Post-S03E07 Fresh Blood.
Sam and Dean lay on the same bed in their latest motel room — green carpet and bedlinen matching the mold in the corners perfectly — watching TV and drinking beer. The last two days had left Dean feeling exposed. Sam had seen right through him and pulled his terror out from underneath the layers he buried it under and into the light, holding it up in front of him so blatantly that Dean couldn’t lie about it any longer.
