Chapter Text

Evbo was the Parkour God.

He possessed power. An enthralling power - the ability to watch, listen, and, if needed, aid the people.

As far as he knew, he had always been a God. All he remembered was darkness before a blinding glow. With an innate knowledge of his purpose and the halo that sat proudly above his head, he was determined to prevail.

His main power - or rather his task - was to watch over the people of Parkour Civilization.

When Evbo undertook Godhood, he was initially captivated by the job and compelled to be the perfect God. He would listen to the people's wishes, amending anything needed. At first, Evbo was lenient, sympathising with the people and answering their wishes to their delight.

The people knew that the Parkour God existed, but they were unaware of the character behind their beloved God.

Evbo would watch over them and their happiness, smiling as he assisted, but despite the good feeling he got, it soon dulled to an emptiness. Although he was immortal and didn't experience typical mortal emotion or bodily limitations, he had always encountered this strange sadness.

Despite the power he possessed, Evbo sometimes longed to be a mortal. Sitting alone and watching his people pained him. He tried to help others gain a sense of mortal happiness, and for a short while, he accomplished it, but it didn't aid the overwhelming feeling of loneliness.

After a while, the people began to request overly absurd acts, taking advantage of Evbo's mercy.

He had enough.

Instead of obeying the people's wishes, he turned his back and refused to listen. He watched his people grow angry and upset, enraged that their lives weren't going as smoothly as before. They had taken their anger out on their God, cursing and revoking their appreciation of him. At that moment, the people ignored Evbo's past meritable actions.

This all added to the God's pain. They didn't care about him, only themselves.

*

It was a typical day.

Evbo watched as the sun rose, lighting up the civilization before him. Before him were all the layers of Parkour Civilization, ranging from Masters to Noob. From the beauty of the place to the individuals overlooking the civilization, it used to feel magical.

The best moment was as the sun hit the top layer. With the rays seeping through the gaps between the blocks, the light reflected that of a sea, the rays bouncing off a block before streaming down to the lower layer. The myriad blocks filled the sky, each shadowed by its successor but one.
As the sun rose higher, it hit the glass panes of the Master layer, reflecting varying colours onto white buildings.

The same beauty lingered, yet Evbo was so dampened by loneliness that he failed to appreciate it.

His loneliness weighed on him like a heavy pall, crushing his chest. The feeling distinguished the fire that initially flickered intensely inside of him. Occasionally, Evbo would encounter a tiny spark of happiness, which periodically motivated him to reignite his ambition, but it soon diminished.

Evbo, bored, questioned what would happen if he attempted to leave the sky. He didn't want to abandon his role, but for just one day, he wanted to experience a day as a parkourer - a human. Minus the halo, Evbo embodied a human form via appearance, but that was where it ended.

Curious, Evbo slowly floated down, approaching the civilization beneath him. Nearing the division between the sky and the civilization, he was overcome by a strange tingling that dominated his form. He had never had this issue before. Evbo pushed through the sensation before the feeling suddenly stopped.

He finally made it through.

Evbo continued to float down towards the blocks below him. As he reached the top layer, he lowered himself onto a block. Once his foot made contact with the block, his legs buckled as he fell onto all fours.

"What the-"

He had never experienced standing up without his floating ability. His legs felt too heavy, and his feet felt strange and firmly rooted on the block. Evbo pulled himself up, swaying slightly, unbalanced as he adjusted to his physical form.

In the distance, Evbo noticed a building—one of the skyscrapers.

He shuffled his feet, ensuring he was stable before crouching his knees slightly, mimicking the position he had seen so many mortals do.

“3, 2, 1,” Evbo muttered, “Go,”

He launched himself forward, managing to gain height, but he lacked the necessary momentum to reach the next block. In a split second, Evbo hit his head as he missed the block, and the sharp edge of the block indented into his forehead. He continued falling through the gap, hitting the front and back of his head as he was tossed with the momentum of gravity. Upon reaching the bottom layer, Evbo's body thudded against a dirt block. Landing on his side, his arms contorted into a strange position as his legs hung over the block's edge. His head, face and many other parts of Evbo's body were cut, bloody and bruised.

Immediately, Evbo opened his eyes, muttering to himself. His whole body ached. He had never experienced this feeling that dominated him. Evbo tried to pull himself up, but a sharp pain immediately stopped him. A strange wetness on his face distracted him. As he gently touched his face, he examined his fingers - blood, something he had never personally encountered before.

"Hey," A voice muttered.

From Evbo's position, he could not see the noise source or determine it was aimed at him.

"Are you alive? How?"

The voice sounded more shocked than anything. Only as the footsteps approached him loudened did Evbo realise that the voice was directed at him.

"You can see me?" Evbo asked.

Evbo's heart felt heavy as he was noticed for the first time. An overwhelming emotion struck him. His throat clogged up as his eyes began to sting slightly, tears pricking the corners of them. This feeling and action were entirely new to him.

Evbo found the situation strange. He was experiencing the pain, physical and emotional, of a mortal being, but after such a fall, he would have definitely died.

He noted that, in his form, he must have sustained his immortality but had adopted varying unknown bodily limitations. The only limitations he currently knew of were physical and emotional pain.

"Um, yeah, I can see you," the voice said, jumping to the block next to Evbo.

Evbo slowly opened his eyes. Above him, he could see the multitudes of blocks from the higher levels. They loomed over him on the bottom level, shadowing the layer below and taunting him over his foolish descent. His vision of the sky and higher layers were soon blocked by a figure - the source of the noise. As Evbo's eyes focused, he made out the man's features. He had long black hair, and his eyes were purple as amethyst. He wore white and purple, his body bejewelled with gold, a gold totem strung around his neck. Evbo was fascinated by the man's eyes, allured by the softness in the purple abyss, a gentle sparkle. As he leaned over Evbo, the man quickly clutched a golden crown which had slipped from its usual position.

"I'm Seawatt," The man said, "What's your name?"

"Evbo," The God mumbled, pain dispersing throughout his body.

"Stay still," Seawatt said quickly, "You fell from quite the height, and you definitely have sustained many injuries,"

"What's going on?" Evbo mumbled,  "What is this feeling?"

Seawatt kneeled at Evbo's side, examining his injuries.

"I'm going to help you, okay?" Seawatt said.

"Help me?"

Evbo had never received help before. The fact that this random person had stopped to aid him made him smile despite the excruciating pain.

"Of course," Seawatt said.

"Thank you," Evbo muttered.

A simple two-word statement expressed such gratitude. Mortals expected the exchange of manners in an act of politeness or a genuine remark. At the beginning of Evbo's Godhood, he had heard those words countless times, usually in a whisper as mortals looked up. They couldn't see him but felt his presence after their wishes had been answered.

Evbo attempted to bring his arms back to support himself in sitting up. Immediately, Evbo whined out in pain, his arms seizing up.

"What did I say?" Seawatt said, "Don't move,"

Seawatt reached towards Evbo's bloodied and torn hoodie.

"Do you mind if I touch you?"

Touch? He had never been touched before.

"I don't mind," Evbo muttered.

Seawatt reached towards Evbo's head, tilting it as he slowly examined him. Evbo had deep cuts which continued to seep blood, clotting and staining his blonde hair. Many lumps and bruises had formed across his face and under his hair. Seawatt mumbled to himself, noting Evbo's injuries before he redirected his gaze to Evbo's bloody and torn hoodie. Luckily, Evbo's hoodie was baggy and lay loose around his slender frame.

"Do you mind if I lift up your hoodie and sleeves?"

"Yep, fine,"

Seawatt gently pushed up Evbo's hoodie, revealing many developing bruises and a large gash that travelled up the majority of his stomach. Seawatt winced upon seeing the gash continuing to ooze blood as Evbo's torso moved with each inhale and exhale.

"This might hurt," Seawatt said before carefully pushing up Evbo's sleeves.

Gently, Seawatt traced Evbo's arms with his hands, feeling their uneven nature and confirming their breakage.

Although Evbo was in extreme pain, he experienced a warm, tingling sensation as Seawatt's fingers made contact with his skin. Evbo felt butterflies in his stomach, and a wave of happiness rushed over him every time Seawatt's fingers rested on his skin. His touch felt so prominent but delicate as his fingers trailed up Evbo's arm. He had never felt someone else's touch before, let alone the delicacy that Seawatt treated him with.

"Definitely broken," Seawatt said, "In several places,"

"What do I need to do?"

"You will struggle to heal all of this yourself," Seawatt said as he gently felt Evbo's legs over his trousers, "Broken legs too. You must be in shock to still be just lying there,"

"Believe me, I have never felt such pain,"

"If you want, I can help you heal," Seawatt said, "Luckily, I know exactly the potions and help you need, thanks to my parents who taught me before… before," he stuttered, attempting to remember his past, but struggling to do so, "Anyway, I know exactly what to do if you trust me,"

"I trust you," Evbo said.

The words slipped out of his mouth before he internally processed them.

Did he trust him? Could he trust him?

A crushing pain shot through his body, a paralysing surge spreading all over.

He didn't have a choice.

Seawatt smiled.

"Okay, I can give you a resistance potion to help you feel stronger, but it won't help the pain," Seawatt said, "Unfortunately, I don't have any healing potions on me or my brewing stands. The one time I don't bring them, of course I need them,"

"Do whatever you need to do," Evbo said.

"Alright, I'm sorry in advance," Seawatt muttered, reaching into his inventory and retrieving a corked glass bottle, "I will need you to drink this. Do you mind if I help you?"

"I can try to-" Evbo tried to lift his head too high.

A pounding pain and heavy weight pushed down on Evbo's face, a tight ache tightly searing around the circumference of his head. Blinking rapidly, he tried to fix his vision, which, by moving his head too quickly, grew blurred and flickered black.

"Here, let me help," Seawatt said.

He uncorked the bottle before softly pushing his hand under Evbo's head, his fingers sliding through the weaves of hair. Seawatt tilted Evbo's head ever so slightly before carefully positioning the bottle between his lips and slowly pouring it into Evbo's mouth.

Evbo had never drunk before. He never had needed to. As Seawatt poured the contents of the potion, it collected in his mouth. After a while, Evbo instinctively swallowed, gulping the potion he felt travelling coldly inside him. It was an odd sensation.

After a few moments, Evbo felt his body strength. It failed to match the typical standard he experienced in his God form but was much better than the weariness and weakness that had overcome him upon his fall.

"The potion won't be in effect for too long, so we must move quickly," Seawatt said, "There's no way of getting around this; I will have to carry you back to mine. It's not too far from here,"

"Can you manage?" Evbo asked.

"I will try my best," Seawatt responded, "I'm a lot stronger than I look."

Chapter Text

As Seawatt slid his hands and arms under Evbo's torso and waist, he positioned himself, bending his knees, readying himself to pick him up.

"This will one hundred percent hurt like hell," Seawatt said, "Ready?"

"Ready," Evbo said.

Immediately, Seawatt hoisted Evbo into his arms in a cradle-carry potion.

As soon as Evbo was lifted, he screamed out in pain, tears streaming down his eyes. The pain was agonising and consumed his entire form. The pain and screams had taken his breath away, his heart racing against his aching chest.

"I know, I know," Seawatt attempted to comfort him, "It'll be okay soon. I'm so sorry,"

Each jump Seawatt made caused a jolt of extreme pain to eat into him.

Why did he wish to experience being a human? Being a human sucked.

Eventually, they reached Seawatt's house. It felt like an eternity for both of them. Immediately, Seawatt lay Evbo on his bed, wiping the sweat from his forehead. Evbo felt the softness of the pillow behind his head and the blanket beneath him. It felt soothing.

"Right," Seawatt mumbled to himself, collecting items, "This, this and this,"

He approached Evbo with three full bottles of healing, cloth, water, and bandages, laying them on a block beside the bed.

"Okay, I'm going to start with your cuts," Seawatt said.

"Thank you," Evbo said.

He wanted to repeat the words over and over again. He felt so grateful that this random person was helping him to this extent. Honestly, he couldn't believe it.

"This may sting, but believe me, nothing will be as painful as me carrying you here," Seawatt said as he pulled up Evbo's hoodie before wetting the cloth. He gently dabbed the cloth against Evbo's significant cut across his stomach. Evbo sharply inhaled, flinching inwards at the pain, but Seawatt proceeded with care, taking it slow and ensuring he was gentle. Once Evbo's wound was clean, Seawatt unravelled a bandage before covering the cut tightly.

"You have smaller cuts, but I am hoping that the healing potions will do their magic," Seawatt said, reaching the second of the healing potions and standing up. He plumped up the pillow under Evbo's head, his head at a slight angle.

"I'm going to give you this, okay?"

Seawatt displayed the potion above Evbo.

"Okay," Evbo said.

Seawatt sat beside him, placing the top of the bottle between Evbo's pursed lips.

"Here we go," Seawatt murmured, slowly lifting the bottom of the bottle as Evbo swallowed its contents.

Once Evbo had finished drinking, Seawatt returned the empty glass bottom to the block before retrieving the remaining potion.

After a few moments, Evbo felt his body relax as the stinging pain of his cuts and bruises soothed.

"I just need to apply this to your skin, and it should help your broken bones," Seawatt said, opening the bottle, "We'll have to use this probably about a week before your bones should completely heal,"

We. Evbo smiled at the plural. Never had he had someone on his side.

"How are you feeling?" Seawatt asked.

"Better," Evbo smiled, "Thanks to you,"

"Good, I'm glad," Seawatt said, lathering his hands with the healing potion and returning to his spot beside Evbo, "This may tingle and ache a bit, but it will eventually ease and feel a little better,"

Evbo nodded as Seawatt cupped his palms around Evbo's arm, lightly massaging the potion into his skin.

As Seawatt had warned him, his arm tingled and dully ached as soon as the potion made contact with his skin, but the softness of Seawatt's fingers improved the situation immensely. Evbo reexperienced the same feeling as when Seawatt touched his skin for the first time - a spark of warmth that made his heart feel full.

Pushing his hoodie sleeve further up his other arm, Seawatt readded the liquid to his hands before massaging it into his left arm.

Evbo mumbled in pain as Seawatt accidentally pushed down too hard.

"Oops, sorry," Seawatt said.

"No, no, all good," Evbo responded with a smile.

"Anyway, you're all done for now," Seawatt said, "Just need some food and a good night's rest; you'll feel a lot better. We will reapply more in the morning. In the meantime, I should start us some food. Are you much hungry?"

"How do you know if you're hungry?"

"Um, do you feel your stomach grumbling or aching?"

"It hurts," Evbo said, "And I feel an uncomfortable sensation in my stomach and throat,"

"That's the nausea," Seawatt said, "It's because your body is still in shock. You have to remember you took quite the fall. Food will help you recover your strength, though, even if you don't feel like any,"

Seawatt washed his hands before he retrieved pre-diced and blended beef, red and brown mushrooms, carrots and potatoes, putting them together and cooking them on the stove.

"Lucky that I have already prepared all of this," Seawatt said, stirring the soup together before splitting the mixture between two wooden bowls.

Evbo glanced over to Seawatt to the best of his ability.

"I bet you're wondering where I got all of this on the noob layer," Seawatt continued as he dished up the soup, "I actually have a house on each layer up to Masters, believe it or not,"

“How?” Evbo muttered.

He had watched people move into a new house when advancing layers. Their old house would be sold to the next person, who would pay via parkour.

"I don't know," Seawatt said, "I always said that the Parkour God above must love me or something," Seawatt took a sip of the soup, ensuring it was cooked, "I shouldn't know this, but I know that the God can use command blocks to do whatever he likes to us. I get these strange dreams that feel so real," Seawatt laughed, "I don't know why I am telling you this; anyway, the soup is done,"

Evbo froze as Seawatt mentioned the God, his heart racing. He wanted to pry about Seawatt's ramblings, but he stopped himself, not wanting Seawatt to find him suspicious.

"You'll need at least a few spoonfuls, okay?" Seawatt said, filling a spoon up with soup before blowing on it, "Open up,"

Evbo immediately opened his mouth as Seawatt fed him a spoonful of soup.

The texture, viscosity and temperature were the first things Evbo encountered. Compared to the potion, the soup was thicker. The soup was also surprisingly warm, a perfect temperature, and warmed his tongue before he swallowed and warmed his insides. The next thing was the flavour. The amalgamation of the carrots' sweetness, the mushrooms' earthiness and the potatoes' richness created a perfect appetising blend.

Evbo licked his lips, his stomach grumbling for more.

He was hungry, after all.

"This is really good," Evbo said as Seawatt gave him another spoonful.

"Thank you," Seawatt said, "It's a family recipe,"

As Seawatt continued to spoon-feed Evbo, many thoughts raced through their heads.

Evbo was torn between thoughts regarding himself, ranging from these new mortal feelings and requirements to his Godhood and how he would obtain his Godly body again. On the other hand, thoughts about Seawatt disrupted his mind frequently. These included questions about why he was helping him, whether Seawatt knew Evbo's proper form and an odd feeling that Seawatt felt familiar.

Seawatt tried to silence his mind, focusing on the task at hand, but, as usual, his mind won. Many of his thoughts were anxieties regarding Evbo - the random stranger who somehow didn't die from a giant fall who he carried back to his home and is currently spoon-feeding. It all sounded insane, saying it out loud (in his head). What if Evbo was a murderer or a bad person? How did he fall from such a height? Could he have been in a fight or perhaps punished? He shook his head. He was definitely overthinking this. The main thought that continued to push to the forefront of his mind was the strange feeling that he had met Evbo before. He could have sworn that he had seen that same hoodie in his dreams. Was that he was helping him? Was it this strange notion that he knew Evbo from elsewhere? He wouldn't just carry any man to his home, would he? He surely would hope not.

"Why are you helping me?" Evbo said, breaking Seawatt's thoughts.

"I-" Seawatt started, unsure how to respond, "I am strangely drawn to you,"

"You are?"

"Are you sure we have never met?" Seawatt continued.

"You do feel familiar," Evbo admitted, "I just can't think,"

"That's probably from hitting your head too hard," Seawatt said, stifling a small laugh, impressed by his quick wit.

"Yeah," Evbo said as the realisation hit him, "Yes, you're so right. I'm sure that when I'm better, I'll be able to remember,"

Evbo and Seawatt continued to speak to each other, mainly Seawatt talking at Evbo, with him nodding in response. Strangely, Evbo wanted to carry the conversation. He had dreamed of being able to speak to someone else, but now that the time had arrived, he couldn't think of the right words to say.

Evbo could listen to Seawatt speak all day, but slowly, Seawatt's words turned harder to follow, his eyes growing heavy. Evbo yawned.

"I completely lost track of time," Seawatt said, "I'm not used to having people to talk to. Anyway, we should both sleep. I'll be in the room next door if you need me,"

"Thank you so much, Seawatt," Evbo smiled.

"Not a problem."

Despite never sleeping in his life, Evbo stared at the wooden walls until his eyes naturally closed, and he drifted off to sleep.

Chapter Text

Seawatt entered the main room, where Evbo continued to sleep. He smiled. Evbo appeared so peaceful as he slept. As Seawatt reached for a book, he accidentally knocked over several bowls. They fell to the floor in a loud clatter. Immediately, Evbo opened his eyes, his heart pounding and jumping, scared by the loud noise.

"Sorry," Seawatt murmured, "It's all okay, it was only some bowls,"

"Ah," Evbo said, yawning.

Evbo was confused about what had happened. Had he lost consciousness? Oddly, his body felt less heavy. Did he do what Seawatt had said? 'Sleep?'. Evbo knew mortals needed sleep and would do so as the sunset. Everything grew silent when his civilization darkened. He lacked company even more so than he usually did.

Forgetting his injuries, Evbo felt the urge to stretch. As he pushed his arm up, he immediately pulled it back, grumbling in pain.

"It doesn't work that quick, I'm afraid," Seawatt said.

"I know," Evbo mumbled, "I forgot about what I had done,"

His injuries soon reminded him of their presence - A dull ache consuming him, gnawing at his bones.

"We can give you one healing potion this morning and another this evening," Seawatt said, "Accompanied with the healing potion rubbed into your skin, of course. We need to heal those broken bones asap,"

"Can I have some now, please?" Evbo muttered.

He needed release from this pain that had suddenly struck him.

"Of course," Seawatt said, "Just need to finish these carrots, then I'm all yours,"

After adding the edible gold to his carrots and leaving them to mix, he reached into his chest, grabbing the ingredients for his healing potion. Carrying his ingredients to the corner of the room, he crouched beside his brewing stand before adding and boiling them with a strange powder. The mixture dripped into the glass bottle below. Once the glass was filled, Seawatt shaked its contents, a gold shimmer spiralling within the bottle. He placed it beside him before he clutched another bottle and repeated the process. Soon, three bottles were filled.

"You ready to drink this?" Seawatt asked, continuing to shake the bottle and ensuring the contents had been appropriately mixed.

"Yes," Evbo said quickly, desperate for the pain to ease, "Please," he added.

"Soon, you'll be able to drink this yourself," Seawatt said as he put the bottle in Evbo's mouth. Evbo quickly gulped the potion. "Steady," Seawatt laughed as some potion dribbled from Evbo's lips down his chin. Seawatt wiped it away as Evbo finished the potion.

"Thank you," Evbo said, a wave of relief and ease dominating him as the potion effects slowly took effect.

"While that's kicking in, let me apply this to your skin," Seawatt said, rubbing the potion into his hands before he ran them up Evbo's arm.

Evbo inhaled deeply as that same tingling warm sensation travelled up his arm. It instantly soothed him. Seawatt continued to apply the potion on Evbo's other arm and legs before gently examining Evbo's head.

"Those bruises and cuts are healing nicely," Seawatt commented, gently running his fingers through Evbo's hair. Evbo fought the urge to close his eyes, his body calming as Seawatt made contact.

"Thanks to you," Evbo said.

Seawatt laughed in response, "I'll check your main cut later tonight or tomorrow morning. I want to allow it enough time to heal before I unravel that bandage," he said, "Anyway, it's time you ate. I have made us some golden carrots,"

The remainder of the day was very similar to the previous one. Evbo remained in bed as Seawatt completed chores before both went to bed.

The following day, Evbo awoke as Seawatt entered the main room, Seawatt waking a little later than the previous day.

"Morning," Seawatt said, "Sleep well?"

"Better than yesterday," Evbo responded, noting the discomfort he experienced whenever he tried to move, yet this night had been much better.

"That must mean that you're healing nicely," Seawatt said.

Seawatt followed his new morning routine. He would leave the golden carrots to form as he brewed healing potions and attended to Evbo.

"I can move my arms now," Evbo smiled, demonstrating his ability by waving them. He moved them with too much force, instantly retracting them and exclaiming "ow ow ow" in pain.

"Don't break them again," Seawatt laughed, "But that's good that they've healed. Give it a day or two, and they'll be perfect. That should mean that we should get you standing today. Your legs may not be perfect, but we must work on those muscles. I'll find a crutch you can use for support,"

He handed Evbo one of the healing potions.

"Think you can drink this yourself today?" Seawatt asked.

Evbo took the potion from Seawatt.

"I'll try," Evbo said, slowly bringing the potion to his mouth and drinking it.

Seawatt smiled, joyful that Evbo was improving. As Evbo took his time drinking, his arms aching with each movement, Seawatt searched his chests for anything that Evbo could use as a crutch. He settled on a large stick. Whilst Seawatt's head was in his open chest, he almost hit his head, jumping at Evbo's sudden shout of pain. Instantly, he turned around, seeing that Evbo had attempted to sit up.

"Ay ay ay, careful, dude," Seawatt said, immediately racing to Evbo and helping him sit up.

"I wanted to grab the other potion," Evbo said.

When Seawatt mentioned that Evbo should be able to stand today, Evbo thought that Seawatt was insinuating that it was time for him to start doing things for himself. Did Seawatt no longer want him around? His health was improving. Was it time that he left Seawatt?

"I can grab it for you; it's okay," Seawatt said, reaching down and grabbing the other potion, "Why did you want it? You can only drink one,"

"I was going to try and grab the potion to put it on myself,"

"Oh," Seawatt said, his voice cracking slightly.

Did Evbo no longer need him? Was he going to lose him now that his health had improved?

"I don't mind doing it," Seawatt quickly continued, "You're still in pain, and I promise, it's no problem at all,"

"Are you sure?"

"Positive," Seawatt smiled.

Neither man could hide the quick smile on their face as Seawatt lathered his hands with the potion. They didn't admit it, but both were glad this was the situation. Once Seawatt had finished applying the potion, he pushed up Evbo's hoodie, gently unravelling the bandages around his torso.

"Wow," Seawatt said.

"What?"

The deep, large cut that struck Evbo's torso had almost completely healed, replaced with a more minor cut that had nearly developed into a scar.

"It's healing very well," Seawatt said, "You no longer need a bandage,"

"That's good," Evbo said, "I thought something had happened when the pain turned to an annoying itch,"

"You better not have been scratching it," Seawatt laughed.

"I didn't, I didn't."

After an hour, after Evbo's skin had absorbed the healing potion, Seawatt decided it would be a perfect time to help Evbo stand and stretch his legs. Holding onto Evbo's shoulders, Seawatt helped him sit up on the edge of the bed, his legs dangling over the edge.

"Okay, I have you a stick to use as a crutch, or if you wanted to, I could support you," Seawatt said.

"You," Evbo said quickly, "I mean, um, I'd prefer if you helped me out over a stick for now,"

"Of course," Seawatt said.

Seawatt stood on one side of him with his arm under Evbo's shoulder and around his back.

"Ready?" Seawatt asked.

"Yep,"

Together, Evbo took a few small steps, most of his weight supported by Seawatt.

"Should I try a jump?"

"Do you think you feel ready?"

"I don't know," Evbo said.

Evbo was less concerned about the pain but rather the thought that he may miss the jump again.

What would happen if he fell?

He wouldn't see Seawatt ever again.

"You've got this," Seawatt said, "I'll make sure that I support the majority of your weight,"

As Evbo approached the jump, he looked down at the void.

He had never feared anything before. He hated it. His stomach flipped, and nausea consumed him.

"Look, I'll stand here," Seawatt said, jumping to the block opposite Evbo, "And I'll do this,"

Seawatt leaned over the gap, returning his hands under Evbo's shoulders.

"Jump to me," Seawatt said, "You can do it,"

"I'm scared," Evbo admitted.

"I believe in you," Seawatt smiled.

Evbo smiled back. His fear was replaced by that warm feeling that radiated inside of him. The knots in his stomach turned to butterflies, and his heart felt full. He felt the urge to scream how thankful he was for Seawatt, but he bit his lip and got the feeling. Evbo began to recall when he had seen humans express their love for one another. Love. It was such a crazy concept that he had never understood or experienced. Was that what he was feeling right now? He shook it off, returning to the reality of the situation.

Seawatt nodded encouragingly, continuing to smile.

"Okay, okay," Evbo muttered before bending his knees slightly.

"Just don't think about it," Seawatt continued.

Just jump. Jump to Seawatt. Jump into his arms.

"Three, two, one," Evbo counted down before he jumped.

Immediately, Seawatt's grip tightened as he supported Evbo and jumped to the same block as Seawatt.

Evbo smiled. He had done it.

"I'm so proud!" Seawatt said, continuing to hold Evbo.

There was a moment of silence as Evbo and Seawatt realised how close they were to each other. Their bodies were practically pressed against each other as they shared a singular block. Suddenly, the warmth grew prominent, and both of them blushed.

"Anyway," Evbo said.

"Yes, um, you did very well," Seawatt interrupted, clearing his throat, "Do you need help getting back into bed? I'm going to start preparing some food,"

"Did you want any help with the food?" Evbo asked.

"No, no, it's okay, thank you," Seawatt said, "Besides, you need to rest after putting that much pressure onto your bones,"

As the day grew to a close, Seawatt, as usual, left to go into the other room, leaving Evbo in the main room. Usually, Evbo fell asleep quickly due to the effects of the healing potion and his recovering body, but tonight was different. His mind raced and failed to rest. He was in love, wasn't he? Or was he? God, why was love so complicated? How do humans navigate such emotions with such ease? He couldn't love Seawatt; he was a God, and Seawatt was a human. Evbo had no idea how long he would be able to stay here with him. What if Seawatt hated him if he discovered his true identity? What if Seawatt actually didn't want him here, and he was being polite until he recovered? If this was love, what if Seawatt didn't feel the same way back? Evbo sighed. In a way, he hoped that Seawatt didn't reciprocate these feelings. It would make the situation a lot easier. Or would it? He didn't want that. He wanted to experience what he had seen so many humans do. He didn't realise how powerful love was and how it dominated his entire form, physically and emotionally. He shook his head, reminding himself that this feeling might not be love. He was still adapting to human emotion.

Evbo changed his position in bed, hoping it would help him sleep, but his mind chose to taunt him instead.

If it wasn't love, why did he feel heartbroken at never seeing Seawatt again? The idea of never seeing his smile, feeling his touch or hearing his laugh pained him.

He needed sleep. His eyes were heavy, but suddenly, his heart began racing as his mind continued to scream the worst outcomes regarding Seawatt. Followed by the rapid increase of his heart rate, he struggled to catch his breath, his breaths growing hasty and shallow. After struggling for a while, Evbo felt his body shake as his hands grew numb and cold. Tears began to fall, but he couldn't explain why. He sobbed quietly, wanting this experience to end.

The quiet of the night was disturbed by a quiet noise. Seawatt lay awake in bed, listening, unsure if the noise was the wind outside or.. Evbo? Seawatt immediately stood up and jumped into the main room. His heart fell as he saw Evbo sobbing before him. Seawatt immediately realised that Evbo was experiencing a panic attack. He had to fight the urge to cry at the sight of Evbo. Oddly, seeing Evbo so emotionally hurt pained him more than when he met him physically hurt.

"I'm sorry," Evbo muttered between sobbing and shallow breaths, "Did I wake you?"

"Come here," Seawatt said, approaching him, "Everything's okay,"

Seawatt sat beside him, putting his arm around him.

"Deep breaths for me, okay?" Seawatt said, "You're okay. Everything is okay," he repeated.

Immediately, Evbo leaned against Seawatt's chest. Seawatt smiled, holding him closer.

"It's okay. You're safe," Seawatt continued.

He didn't know much about panic attacks, but he knew how to provide support for the people he cared about.

And hell, did he care about Evbo.

Seawatt didn't want to let go. He had never felt this way about anyone. He tried to protect Evbo with everything he had. He felt so strongly attached to him.

As Evbo's breathing calmed, Seawatt ran his fingers through Evbo's hair.

He knew that this calmed him.

Seawatt knew many random facts about Evbo that he was sure that Evbo didn't know that he knew about. Seawatt had always noticed the little details and remembered them well.

"Evbo?" Seawatt muttered.

No response.

"Evbo?"

Silence.

As Seawatt looked down, he realised that Evbo had fallen asleep against him.

Carefully, Seawatt lay him and Evbo down in the bed with Evbo still wrapped in one arm. He pulled the sheets over them with his free hand. Soon, Evbo repositioned himself in his sleep, his head resting lightly against Seawatt's chest with his arm resting over him. Seawatt couldn't help but smile.

He was in love, wasn't he?

Chapter Text

As Evbo slowly woke up, he felt a strange warmness and comfort as opposed to the general emptiness and coldness that he had grown accustomed to waking up to. He opened his eyes, realising that he was lying on Seawatt, his chest gently moving as he breathed. Seawatt was still asleep. Evbo noticed that his arm lay across Seawatt's body. Evbo also felt pressure around his back. Was the Seawatt's arm too?

Evbo smiled to himself.

Evbo underestimated how lonely Godhood was, but in Seawatt's arms, none of that mattered. He had never experienced the warmth of an embrace or the feeling of being wanted for him and himself alone. He had never thought he would feel his heart beat so hastily for someone else or experience how the delicacy of someone else's touch made his stomach flutter.

Evbo owned everything. He was the God, after all. But one thing he never possessed was a home. He had watched so many individuals go home after a long day. He had watched the relief and comfort that crossed peoples' faces as they returned home. Evbo had longed for that feeling, any feeling of comfort, really.

Finally, he was experiencing what he had dreamt of.

He had finally found his home.

Evbo closed his eyes, remaining as still as possible to ensure he didn't wake Seawatt. He wanted to treasure this moment for as long as possible.

Seawatt shortly woke up. He had completely forgotten about the previous night until he felt the pressure of Evbo on his chest. He opened his eyes to see Evbo's tousled hair sprawled beneath him; his arm had remained around Evbo's back throughout the night. Seawatt fought the urge to run his fingers through Evbo's hair, though the desperation was becoming more difficult to ignore. As he held Evbo, he felt like he was holding the world. He had only known this man for such a short time, yet, in his arms, it felt like he had known him for a lifetime.

Evbo moved his head slightly, signalling to Seawatt that he was waking up.

How was Evbo going to react to waking up in his arms? Was he going to freak out?

"Morning," Seawatt said quietly.

"Morning," Evbo mumbled as he looked up at Seawatt, not moving from him.

"You, um, fell asleep against me last night, and after the dreadful evening you were having, I thought it was best to", Seawatt began, quickly attempting to explain their situation.

"It's fine," Evbo interrupted as he returned his head to its original position.

Evbo was too comfortable and happy to move.

Seawatt exhaled in relief before he gave in to the temptation of running his fingers through Evbo's hair.

They lay in silence together for a while, not wanting this moment to end.

Eventually, Seawatt's stomach grumbled, signalling it was time for them to get up.

"Time to start the day," Seawatt said as Evbo hesitantly moved from Seawatt's chest so he could move, "I'll start crafting some gold carrots, then I'll grab you your potions,"

"Thank you," Evbo said, sitting on the edge of the bed and carefully stretching his arms and legs.

Soon, Seawatt handed Evbo a healing potion, which, as usual, he quickly drank. Evbo stood up, placing the empty glass bottle on the block beside the bed before he took a deep breath and jumped to the brewing stand where Seawatt was finishing the final potions.

"Wow, you've improved massively," Seawatt smiled.

"Yeah, my legs ache a bit as I land, but they don't hurt,"

"Well, here you go," Seawatt said, handing Evbo two more potions, "These will still need applying for just today at least,"

"Thanks," Evbo said as he returned to the bed before he began applying the potion to his skin, copying the technique he had seen Seawatt do so many times. As the potion made contact with his skin, it shared a similar soothing feeling as before, yet it was missing the softness and warmth of Seawatt's touch. It was missing the love behind it.

"Um, Seawatt," Evbo mumbled, "I have applied parts, but I'm struggling to stretch and reach some places. Could you help, please?"

"Of course,"

A while later, Seawatt showed Evbo around his house before giving a tutorial on using a brewing stand. It was not only interesting for Evbo, but it also meant a day of standing up and jumping around. Jumping between blocks began to feel like second nature to him. As Seawatt reached for a book detailing potion recipes on his upper shelf, Evbo was startled by a strange noise. It sounded like something was trying to get inside the house. The noise of hitting echoed outside the front and on the roof. It was everywhere.

"What's that noise?" Evbo muttered, nearing Seawatt and clutching his arm.

"It's only rain," Seawatt said.

Rain?

He had only ever been above the clouds.

He hadn't realised it was so loud.

"I don't think it's a storm," Seawatt continued.

"It's so loud," Evbo said, still clutching Seawatt's arm.

"I love it," Seawatt said, "I find it relaxing. In fact, let's go,"

"Go where?"

"Come on," Seawatt grabbed Evbo's hand, leading him to the front door. Seawatt stepped outside, but Evbo lingered inside, hesitant, "I promise it'll be fun,"

Seawatt wasn't aware that Evbo had never experienced rain before.

"I don't know," Evbo said, "I'm scared,"

"I won't let go of you," Seawatt said, understanding Evbo's fear as a fear of slipping from a block.

Evbo saw the smile on Seawatt's face as he stood outside. The rain wasn't harming him in any way. Slowly, Evbo allowed Seawatt to pull his hand outside. He felt as the drops hit his hand and rolled down his fingers onto Seawatt's hand. The rain felt cold but soft. Evbo jumped outside, allowing the rain to consume him entirely. He felt as the water landed in his hair, wetting the strands together. The rain landed on his clothes and was quickly absorbed, leaving a damp feeling on his skin below. Evbo looked up at Seawatt, who was smiling.

"It's refreshing, isn't it?" Seawatt laughed, continuing to hold his hands.

Evbo smiled back. He loved to see such a massive grin on Seawatt's face. Happiness suited him.

They continued to laugh together, jumping further out of the house.

Seawatt stopped as he looked in the distance, admiring the hazy view, yet Evbo didn't realise, jumping onto the same block as Seawatt.

"Woah, careful, careful," Seawatt said as he immediately grabbed and held him.

Once they stabilised each other, Seawatt and Evbo pulled away simultaneously, yet Seawatt continued to hold his shoulders.

Evbo looked at Seawatt. The rain trailed along his face, dripping from his hair. Droplets caught on his crown, making it shimmer in the mere sun. He was beautiful.

"What you staring at?" Seawatt laughed, moving a strand of wet hair away from Evbo's face and gazing into his eyes.

Evbo froze.

What was this feeling?

He felt his cheeks warm as he heard his heartbeat in his ears.

Was this fear? Embarrassment? Love?

He was unsure if the feeling resulted from Seawatt catching him staring, the sweet touch against his face, Seawatt making direct eye contact or his eyes attempting to say something that Evbo failed to comprehend.

Evbo didn't know what was going on.

"I-"

He tried to form words, but nothing came to him.

These feelings for Seawatt were growing more and more intense each day. He had accepted and defined his emotion as love, but this hurt Evbo even more. He hadn't a clue how love worked. This was his first time and maybe his only time. Seawatt didn't deserve this. Plus, Evbo was a God - The God. He couldn't stay a mortal forever. Eventually, he would have to return to his position in the sky, and his experience of love would be a distant, faint memory. When that happened, what would happen to Seawatt? Would Seawatt hate him, or would he continue holding on to the only true love he ever had, hoping that he would return one day?

"I'm sorry," Evbo said as he turned away and jumped to the next block. Seawatt's grip loosened until his hand fell away.

Seawatt bit his lip. Had he been too forward? Had he scared Evbo away? What if Evbo didn't feel the same way back, and he had crossed a line?

"Wait," Seawatt said, clutching Evbo's arm, "Don't go,"

Evbo was everything to Seawatt. He couldn't let this happen.

"I'm the one who should be sorry," Seawatt said.

"What?" Evbo said, confused.

"What?" Seawatt said, "Are you not mad at me?"

"Of course not," Evbo said, "How could I ever be mad at you?"

Seawatt remained silent for a few moments, taking in Evbo's words.

"Then why did you turn away?"

“I, um-” Evbo stuttered.

He couldn't tell Seawatt the truth, could he?

"I can't really put it into words," Evbo said, "I just can't-"

"Let's go back," Seawatt said, "If you want to, that is,"

Seawatt didn't know that Evbo had no other place to go.

"We can talk about this out of the rain," Seawatt said.

"Okay," Evbo said.

The warmth instantly hit them as they stepped inside the house. They had been quiet the journey back, an awkwardness lingering in the silence.

"I'll grab you a towel," Seawatt said.

"Thanks," Evbo said.

Seawatt left the main room, entered his room, and opened a chest.

Evbo continued to stand. He was unsure how to approach the situation. Before he could think too hard, Seawatt reentered the main room, holding a towel, a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms.

"I found these in my chest too," Seawatt said, signalling to the clothes, "Completely fine if you don't want them, but they are here for you if you want to get out of those wet clothes. I'm going to change real quick myself,"

Seawatt left the dry clothes and towel on the bed.

"Thank you," Evbo said, his brain still racing.

Once Seawatt had left the room, Evbo jumped to the clothes. He clutched the towel, rubbing it against his wet hair. Once his hair was damp instead of dripping wet, he pulled his hoodie over his head, dropping it onto the floor. Picking up the towel, he dried himself before slipping on the t-shirt. Its material was much softer than his usual hoodie and smelled like Seawatt. He continued to pull down his trousers, the material annoyingly sticking to his skin, before drying his legs and pulling on the tracksuit bottoms. They fit him well.

"Can I come in yet?" Seawatt asked.

"Yeah," Evbo said.

"Didn't want to enter if you were changing," Seawatt said as he walked into the main room.

Looking at Evbo, he hid a smile at the sight of Evbo wearing his clothes. His happiness soon diminished, remembering the conversation they needed to have.

"So, did you want to talk this out then?" Seawatt said.

"Yeah," Evbo said.

"Okay, okay," Seawatt said, taking a deep breath, "Let's just sit on the bed,"

As they sat beside each other, Seawatt noticed Evbo shivering.

"Hold on," Seawatt said, reaching into the chest next to the bed and retrieving a large blanket before he wrapped it around Evbo.

"Thank you," Evbo said as he opened the blanket and wrapped it around Seawatt, too.

Seawatt smiled, accepting the blanket.

As Evbo felt Seawatt's warmth, he smiled. At that moment, he decided to put his Godhood worries aside and focus on experiencing whatever was blossoming between him and Seawatt. This was everything he ever wanted, but instead of embracing it, he tried to avoid it due to his anxieties. He wasn't going to let them get in the way any more. Yes, he didn't know how long he would have access to this life, but Evbo realised that he should enjoy the now instead of concerning about the later.

"I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable earlier," Seawatt said, breaking Evbo's thoughts.

"It wasn't you," Evbo said, "Please don't blame yourself. I just have a lot on my mind right now,"

"I understand. A lot has happened to you recently," Seawatt said, "I'm here if you want to talk about anything on your mind,"

"I think the main thing is that I'm not used to these emotions that I am feeling,"

"And what is it that you're feeling?" Seawatt said, the words slipping out quickly.

There was a short silence.

"Love," Evbo muttered quietly.

Silence.

"Love?" Seawatt repeated.

Seawatt felt his heartbeat pounding against his chest.

Was Evbo confessing his feelings for him?

"I love you," Evbo paused for a moment,  "But I have no idea what I'm doing or how to express it," he said quickly, "But it's definitely love,"

"I know a way," Seawatt said, edging closer to Evbo.

Seawatt leaned in towards Evbo but stopped himself.

He was so close to Evbo's face.

He had never kissed anyone before. What if he messed this up? He couldn't think of this now.

He looked at Evbo's face again, and Seawatt instantly grew scared again. He had never thought he would be this close to someone, let alone initiate a kiss.

That's when it clicked.

Seawatt clutched Evbo's headband, covering Evbo's eyes before Seawatt once again leaned in.

As his lips met Evbo's, he was instantly met with the softness of the man's lips. Evbo immediately kissed Seawatt back.

This was the first time that both of them had experienced such passion.

The world around them faded along with all of their worries and concerns. At this moment, it was just them. Their hearts raced against their chests as they surrendered themselves to the other. The mutual need for this moment was evident, with both refusing to pull the way. As soon as one would take a breath, they instantly leaned back in. This moment communicated more than their words ever could.

Evbo pulled his headband from his eyes to catch glimpses of Seawatt between kisses. Evbo's hands clutched Seawatt's waist as Seawatt moved his hands to Evbo's blushing face, moving the hair that had fallen from his eyes.

The blanket fell from them as the kisses grew more intense, both desperate to express the emotion that they'd been hiding. Evbo pulled Seawatt closer to him. He couldn't get enough of the tenderness of Seawatt's lips, the closeness between them, the overwhelming feeling of love that dominated his form. It was intoxicating.

Seawatt's crown slipped from his head, resulting in him pulling away and grabbing it before it fell to the floor.

There was a short silence before they burst into laughter, Evbo putting his head on Seawatt's shoulder.

They were both so in love with each other.

Chapter Text

Evbo sat alone, his legs dangling from a dirt block.

He looked up, admiring the night sky. Something that he had never experienced as a God.

It was beautiful.

A canopy of twinkling stars was sprinkled upon a blanket of black. Some stars were separated, sparkling as individuals, whereas others were clustered, forming constellations. To his left was the moon, which shone brightest of them all. It was a full moon, large enough for Evbo to see the varying hues of whites and greys that the moon proudly displayed.

A cool breeze brushed against him, causing goosebumps on his arms. He inhaled. The crisp smell of the night soothed him.

"Care if I join you?" Seawatt asked, jumping towards him.

"Sure," Evbo replied.

Seawatt sat on the block beside him.

"It's beautiful," Evbo said.

"Isn't it just?" Seawatt said.

"Not as beautiful as you,"

"Stoppppp," Seawatt blushed, covering his face.

"That was smooth, you've got to give me that,"

They laughed before sitting in silence for a while, allowing the serenity to wash over them.

Evbo was amazed by how everything appeared even more stunning in Seawatt's presence. Evbo smiled before he lay his head on Seawatt's shoulder, before Seawatt clutched Evbo's hand. Evbo smiled, shutting his eyes. Evbo knew he was the God, but he always felt protected wherever he was with Seawatt. It calmed him down immensely.

Suddenly, Seawatt's body shot up, knocking Evbo's head from his shoulder.

"Evbo, look!"

"What?" Evbo said, looking behind him.

"No silly, look!" Seawatt said, pointing up at the sky.

Evbo averted his gaze up. He watched a star fall quickly, passing the stationary stars and trailing through the black.

Seawatt tightened his grip on Evbo's hand.

"Did you see it? Did you see the shooting star?" Seawatt exclaimed.

"Yes!"

"Make a wish,"

"What?"

"When you see a shooting star, you make a wish," Seawatt said, "But you can't say it out loud; otherwise it won't come true,"

Evbo knew exactly what his wish was.

He only had one.

'I wish that my time with Seawatt will never end.'

*

After a while, the night grew cold. Both of them decided that, despite the tranquillity and beauty of the night sky, it was time to go home.

They jumped back together. They weren't too far away from home.

"Evbo," Seawatt said quickly.

Evbo, who had been jumping a few blocks ahead, smiled.

"Did you see another shooting star?" Evbo asked cheerfully, turning around.

His smile quickly faltered into a frown. His eyes widened as he gulped.

Seawatt was held by someone that Evbo hadn't seen before. The man had Seawatt's arms around his back, tying his wrists together with vines. Seawatt's face had grown white, tears welling up in his eyes.

"Let him go!" Evbo shouted.

Anger boiled inside of him. He clenched his fists as his once cold body grew warm.

"Evbo," Seawatt's voice trembled.

Evbo could hear the desperation and fear laced on Seawatt's mutter of a single word. Hearing Seawatt say his name with such cadence sent a shiver up his spine.

Once the man had successfully tied Seawatt's wrists together, he threw his shaking form to the block below, turning his attention to Evbo.

"What do you want?" Evbo said, his voice firm, but his fear remained evident.

"Evbo," The man said gruffly.

Although the man had uttered his name, Evbo couldn't pull his eyes away from Seawatt. His eyes were tearful, his face displaying a cry for help.

"Bold of you to show your face here," The man continued.

"What?" Evbo said.

"To pretend to be one of us," The man said, "What is this? A joke to you?"

The man had Evbo's full attention now.

He couldn't know, could he?

"Pretend?" Seawatt mumbled.

"He's the parkour God," The man said with disgust.

Hearing those words instantly took Evbo's breath away. They physically hurt him, as if the man had slapped him around the face and punched him in the chest.

The air grew heavy, suffocating.

Evbo glanced at Seawatt, whose eyes had widened, unsure how to comprehend what had been revealed.

"We prayed to you. The whole village prayed to you. What did you do? Nothing. You watched as we suffered, turning your back on us when we needed you the most. How dare you show up and laugh here,"

Before Evbo could respond, the man lunged at him.

Seawatt shouted his name, but it was too late.

The man retrieved a sharpened crystal shard, stabbing it directly into Evbo's chest.

The force was the first thing that Evbo felt. He fell immediately onto his back, knocking the wind out of him. The following experience was the pain that dispersed throughout his body. He was paralysed as his body spasmed in agony. Then, it was the feeling of the foreign object inside him- the shard's sharpness and chunkiness. The feel of the shard was quickly replaced with the warmth of blood that pooled onto his chest, spewing with every exhale. The blood collected on his chest before the material absorbed it, spreading and staining the remainder of his hoodie with blood.

The man followed Evbo's body as it fell, straddling his body.

"This is for every time you ignored me!"

The man lifted his blood-splattered arm, pulling the shard out of Evbo's body.

Evbo's body followed the shard's movement, inhaling with a whimper as the shard splintered and left his body. The man immediately stabbed the shard back into Evbo's chest, left of the previous stab wound.

Evbo cried out in pain, his body shaking, tears streaming down his face.

"You never listened! You never cared about us!" The man shouted.

Evbo's ears rang, but he could still decipher Seawatt's screams - forced to watch helplessly.

"Stop, please!" Evbo gasped as the man pulled the shard from his chest once again.

"Not until you've learnt your lesson!" The man said, "This doesn't even equal the pain you've put us through,"

"STOP IT!" Seawatt cried through sobs, "I love him!"

"He's pathetic," The man said to Seawatt, lifting his arm.

Evbo weakly reached up, attempting to stop him, but it quickly fell limp beside his convulsing body.

"Seawatt," Evbo coughed, blood catching in his throat, blotting his lips.

The shard was thrust into his chest before he could finish saying Seawatt's name, causing blood to spit from his mouth with momentum.

"I really thought the God would be better than this," The man said, twisting the shard deeper inside Evbo's trembling form.

"Please," Evbo quietly begged.

"I'm not showing you mercy," The man snorted, "I know you're immortal. I will stab you over and over until-"

The man was unable to finish his remark.

Seawatt had manoeuvred his way behind him. Through blurred vision, Seawatt used his tied hands, knocking the man's head with as much force as he possessed.

The man toppled from Evbo's body, his legs remaining around Evbo.

Seawatt gasped as the man and Evbo fell through the gap between the blocks, falling into the void.

Silence.

The only thing that disturbed the silence was Seawatt's sobs and his heartbeat pounding in his ears. He stared at the blood that stained the grass block, unable to catch his breath.

"Evbo," Seawatt muttered, shakily, "Evbo."

Chapter Text

Seawatt could not pull himself away from the last spot he had seen Evbo.

All that remained was Evbo's blood splattered on the trampled grass.

It was odd, but he couldn't drag himself away from the scene of the crime.

Was it because of the shock? The quickeness of the event? The brutality of what had happened? Was it that the blood before him was the last thing in his life that belonged to Evbo? Would it be the last thing he'd ever see of him?

Was it the guilt that consumed him? He was the reason that Evbo fell into the void. What if he had killed him or doomed him to eternity in whatever was below this level? What if Evbo thought that he had intended for this to happen? What if Evbo thought he was on the same team as the man? He hadn't acted, after all.

Was it the lingering shadows of what had happened constantly replaying before him? The sound of the shard entering Evbo's body followed by a bone-chilling scream. Seawatt's body froze whenever it replayed before him, mimicking how he felt. It was as if his body was mocking him for not acting when he should have.

Was he frozen because he could not comprehend what the man had said? Evbo, the man he had nursed, the man he had kissed, was the Parkour God. It couldn't be true, could it?

Did everything happen, or was it simply a hallucination? It sure felt like it.

He had eventually pulled himself free from the vines that had restrained him, but he wasn't free. He felt as trapped as when the vines had held him back.

He couldn't move.

He couldn't even cry despite the pain that had dominated his form.

He was forced to remain still, staring helplessly into the void - reliving the last flash of Evbo.

*

Evbo flailed his arms as he fell, blood continuing to leave his body with the shard still stuck in his chest.

It felt never-ending.

He shut his eyes.

Eventually, everything grew still.

Everything had stopped.

There was no sound or sensation of the wind. There was no pain.

He opened his eyes.

Below him was Parkour Civilization. He had returned to the heavens, above the civilization, above Seawatt. He was God Evbo again.

Evbo scrambled to his feet. He felt strange. He no longer felt weary, hungry or in pain. Evbo reached for the shard in his chest, placing his hand around it. It felt as if it wasn't even there. Slowly, he began to wriggle the shard from his chest, expecting him to be overcome with pain, but he exhaled, remembering that he could no longer feel pain. He quickly pulled it from his chest, throwing it onto the ground. He reached for the holes in his chest, but as his fingers touched his hoodie, his chest felt normal. Immediately, he pulled up his hoodie, examining his chest.

There were no stab wounds or blood.

Everything appeared normal.

As he let his hoodie fall back down his torso, he realised that his hoodie, too, was clean and no longer stained.

Although there were no longer any lasting physical signs of his time as a human, signs still remained. His heart ached for Seawatt. The fear on his face flashed in his head. Evbo reached for his lips. He could still feel the softness of Seawatt's kiss.

Immediately, Evbo shook off the thought. He could reunite with him. There had to be some way. He was the Parkour God, after all.

He might not be able to answer his own prayers, but he could answer those of the civilization.

He left his perch in the heavens before he floated over the civilization, searching for Seawatt. It didn't take Evbo long to find him. His prayers were loud enough to notify Evbo of his presence from the other side of the civilization.

He hadn't moved.

Evbo's heart broke in two seeing Seawatt's blank expression. He was in so much pain it was too much for his body to comprehend.

Seawatt's prayers echoed louder now that Evbo was near him.

"Come back, Evbo, please. Please!"

Evbo had heard so many prayers. He had experienced so much pain from people, but hearing Seawatt made him feel so different.

"Please, Evbo!"

Although Seawatt's mouth didn't move, his mind screamed, desperate to release his emotion.

All he had to do was answer his prayer.

Immediately, Evbo took a deep breath before he placed his hand on Seawatt's shoulder. Seawatt's pleas raced through Evbo's head, a dizzy feeling overwhelming him.

He hadn't answered a prayer in ages.

He pursued the prayer, shutting his eyes tightly, allowing Seawatt's wish to circle in his mind.

Suddenly, Evbo felt himself float upwards.

It was working.

As Evbo gained his balance, he opened his eyes.

Before him were two command blocks. He positioned himself on the first block, recalling Seawatt's prayer in his head, before he jumped.

Once his feet landed on the other block, he stood still.

He still felt the same.

Had it done it right?

Evbo jumped from the command blocks before he floated back down to the civilization. He found Seawatt, who remained in the same place. Seawatt still had the same expression, but Evbo could no longer hear his prayers.

As Evbo stood beside Seawatt, he thought about placing his hand on his shoulder again and retrying.

He wouldn't give up until he reunited with Seawatt.

As Evbo reached out, Seawatt turned around, startling Evbo.

"Evbo?" Seawatt said, his eyes widening.

Evbo looked behind him. Seawatt couldn't see him, right? He was in his God form.

"Is that really you?" Seawatt said.

The emotion that Seawatt had trapped inside of him immediately escaped.

"Evbo," Seawatt sobbed, his eyes streaming with tears. He opened his arms, approaching Evbo.

Seawatt's arms wrapped around him tightly.

Evbo stumbled back slightly, surprised at the contact.

"You can see me?" Evbo muttered.

Evbo's eyes welled up with tears as he clutched Seawatt's tightly back.

He had done it.

They stood on one block, holding each other tightly.

"You can see me."
