothing. Just different from what I have known.”
Alberu’s steps are strong and commanding and the Imperial Prince matches it evenly as they twirled across the floor. Their steps are light and effortless.
“A good difference I hope.”
The imperial prince put pressure in his hand and pulled him closer. At this moment, it is easy to forget about the others who dance with them. He said, voice low. “Definitely good.”
However, Alberu has long been playing this game. “Flattery won't bring you anywhere.”
At this close, Alberu can smell the unique scent of nature that is encompassing the other prince’s body.
“ Yeah, I've gathered. I'm giving you mages.”
“... What?” Alberu stuttered in his steps, almost stumbling.
The imperial prince gripped his waist tighter and guided him to another turn and twirl, saving Alberu of embarrassment and indignity.
The imperial Prince smirks. Mirth dancing in his eyes. Completely smug he leans, he said. “Mages, your royal highness from the fallen Magic Tower in the whipper Kingdom.”
The music swelled, and with each turn, their movement became more fluid and more synchronized. However, Alberu’s mind became a mess. A chaotic mess. Bastard .
Alberu narrowed his eyes. “ whipper kingdom? i have always wondered what were you doing there. " he muses. " a high-standing prince entered a war-torn country and brought the magic tower and got out alive."
He perks up. An impressed smile on his lips. “Oh, you know that? As I have thought, the Crown Prince’s information network is impressive.”
“Quite deflecting.” Alberu huffed. Glaring at the latter.
He hummed. His eyes gaze at him. Assessing. “Perhaps. You're asking the wrong question.”
“And you are giving the wrong answers.”
The orchestra transitioned immensely into a lively polonaise, its tempo invigorating yet regal. Their bodies move in unison, weaving intricate formation and steps. A twirl. A sharp turn and Alberu is chest to chest with the prince.
“Have I not been clear enough? These mages I am giving you will strengthen the power of the Kingdom. This is my promise, remember? Helping you make the Roan Kingdom stronger.”
Still, Alberu’s well deserved suspicion rises. “Why are you doing this?”
“Let's just say this is my insurance in my retirement plan.”
Huh?
What kind of lunatic–
“Are you insane?”
The man laughed lightly. His eyes formed a crescent. “No, not really. My family sure is.”
“What?”
The music reached its crescendo, and with one final, sweeping turn, the waltz came to an end. The room erupted into applause as he and the imperial prince bowed. His voice has never been clearer.
“Your royal highness, this is my offering to you. I ask for your hand in marriage. Please accept my offer.”
Soon enough the music began again. And the world returns into focus. As Alberu basked in the loud clapping in celebration. He came into a decision.
“Meet me at my office.”
“Of course.”
And his smile is nothing but cheshire. Mischievous and too cocky for Alberu’s liking.

Info bomb Counter: 2
Clearing things up, this story is not Canon compliant--i mean some of it? But it really does not follow Canon and if you're not a fan you might need to reconsider. Anyways, I need to say it again. This FanFiction is ROMANCE centered. So some arc in the novel might not be written but Is there.
Suprise suprise Shawn is there and is ready to throw hands.Shawn just show up for a few chapters in the novel and he became permanent in this fic we gotta appreciate this underrated king. Romance is difficult and this chapter is chopped into half because it may take longer if I just stick to my original plan.
I hope you enjoy! And see you next time!

Alberu always dreaded the family dinners. Some would think that it is rather scarce for the whole royal family to gather together in one night for a single dinner despite living in the same capital with the palaces not too apart.
Now that Alberu is stationed in the main palace after obtaining his status as a crown prince it is harder to avoid the other members of the family. Not that Alberu made an effort in seeing them, he deals with many headache-inducing meetings on a daily basis anyway.
Alberu always thinks that the grand hall of where they held dinner is too… garish dare he might say. Bright and gigantic chandeliers dripping from the high ceiling and the ridiculously long table that have no business to actually have this many chairs when there are only five people .
It is too wide, open, and oppressive in equal measures.
The clanking of metals in the silverware against metal plates grates to his ears as it echoes in the whole room, the shuffling of servants serving dishes doesn't help either.
He always has the urge to loosen up his collar every time he is here. He doesn't, of course but it's a near thing.
It started when the Queen Mother put down his cutlery and opened her mouth to speak. As everything always does.
“Alberu dear, the coming of age has passed a long time ago. The nobles have long been asking when you would get married. I myself am insistent because it is diminishing for a crown prince who does not yet have a hand in marriage, more so in your case .”
A pulse started in Alberu’s head. A tell tale of a starting head ache. He put down his cutlery and spoke in a soft and polite voice, despite how much he wanted to scowl and furrow his eyebrows.
His Case, she said.
“Mother,” Alberu started, physically restraining himself in overtly reacting. “ My duty is to the crown, it is required for the crown prince to be dutiful and loyal to its people. My wants and needs are secondary to what the kingdom requires of me.”
He subtly peers at the king, who silently continues eating without pause. Typical, his father never stepped forward in placing input in this matter. Alberu turned his attention back to the queen mother.
She sport a delicate frown on her pale face. “ the crown prince is also a human. Surely finding a spouse wouldn't diminish your competence."
It became important searching for a spouse when he would ascend the throne not as a crown prince, Alberu retorted in the privacy of his thoughts.
His second brother, Robbit scowled but remained silent.
I also have brothers who would procreate, surely this type of attitude and incompetence isn't genetic…..
“And as a responsibility of a parent,” she continued. “ I have compiled a list of respectable bachelors and bachelorette that have a good standing. This matter is important in equal measures as it boosts the royal family’s image.”
The king stopped eating and quietly observed the table, as if it was some entertaining opera to watch. Alberu reign his irritation.
The Queen mother tore her gaze from Alberu to the king. “ Husband , I am sure that you hold this of importance as I do. Alberu is reliable on his works but he is young, “ She looks back at him with honey dripping on her tone. “It is disheartening on my part as your mother to see you not indulge yourself from time to time my dear.”
Alberu breathed quietly as to not show his anger to the woman, but before he could open his mouth and reply his father’s word resounded.
“ Alberu, your mother’s words has merit. The council and other houses have also cast their voice on this matter. It is time, as your are already an adult”
The queen mother smiled delightfully at the king and addressed him.
“ Since it has been decided what do you think dear?”
Alberu smiled. Charming and sunny. “Queen mother, I am as you've said of age and a crown prince. I have my responsibilities that I need to uphold. However, if you do insist on this matter as I am not so close minded to see its significance then I will consider the list that you have compiled but the decision will remain with me.”
“Excellent!”
Later that night, Alberu reviewed the people that are recommended for him to marry.
Stack upon stack of documents that his Dark elves procured for him about these individuals.
Easy to say, he did not like what he saw. But at this point, searching for a married partner might just be up to the list of his priorities on the same level as caring for the kingdom.
He needs to find on his own or the Queen Mother will meddle that will end in disaster. Alberu really doesn't see the appeal to these, he can be a competent and functional crown prince without someone hanging off him. It is a social responsibility that will hit his reputation if he doesn't have one.
His status as Omega is a taint enough ( as they might say, but Alberu never really considers his second gender shameful, just sometimes disadvantageous) being unmated at his age will be worse–or so they thought.
Alberu has survived this long and this search for a marriage partner is just part of this desperate struggle for power. It is better now, than when he was younger–more vulnerable and insignificant, now he holds more important power and influence than his brothers that the King and Queen cant possibly ignore and appoint him the title of crown prince.
But he knows that nothing is permanent, unless he becomes King nothing is certain.
And he need to become a king
The next day, his aid alerted him of the presence of Karin Orsena in the palace, and at the same the Queen Mother’s trusted Lady-in-waiting informed him to escort the lady in the garden for she conveniently wanted to see the famed sapphire garden of the palace.
Alberu bit back a sigh. Fortunately, his work load is almost finished and he can afford leisure activities such as escorting a young noble lady in the gardens. It's not the first time that Alberu cursed the meddling of the queen.
“Tell the lady that I will be shortly there.”he said to the aid, and he turned to the lady-in-waiting.
“ Give the Queen Mother my regards.” He forced sincerity to his words. Sitting across from this woman, Alberu can smell the disdain on her scent. There's no doubt that she will report every miniscule reaction he has to that woman and Alberu can't lose.
She bowed in respect. “ It will be done, your royal highness.”
Once the door was surely closed he sighed and leaned heavily against the back of his chair. Flashes of the 4th Imperial Prince words echoes to his mind
“Divorce is for married couples.”
“We are getting married obviously.”
He was so stunned at that time, his mind running miles per second he was in that room.
Married to the imperial prince…..
Might not be the best idea that he has but it may as well be better than being collared to the list the Queen Mother gave him.
He is of status
An alpha
Intelligent
And seems agreeable
But..
He is still an imperial citizen.
Most of them are not favorable to Omega as someone equal, but from the conversation that they had, he seems pleasant enough although a bit oblivious and he really is a bit desperate to be with Alberu for whatever reason.
For whatever something the prince will give him, he will agree nonetheless. It's just a test if he is patient enough.
He picked up a separate stack of paper. This one, is a special document about the prince's adventure on the magic tower in the Whipper kingdom. The kingdom is in the middle of civil war and he just steps on their land–a foreigner bought the magic tower and went out unharmed.
Curious .
His men can't get any more information about the purchasing of Magic Tower nor why, it seems that it was just a purchase of leisure.
Wasting money.
But from his observation of the man, he is not someone who would just squander that large amount of money (five billion gallons–) for a run down magic tower with hundreds of corpses inside of them.
Adding to the mystery, he thought.
No matter, he will meet the prince again at the opening gala but for now he will meet Lady Orsena.
Conversations with Lady Orsena always leave an unpleasant taste afterwards. Notwithstanding, her ability to socialize but the way her eyes roam and her skin lightly dancing against his, just a touch light like feathers.
The late sun poured down like melted gold, refracted through the countless shimmering crystals embedded in the pale blue arches of the Sapphire Garden. It was named not for actual gemstones, but for the way the cobalt-tinted glass above captured the light—trapping the skies within domes of silken blue. It was beautiful. Almost too beautiful, like everything meant to impress.
Alberu suddenly remembers the encounter he had with the young master of Count Henituse and his knight. There is something about that man that prickled his senses, it's not the matter that he is an enigma (as all the nobility knows it) but something different, others .
The same could be said of the black-clad teen with him.
He needs more information about them. Moreso, in the knight as there is no information about him. Nothing, it is as if he just popped into existence and lived. There's gotta be something there, a connection between him and the young master other than duty-bound.
Alberu walked with his hands clasped behind his back, the steady rhythm of his boots softened by the moss-laced stone path. He wore no crown, but he still felt its weight in his posture.
To his side walked Lady Orsena. Draped in ivory silk embroidered with lilac vines, she glided rather than walked, her presence carrying that easy gravity typical of her designation—sure-footed, ever slightly too close. Her fingers occasionally brushed against his arm or his shoulder as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Alberu pretended not to notice.
His chaperone, a fellow dark elf not too far from them, followed. Something that Alberu insisted that they have because Lady Orsina did not assign someone for her.
It is scandalous , they both are unmarried and not promised to each other and yet she callously suggested to walk alone. There is no sane mind someone would look at them and assume different than what it looks like.
And Alberu cannot explicitly deny her advances lest it cause a political disaster between an important ducal family and royal household.
However, at the end of the day, Alberu is an omega and Lady Orsena is an Alpha.
“It’s a perfect day,” Lady Orsena said, her voice velvet over steel. “The kind of day people remember. Don’t you think so?”
Alberu gave a gentle nod, the corners of his mouth barely upturned. “The weather seems to agree with you.”
She laughed, low and smooth. “I think fate agrees with me.”
They strolled beneath an arch of sapphire roses—petals dark and vivid as ink in water. Their scent was sharp, intoxicating. Too much of it could dizzy the senses.
“Word at court says the council is drawing up compatibility scrolls,” she said, voice light but eyes watchful. Noting his reaction, he carefully kept his face blank. He already anticipated this line of topic from her. Obviously, since her father has been the most persistent one in the previous council meetings. Dropping hints and insisting on her daughter every moment that he got.
“They’re keen to see the crown joined by a bond. I am certain that this particular turmoil has read your ear, your royal highness ..”
Alberu kept his gaze forward, hands clasped neatly in front of him.
“They speak often,” he said mildly. Putting a tight control over his displeasure. “It’s what they do when something doesn't align with their plans. I am rather vocal about my response.”
“You make it sound like a burden,” she said, almost teasing. Her thin lips curled up a little. Her hand trailed along the inside of his arm now, not just grazing, but staying. He stiffened, ever so slightly.
Alberu’s nose twitched. There's no mistaking it. It was a claim, not a comfort—thick as honey and twice as sticky. He wants to rip her arms out of his at the boldness of it, the way it crowded the space despite the open field.
“I would call it… inevitable, ” he replied, slipping from her touch with a graceful turn of pace. “But burdens, too, can be dressed in gold.”
Lady Orsena narrowed her eyes slightly but kept pace. “You’ve always been hard to read, Your Highness.”
“And you’ve always been...very good at trying.” he replied dryly. And always be unsuccessful.
His thoughts stray at the peculiar silver-haired prince and shook it off as quickly.
She stares at him and Alberu stubbornly looks ahead. It seems like his disinterest is getting at her as her settle unobtrusive grimace. He considers this as a little win, for now.
It was silent for a moment as they walked. The garden is a beautiful place at this time, when the sun is almost at its peak and with the shade of leaves of towering trees it gives off a cool sensation even though its summer.
Lady Orsena reached again and tightened her grip, strong enough to startle Alberu out of his musing.
She noticed and she squeezed lightly, sending an apologetic smile. It is all but genuine on her face.
“ Your highness, this charade that you have been playing…is amusing to the least.”
Alberu stayed silent, not looking at her. Keeping his feet steady.
“But I'm sure you know that it is inevitable. The only thing to be done is, wait .”
Like hell.
Alberu thought of a proposal that he received not too long ago. And smiled a touch meanly. “ We will see.”
She looks unhappy at his reply, she drops his hold of him and Alberu continues walking, his steps a half ahead of her.
Alberu gripped the paper tightly.
This contract of sale is entered into by and between the seller Supreme Chief Harol Kodiang and the buyer Imperial Prince Roksoo, whereby the seller agrees to transfer ownership of the Magic Tower to the Buyer under the terms and conditions set forth herein. The total purchase price of the property is Ten Billion Gallons (10,000,000,000.00 G) with…
There's no way….this… this crazy bastard!
Alberu could not believe his eyes.
“So, is it a sufficient gift for your hand? You highness?”
Shut up.
Without looking up, Alberu can feel and smell the smugness radiating out of this man. He doesn't know what to feel.
He bit the inside of his cheek. This is more than he thought for. He does a quick mental gymnastics on how much he could gain giving this man continuous affection–moreso as his husband (no matter how strange that sounded, definitely something to get used to).
This guy could maybe–truly held genius intentions toward him.
(unlikely)
He loosen his grip on the document and lifted his head. Arranging his face into a convincing calm as he look at his future husband (he decided, mind set) across the office table.
“Well, you did a hard bargain.”
“I take that as a yes.”
Alberu peered down at the papers again.
…herein. The total purchase price of the property is Ten Billion Gallons (10,000,000,000.00 G) with…
Alberu also knows what this means.
Mages .
He recalled what he said when they danced…
“Mages, your royal highness from the fallen Magic Tower in the whipper Kingdom.”
Buying the tower is just the cover. The main point is the mages. And this man is giving it to me.
This .
This could provide a tremendous strength in the Roan Kingdom. Alberu is not fooled in the illusion of peace and the complacency of the nation in an era of peace.
Alberu heard and noticed the chaos brewing in the north, he is not naive. He knows this piece will not last forever and he needs to be prepared.
This is a very important prize to have.
“Yes, your Imperial Highness im going to marry you.” he confirms.
“Roksoo.”
“Yes?”
“Since we are going to get married anyway, just call me by my name Alberu .”
Alberu did not gape. Nope, he is more dignified than that but he can't stop the cherry color blooming at the tips of his ears at the sound of his name.
“I assume that you already have a plan on how this would unfold.” he stated.
“Yes, but it is not complete yet and I would like it if you work it with me since there are two of us in this marriage.”
Alberu can't deny the pleased sensation at his suggestion. Another note that this man truly regards him as equal, not just an Omega.
Even that is a trait definitely better than Lady Orsena.
“ Of course.” he agreed. “ If you have the document right now–”
“Although, i am happy that you would help. I would like if we don't do that right now.”
“Yes?” Alberu asks, puzzled. Isn't it more productive that they would work on it right now?
The imp–Roksoo paused and leaned down slightly to get something. “ I notice in the grand hall that you eat nothing so,” he pushed a whole apply pie at him. “ Here eat something, it's almost midnight. I just thought you might be hungry.”
He is, but he already eats before the event. He did not say that tho and swallow down the emotion threatening to rise on his throat.
“Thank you.”
Is it even already sliced?
He picked one.
Oh, it is warm too.
Roksoo smiled at him, "you're welcome.”
Alberu thought of the offers for his hand. Compared to all of them, this imperial prince from another country might just be it, no matter how reckless that sounds.
Notes:
my beta also told me that my fic summary is misleading because it is from krs pov but there is no written krs pov on this fic, its mainly from Alberu pov so i think i'm making this a series to write of some krs pov if i fancy. although i think it is hilarious that this fic have no krs pov despite the summary, so i think i'll leave it.
enjoyyyy, see you for another 3 months ig. byeeeeee

On another note, I know that I am a slow writer and I shouldn't be doing this but BUT!!
but I have this idea in my head of a totcfxstar wars crossover I could not get over. Here is my initial idea/plot. Og!Cale was about to be transported to Korea for his mother. However, unexpectedly her whole got pushed into another world ( just ignore the ramifications of that) and go to star wars world. So speedrun the plot, Og!Cale became a rich merchant ( ofc there's a lot of money) and be the uncle of his niece (his mom) and got involve with the clone-more importantly to the guard ( I just love coruscant guard-centered fics, it's my guilty pleasure) to uncover some sith conspiracy ( I just really want to kill Palpatine guys, that's the whole point of the fic I want him suffering)
I know this is a bad idea but ackk it won't leave me alone!!!!

Chapter Text
Alberu expected that they would plan the wedding after a few days after his decision to agree to the said marriage but the Imperial Prince surprised him once again when he visited his office every day just for his company (no matter how dubious that is) and now, he is starting to get used to his presence. He suggested that they would roam elsewhere, probably the plaza.
“Why?”
Isn't it more convenient that they would immediately settle on the event?
Moreover, they are decorating the place for the celebration in three days, so it doesn't have that many people and stalls there.
What amusement could be possibly do?
Roksoo stare at him calmly and titling his head minutely. He seems confused at his question and Alberu is equally baffled on why he would be confused.
“ I'm bringing you to a date. You have been hauled in your office for a long time. ”
Alberu blink. Once, twice. That too, is something new about their…relationship. It seems that the Imperial Prince is treating this arrangement with respect and seriousness similar to Alberu.
Thats good. Alberu want nothing less.
The thing that Alberu is sure about himself is that he doesn't do anything half-way done, and good thing that Roksoo is too.
More than that, Roksoo proved himself to be an honest man–maybe too blunt sometimes but honest.
He continued when Alberu stayed silent too long. “ Your highness, I am glad that you agreed to marry me but i dont really know you and you dont know me. Although I am glad that we spend time with each other, it isn't really enough. I planned that before we go into details we learn about each other first outside your office.”
Alberu nods slowly. And wow, that's the most he heard Roksoo speak.
Moreover, he sees the point and truly, Alberu doesn't know a thing about his future spouse other than what is on the papers, and even that he is not absolutely sure on what parts are false or not. Thankfully, the few hours they spend just talking of being silent company eases this but still…
“Alright, I accept. Just give me a moment to dress.”
Thankfully, he already finished the urgent task needed this week–just the preparation for the king’s 50th birthday.
He looks outside his window, the sun is about to set and at this time no one will really need his time. They know how to respect him after hours at least despite being insolent in the rest.
He took complete control in the palace years ago but there are still cockroaches the Queen Mother planted and some who just really don't like an Omega as their leader.
Albert eyed Roksoo’s clothes. Under a dark brown cloak are black colored dress shirts and pants.
Obviously, their relationship needs an utmost animosity from the both of them lest they would be outed before the reveal. It would surely cause a major scandal.
Eh, it would cause an uproar either way.
And Roksoo inclined his head in agreement. Albert stands and goes to his bedroom that is connected to his working space.
He put on one of his darkest clothes and cloak
“ We're going out for a bit.” Alberu said to Ren, one of the dark Elf slash Knight slash aid.
“May I ask where?”
Which is fair, since it's currently evening.
Albert directed a pointed look at Roksoo.
Roksoo looked at him. Then at Ren and said. “Somewhere.”
“...”
Alberu’s eye twitch.
“ We're going somewhere.” He amended. “ Don't worry, I already finished my appointment, no one will need me for a few hours.”
Ren still looked like he want to interrogate him and the Imperial Prince. And despite not knowing the full details, Ren is loyal to him and trusts his judgment.
That reminds him, he needs to tell the people under him about this arrangement so that they wouldn't be caught off guard.
Ren stubbornly stood his ground. Bold, as he is one of the youngest dark elves under his care. “ At least bring me with you.”
Alberu refrain from sighing. “ It's not needed. Roksoo will definitely bring me back.”
He put an emphasis on Roksoo’s name watching as the implication downed on him.
They stare off for a moment. Desperately looking at Roksoo’s face ( who stared back blankly) and Alberu , Ren relented bowing respectfully.
“ what should i tell if someone is looking for you?”
Alberu answered. “ Just tell them i retired for the night.”
“ Then what about the royal family?”
“ They wont.”
They rarely ask for him, anyway unless its work related matter—or in the Queen Mother's case, Alberu's marital status.
Ren finally said. “ Take care sir.”
Return home safely.
Alberu nods at him and looks at Roksoo.
He was glowing. Literally.
Under his feet is a teleportation magic circle.
Alberu stepped in beside Roksoo. “ I'll be back later.”
Ren saluted . Then the light intensified and all he saw was white.
Alberu blinked and the world returned to its color. He takes a step and trips.
A strong hold snakes on his upper arms steadying him. He turned and Roksoo's face who was mere centimeters away from him. He pulled back suddenly and his foot caught caught at his ankle. A Hand on his waist saved him.
“ Careful, I did not expect you would have a reaction in teleportation.”
Usually, I don't but I'm expecting to land in an even concrete. Alberu look down at his feet. Red Sand almost swallowing his boots.
In a heart stopping moment, Alberu take in the achingly familiar surrounding.
He sharply look at Roksoo.
“ How?” He demanded, cold cautious and a lick of fear chilling his spine
Roksoo star at him alarmed. “....I thought you would like to visit your–other Dark eleves.”
Alberu narrowed his eyes in clear distrust. There's no point in denying it now.“ No one knows where the Dark eleves lives. And yet here you are, knowing things you shouldn't.”
Roksoo shake his head. “..no one knows about it. I just thought that you deserved a break from work.”
Roksoo said but he look like he is holding something. Then, he hesitantly reach out his hand to his and Alberu stilled but he did not snatch his hand. “ It is not my intention to scare you.”
Alberu leveled him. “ I have so many questions, but I will trust you that this union that we are going to have will grant us transparency to each other. Do you agree with that?”
“ I agree.”
“Good.”
Silence.
A moment where neither of hem move, Roksoo look at him intently.
Alberu asked. “ What..are you doing.”
“ I know the Dark elves lives in this desert but I don't exactly know where.” He offers his hand expectantly.
Alberu…..didn't know what to feel. Cry of hilarity or burst out laughing from hysterics. He sighs and clasped his hand to the waiting latter.
He acknowledges the insistent call of wind elementals. Asking for their help he gathers them toward his feet, aiding him on their trek instead of plainly walking. It would have taken ages if they did.
At this time, the Sun is barely at the horizon, sinking deeper in the depth of the sand–along with it, the color of blood-red sands and instead onyx remained.
The temperature is dropping too, thankfully they are wearing a clock–or it would have been awkward shivering from the cold.
Alberu glanced at the Imperial Prince, their are subtle breeze under his feet and thought he would be fine.
All the while not letting go of his hands.
Hmm.
He probably like his hands to be held. Alberu mused.
Tentatively, Alberu lead both of them through the ink sand. Maneuvering expertly and avoiding the grainy and numerous minuscule of a sand get in their clothes.
Few minutes have passed and they arrived at the entrance. Alberu bent down and wiped the sand out off the lid and gently pull it open.
Behind his shoulder, Roksoo glance down at the pitch black. Before he could open his mouth to speak Roksoo suddenly said;
“ You first.”
“...”
Alberu look at him. He….look stiff and his body screams reluctance. Then he turned back to the black hole. Then back at Roksoo…
Huh….
Alberu refrain from saying something. Instead;
“Okay, just follow me.”
Without hesitation, he jumped down. This is one the activity he missed as a child when he still frequently visiting the City of Life. Sadly, it became rare when his mother passed.
He landed on the cotton at the bottom and stand, waiting for Roksoo, not a moment later he dropped down. And his expression is….Alberu doesn't have many words to describe it..but he look a little disturb.
To be fair, it's probably his first time here.
Alberu hesitantly offered his hand and Roksoo immediately clasped it , lending his strength to help him stand.
Roksoo look over him, stupified and mesmerized.
Alber turn around, and there it is the City of Life in all its glory.
Bright light illuminated the city and people are bustling all about their way. And theres not only Dark elves loitering the street but fair and tanned skinned humans with lively and wide smile expression.
It look sacred and out of this world, untouched by the despair and suffering above ground where dark elves are persecuted.
They look carefree too, and Alberu would probably look like if he pick up the weight on his shoulder and gently put down.
Before the both of them could take a step or more, there are two dark elves approaching them, spears in their hand.
The guards, Alberu though. Which is not surprising because he got here unannounced.
Alberu lightly touch Roksoo’s forearm. He smiled.
And yet again, before he could open his mouth to speak, he got interrupted by loud stamping of feet.
Over the two guard, Alberu peered is his grandfather.
With his aunt behind him.
Both of them are running over to his direction, frantic and anxious–well, his aunt more than his grandfather.
Alberu could only stare and gape.
What in the world.
He is deep in confusion that he forgot the companion beside him.
the distance is immediately cut short when Gran barreled through him. Alberu shifted, ready to greet him when his lovely grandfather grabbed Roksoo’s–the imperial prince's hands instead.
Alberu stilled.
Roksoo startled.
And, Aunt Tasha heaved.
The two guards squawk. “ Mayor-nim!!”
Alberu is too shocked that he forgot propriety and his voice rose a few octave. “ Gran, what are you doing?”
But Gran probably lose his hearing in the few short years that they didn't see each other because he questioned the latter.
“T-this, feeling!”
Roksoo stayed silent. His eyes darted to Alberu and he himself doesn't have answer to give to him.
His gran does not look agitated by his lack of reply.
Aunt righted herself and rushed to grans side. “ Grandpa, whats wrong?”
She look at Roksoo up and down then to her grandfather, confused.
Alber couldn't take it anymore. Roksoo may have brought him here but since this is Alberu’ family isn't he show mercy by not letting them harass him. Moreover, if they would get married aren't they his family too?
( he ignored the fact that the imperial family would be his too)
Alberu planted himself beside Roksoo and address his great grandfather.
“ Gran, what are you doing he is our guest. And i am here to visit you for a long time and..you're doing these.”
He exactly don't know what he is doing.
Roksoo peered at him.
However, Gran’s eyes is only focused to Roksoo.
He spoke in a shaky voice. “ P,perhaps..ahem…sir i heard that you have a dragon’s dead mana to you.”
Alberu startled. And Roksoo’s eyes narrow.
Then suddenly Alberu thought that he might be deaf because he couldn't possibly hear this from his Gran.
“Your Highness, are you perhaps a drago–” he rushed to say, as if the words is eager to burst out of his mouth. Stumbling down on a slope just like Alberu’s stomach because what–
His head and the others swiveled toward Roksoo and stare blankly.
Alberu’s mind running and doing gymnastic because this is the most absu–
And Roksoo stayed silent.
Alberu and everyone else stopped breathing.
“...”
“ I am not a Dragon.” Roksoo sternly rebuked him. A minute too late.
Then before Alberu could inhale.
His Gran wasnt done. “I definitely feel a Dragon-nim’s aura around you, your highness! It is coming from your vicinity, sir. The power that presides over nature is coming from you!”
If his Gran said was true then–
But, Roksoo would admit to being a dragon of all things before they sign up the construct. Heaviness settle on his stomach.
“ I am not a dragon.” Roksoo repeated. His eyebrow frowning slightly.
“ That is odd.” his Gran said, not letting it go
And Alberu doesn't know who to believe at this point because the past few days that they meet Roksoo prove himself to be an honest man (despite being strangely dense sometimes.) and Gran, is well his Gran.
“I have met a Dragon-nim in the past and felt the same feeling that I am feeling now. My Elemental, which met that Dragon-nim with me, says it is similar as well.”
This, Roksoo flinch minutely. Then for a heart stopping moment Roksoo heavily sighed.
“ Can we continue this in a private setting?” he offered.
Alberu turned wide-eyed at him. Roksoo met his gaze and promised. “ I am not a dragon.”
His Gran look dubious and his Aunt pale but they agreed. The two guard, since they already witness the altercation followed them too.
The wide room felt too oppressive with the small amount of 6 people occupying it.
“Raon.”
They all looked at Roksoo and lo and behold. A small black creature materialize in the air beside Roksoo.
Alberu took a minute to determine what he's looking at. Alberu did not shout in hysterics–he have more composure than that instead he stopped breathing.
His Gran, however , exploded. He bang his head to the floor and screamed. “ Ohhhh Almighty Dragon-nim.”
All the blood on his aunt's face drained away. And she too hesitantly lower his head.
The two guards behind them froze like corpses. At Gran’s exclamation they snapped like twigs and bang their head to the ground . Like lunatics.
Alberu is the one who remained upright.
Roksoo’s face twist in exasperation.
It's the first time that he sees that expression.
The black baby dragon-because it is a dragon. Tilted his? Her? Head Imperiously. Peeking at them through his snout.
“ I am Rain and I am great and mighty dragon. I'm four and I protect this human.” He glared. It's a he. He shove his little paw at Roksoo's cheeks and cross his miniscule arms. Raon glared at them, then harder at him Alberu. What did he do? “ So no funny business okay? I'll kill you!-”
“ That's enough.”
“Hmph!”
He lowered his scaly head then drop his body to Roksoo's lap.
Gran moored fervently. “ Of course Dragon-nim. I will not let any harm fall into His Imperial Highness!”
Raon look away.
Roksoo sighed.
Alberu look pointedly at Roksoo.
Roksoo sighed again.
“ This is Raon.” He presented Rain open palmed. “ He is stubborn so I became his guardian.” He paused. “ For now.”
That…doesn't make sense!!
“ I see.” Gran decided. His gaze still on the floor.
No you don't!
Raon’s snout twitched and he look at them at the corner of his eyes. “ Don't act weird humans-or well Dark elves. Act like you normally do! It will be annoying to the human! Hmph!”
“ I understand, Dragon-nim.”
“ My name is Raon. The human named me so use it!”
“ Okay Raon-nim”
Alberu watched his Gran and the baby dragon talk like a ping pong ball.
However, Alberu had a question. “ The teleportation magic and the wind magic, is it your doing Raon-nim?”
Raon's little chest puffed up, “ of course, it's a great because I made it!”
“Hmmm.. you must be hungry doing all that magic.” Gran look at the two guards. “ You two, go get some sweets and drink for us.”
The two guards rise and maybe too eager to get out of the room.
“ And, everything in this room will remain in this room okay?”
They bowed. “ Yes, sir!”
Gran look at him as the door closed. “ What were you doing here, Alberu?”
“ You just ask that now?”
“ And you also brought a guardian of Raon-nim with you.”
That is also a new information to me.
“ We were just visiting…and well since you are all here might as well tell you this.” Alberu glanced at Roksoo then at his family.
“ Roksoo and I will going to marry.”
“.....”
“.....”
“ Does this mean, that I can meet Raon-nim again?”
“ You what? When? Where? Why do I only know this?”
Tasha gasped and glare at Gran. “Grandpa! Alberu is going to marry! Focus!”
“If so, then you have my blessing!”
“ Gran!”
Alberu almost want to be together with the floor in embarassment. He seek a glance at Roksoo. He look blank. Too blank.
“ I'm sorry about them.”
Roksoo merely blink at him. “ no its okay.”
Shrill, Alberu sighed to himself. This is totally not the image that Alberu want to present ti Roksoo in terms of his family.
Thankfully, he did not seem affronted.
Alberu caught the young dragon looking at him.
He look like he have something to say, however the guard returned with tray of snacks and drinks with them.
They carefully put them in the table and excuse themselves.
Alberu hand the crescent moon shaped cookie to Raon. he narrowed his eyes at him but accepted the offered sweet nonetheless.
Hahhh, this is gonna be exhausting….
