Chapter 1: A normal start to a special day
Chapter Text
Sunny's perspecitve
“Sunny! Wake up. Did you turn off your alarm again?” I heard Mari say.
I slowly wake up to my older sister at my bedside. “What time is it?”
“It’s 7:00. You got to get ready for school,” Mari told me.
When I got out of bed, I looked down and saw my alarm on the floor. I must have knocked it off the dresser.
I left Mari and me’s room and went to the bathroom to get washed up and ready for the day. While I was doing that, I checked my phone and saw it was February 14th, Valentine’s Day. I then checked the group chat, which included my closest friends.
Aubrey was online, talking about finally confessing her feelings toward Kim since it was Valentine’s Day. Basil was also online, telling her that she could do it. I also checked if Kel was online, and he, unfortunately, wasn’t.
I got out of the bathroom, and came downstairs, and quickly made some cereal for breakfast.
Mari asked me, “So, Sunny, do you have anything special planned for Valentine’s Day?”
“Um, no. Not really,” I replied.
“Oh really? Nothing involving Kel?” Mari suddenly said. I looked up to her, and she was giving her classic and annoyingly smug smirk at me.
I have a crush on Kel. It’s been a year since I realized that was the case; it was all because of his basketball game back in the seventh grade. It was a really close game, and we were all watching, Hero, Basil, Aubrey, Mari and me. I was so stressed for him during the game that I nearly fainted. I was so happy when Kel won the game, I think I was most excited then he was. When I was thinking over why I cared so much, I realized. Oh shit, I have been gay for my best friend this whole time. And the only ones who know this are Mari and Basil
I told Mari, “I’m not doing anything with Kel. Why do you always have to tease me about my crush on him?”
“It’s a sibling’s duty to tease their other sibling about their crush,” Mari explained.
“I didn’t tease you when you told me you liked Hero,” I replied.
“It only works for older siblings.”
“That’s unfair.”
“Yeah, yeah, but anyway, I really think today will be the perfect day to tell Kel how you feel.”
“I can’t. I know it won’t work. I know he will reject me.” I said dismissively.
“Oh, Sunny, you don’t know that for certain,” Mari said, trying to comfort me. It didn’t really work, though.
“Kel is popular; lots of people like him. He is likely crushing or dating that one girl in swim class. Cris, I think her name was? I don’t know.”
“Sunny, if I had that same mindset with Hero, we would never have been dating. You never know for certain how Kel feels about you; just give it a chance.”
After trying to decide what to say, I lied and said, “I will think about it.”
“Ok, good,” Mari said while smiling at me.
In truth, I wasn’t going to do it, I already knew Kel was out my league. Mari and Hero are perfect for each other because they are perfect. Hero is top of his class and a perfect cook, and Mari isn’t too far behind and is an incredible piano player. But Kel and I won’t work. Kel is a perfect friend, always smiling and helping others and being a ray of pure sunshine. I’m just some nobody that daydreams in class and can’t play a sport to save my life. The only thing that is remarkable about me is that I am an above-average artist and being related to Mari.
Kel is straight and would never like me
Kel’s perspective:
I’m gay as hell and fucking love Sunny!

Chapter Text
Kel’s perspective:
I’m gay as hell and fucking love Sunny! Is what I was thinking to myself at that moment.
I’m pretty sure I realized my crush on him when Aubrey first came out as a lesbian to me. I didn’t know what it really meant, and once she explained what LGBTQ+ means and such, I realized that I was Bi myself, and I liked Sunny. Before then, I really did think it was normal for people to feel this way about their friends.
I have wanted to tell him for a month now, and today, I promised myself I would do so, but I forgot one thing. HOW WAS I GOING TO CONFESS TO HIM?!
I knew it had to be a magnificent confession, I couldn’t half ass in anyway, especially for someone like Sunny. I had never confessed to anyone before, so I had no idea what to do!
“Hey, Kel, is everything okay? You look like you're stressed,” Hero said to me.
“Oh, um, don’t worry, everything is just fine.” I so obviously lied.
Hero saw right through me like a window. “Kel, what’s wrong? Does it have to do with Valentine’s Day?”
“Um, okay, yeah, I've been wanting to confess to someone, but I have no idea how,” I explained.
“Aww, my little brother finally has a crush,” Hero teased.
“I regret ever telling you this,s” I spoke.
“Okay, sorry, but you don’t have to be nervous, Kel. Your crush is at your school, right? Just go up to them and ask her out. That’s how Mari asked me out.”
“I know, but I want this to be special for him.” I accidently let slip.
“Oh, it’s guy?” Hero asked.
“Oh, um, yeah, it is. Is that OK?” I said, a bit worried.
Despite most people in Faraway at least being fine with LGBTQ people and such. There is still Homophobia, of course. Makes sense with how religious this community is. Hero and I’s Parents, especially Mom, aren’t accepting of gay people. I never really know what Hero thinks of them, so I’m worried he might be homophob-
“That’s fine, Kel. Love who you love. Now, who is the lucky guy?”
Well, I didn’t expect him to say that so fast. I smiled while saying, “Thanks. And the guy is Sunny.”
“Oh, ok, nice. I probably should have guessed you liked him.” Hero said.
“Wait a minute. If you’re dating Mari and I want to date Sunny, isn’t that incest?”
“That’s not how it works, Kel.” Hero bluntly said.
“I was just making sure. But anyways, how do I confess it in the most special, amazing way possible?” I replied.
“Well, for one thing, knowing Sunny, it shouldn’t be a big public confession. That might freak him out and stuff,” Hero said while looking down for a second. When he looked up, he saw me writing down what he said. “Are you seriously taking notes?” Hero asked.
“I’m making sure I don’t forget,” I replied.
“If only you were like this for your classes. But anyway, just keep it simple. Tell him you want to meet him after school, maybe bring chocolates, and just confess. And be clear. Don’t make Sunny think it’s nothing less than a real confession.”
“Ok, I got everything down. But one thing though, where should I get chocolates?”
“They will probably be selling chocolates at school. You can get some there. Now, let’s get to school.”
I looked at the time, and we had to get the bus soon. “Oh yeah, you're right.”
We left the house. It was a surprisingly warm day. I looked over at the Suzuki household and saw that the lights were off. Sunny and Mari must have driven to school (Mari has a license and car.; their parents are pretty rich).
As we were walking, an idea popped in my head. “Should I write a letter for Sunny?” I ask Hero
“I mean, sure, if you want a more simple way to get your feelings out without backing out of it at the last second.”
“Hey, I wouldn’t back out of confessing.”
“You say that now, but you would never truly know until you are doing it. It’s just in case.”
Before I could say anything else, we saw someone coming down the street, her pink hair blowing in the wind. It was Aubrey.
“Hey, Kel. Hey, Hero.” She said while casually approaching us.
“Hey Aubrey, how’s are you feeling?” I asked.
“I’m fine, maybe a bit nervous,” Aubrey responded. ”
“Oh, about what?”
Aubrey said, " Well, I’m planning on telling Kim I like her since it’s Valentine’s Day and stuff.”
“Oh, that’s great, Aubrey. Um, how are you going to do it?”
“I’m going to slip a letter in her locker to ask her to meet me at lunch in the courtyard. Then I will confess and stuff.” Aubrey explained while twirling her hair around her finger. She was clearly a bit nervous. But I decided not to tease her like usual since I knew that it would be hypocritical of me to do so.
“Ok, nice, good luck with that.” Hero told her.
We continued walking towards the bus stop and eventually made it there. One person was waiting at the bus stop. It was a certain blonde-haired boy. Basil!
“Hey, Basil!” I yelled, rushing over to him.
He looked a bit surprised at first but calmed down and said, “Oh, hey, Kel.” Basil then saw Hero and Aubrey approaching and gave them a small wave, “Hey, you two, um, happy Valentine’s Day.”
Aubrey came to Basil and gave him a fist bump. “Hey dude, so, um, I will actually tell her today. Don’t worry.”
Basil replied a bit teasingly, “Oh, that’s good, Aubrey. You've been talking about confessing to her for months now, and I'm getting sick of it.”
“I know, I know. I won’t back out, ok?”
Basil smiled and said, “You better ok, what the rest of you going to do today?
Hero said, “I’m planning to take Mari on the perfect date after school.”
“That sounds great, classic Hero. Now, Kel, what are you doing?” Basil asked.
I really didn’t know how to answer that question. Just half an hour ago, no one else knew I liked Sunny besides Hero.
Before I could say anything, Aubrey said, “Well, I know you are going to get swarmed by people confessing their love and crushes on you at school.”
I was a surprised at what Aubrey said, “Um, what, how would that happen?” As I said that, a girl walked by us, brushing pass me.
“Kel, you are one of the popular kids at school. I can’t go a day without hearing someone mention how handsome you are and if you are single.” Aubrey said while doing a gagging motion.
I was a bit embarrassed to hear that. I didn’t realize I was that popular around school. “Oh, I didn’t know people liked me so much, but I doubt that many people would be crushing on me.”
“You do know that girl that just walked by us right now slipped a letter in your hand?” Aubrey said.
I looked at my hand, and there was a love letter in it. I was shocked by it, and it fell out of my hands into a sewer grate.
Hero said. “I don’t think you can get that back.”
Basil added. “I feel bad for whoever wrote it.”
“Well, um, kind of moving on from that, what are you doing to about all the people that are going to confess to you?” Aubrey asked.
After a bit of thinking what to say without revealing my crush on Sunny like an idiot, I said, “Well, I already know who I like and who I will confess to today.”
“Oh really, who is it?” Basil asked.
“It’s a secret, ok?"
“Aw, really? Basil said.
“Ok, I will tell you if you tell me your crush.”
“Kel, you know I’m Aro Ace!”
“Yeah, so I don’t have to tell you,” I said.
I gave a small giggle, and before Basil could say anything else. Hero said, “Hey, I see the bus coming.”
We looked over and saw the school bus rolling up. Once the doors opened, we all got in and took the empty seats. I sat down next to Hero, and I pulled out a notebook from my backpack. I started to write out the note I was going to send to Sunny! It was going to be perfect, and by the end of the day, I was going to have the best boyfriend anyone could ask for! Nothing was going to go wrong!
Chapter 3: Loving letters
Summary:
Kel plans out how to give Sunny his love letter!
Chapter Text
Kel’s perspective:
Hero woke me up. I looked outside the window, and we were at school. I slipped the note I made for Sunny into my pocket and got off the bus.
The atmosphere at school was noticeably different on Valentine’s Day. Many people carried boxes of chocolates into school, along with holding letters. I also saw a student selling chocolates right outside the school; I'm not sure that’s allowed.
Aubrey said. “Wow, hopeless romantics are there, this was definitely way less extreme back in middle school.”
Aubrey almost immediately ate her words when someone approached her and said, “Hey, Aubrey, how’s it going?” It was Kim.
Aubrey's face became almost as pink as her hair. She stuttered while saying. “Oh, hey, um, Kim, I’m doing just fine. How about you?”
“Well, I’m actually good for once, because I’m going to be getting a lot of chocolate since it’s Valentine’s Day,” Kim explained.
Aubrey was clearly nervous, more nervous than she usually was around Kim. Basil decided to help her out. He said, “Hey, Kim?”
“What is it, Flower boy?” Kim jokingly teased.
“Want me to buy you some chocolate?” He asked,
“Oh, really? Sure.”
Kim turned around and started walking towards the person selling chocolates nearby. Basil quickly whispered to Aubrey, “Hey, go inside the school and slip the note into Kim’s locker. OK?”
Aubrey nodded and said, “Ok, thanks, Basil.” And then she went off into school.
I said to Hero, “Wait, maybe I should do that with my note, too.”
“Um, ok, Kel, just be careful,” Hero replied.
I went into the school. After trying to remember where Sunny’s locker is, I got to the hallway and-. OH NO, SUNNY AND MARI ARE RIGHT THERE!
I hid behind the corner, peeked out from the side, and waited for them to leave. I was mainly watching Sunny because he looked adorable as ever. At one moment, though, I looked over at Mari for a second, and she was looking directly at me. She smirked at me before turning away and continuing to talk with Sunny like I wasn’t there. I was very confused yet glad she decided not to call me out.
After long enough, they left. I snuck towards Sunny’s locker and put my note into it, by the way. What was in the note was pretty much telling Sunny he had a secret admirer, and that I wanted to meet him after school.
I turned around and made sure no one was there. I then started to sneak off, but right before I could leave the hall, an all-too-familiar voice said, “Kel, what did you put in Sunny's locker ?”
I didn’t have to turn around to see it was Mari. When I looked behind me, she was giving an incredibly smug smirk.
“It was just a note. I needed to tell Sunny something later. That’s all.” I spoke.
“That’s unlike you, Kel. Normally, you would go up and tell Sunny, unless it’s something secret, like a love confession or something.” Mari said. She completely read me like an open diary.
I sighed and slowly nodded. “Um, yeah, are you ok with me wanting to date your brother?”
“Don’t worry; I’m fine with it,” Mari said. She then said under her breath, " Sunny is more than okay with it, too.”
“What did you say again, Mari?” I asked.
“Oh, it’s nothing. The bell is going to ring soon, so see you later.” Mari said before leaving. That whole interaction was confusing for me.
Sunny’s perspective.
The Bell first period rung, and I went into my science class once the teacher opened the door. I waited as everyone entered the class; I then saw him waving at me.
“Hey Sunny, um, how’s it going?” I heard Kel say, coming over to my table. I immediately felt a blush creep up on my cheeks, but tried to hide it. “Um, I’m just fine, maybe a bit tired.”
I was looking at Kel. I noticed he was acting a bit more nervous than usual. All that did was confirm my suspicions even more. He was likely nervous about confessing to someone since it was Valentine’s Day. I'm guessing he might have seen Cris before walking in here.
“Um, earth to Sunny,” Kel said. I snapped out of my thinking at that point.
“Oh, sorry, I was just thinking about something,” I said.
“You always daydream about something,” Kel said, and I might have heard him say under his breath, “It’s always cute.”
“Um, what did you say?” I asked Kel.
Kel started blushing and spoke. “Oh, it’s nothing. I have to get to my seat now. Talk to you later, Sunny.”
Kel then went to his seat, and I was pretty confused. Did I really hear him call me cute? Who am I kidding? Of course, he didn’t. I must have misheard what I said; I always make up stuff inside my head. Kel doesn’t find me cute; it's just another silly dream of mine.
…
The bell rang, and class was over. I saw Kel leave in a hurry, which makes sense because his next class is at the other end of the school. I left class and went to my locker so I could get everything I needed for my next class. When I got there, I, of course, saw Mari. She had a locker next to mine.
Once Mari saw me, she said, “Hey, Sunny. How’s everything going?
“Everything is just fine; I just want this day to end already,” I said.
“Oh? And why is that?” Mari asked.
“So, you will stop teasing me about Kel.”
“You know I won’t stop doing that.” Mari smugly said.
I groaned and opened my locker, only to see a letter fly out of it and slowly float down to my feet. I picked it up and realized it was a love letter.
“It looks like you have a secret admirer,” Mari teased.
“It could just be a regular letter,” I said. There is no way anyone would love me.
I opened the letter and started reading the content inside. “Dear Sunny, I’m a boy who has been in love with you for a while. I gathered up the courge to tell you my feelings, after school, meet me behind the main building. Signed by your secret admiror.”
Oh shit, it is a love letter. I started blushing at the sight of it. Mari giggled and asked. “So, who do you think wrote the letter?”
“Um, I don’t know, it has to be a prank or something. No way someone would give me a love letter, maybe Kim or one of Aubrey’s friends wrote it as a prank!”
“It isn’t a prank, it’s real, Sunny.”
“How would you know?” I asked.
“Oh, um, I just know, ok, trust me.”
“Ok, I will believe this, but I doubt I will return their feelings. I will just let them know I don’t feel the same way.”
I heard Mari giggle again. “What is it now?” I asked.
“Oh nothing, I got to go now Sunny, see you later?”
Mari left soon after. As I held the letter in my hand, I thought to myself, "What if Kel wrote this?" Then I remembered I was delusional. I soon shoved the letter into my pocket.
Chapter 4: Hope, soon fall into despair.
Chapter Text
Sunny’s perspective.
I made it to my second class which happened to be my worst, Gym.
We had to do multiple laps around the gym and just after a few I was already tired out. I was sitting on the bleachers resting when Basil came over to me.
“Hey Sunny, how are you doing?” he asked, sitting down next to me.
“Um I’m fine but something happened.”
“Oh, what is it?”
“Someone put a love letter in my locker.”
Basil’s eyes brightened with excitement, “Oh that’s great Sunny! Do you know who it is?”
“Um no, and I think I will just reject them. Since, you know I like Kel of course.” I spoke.
“Oh, but, what if it is Kel?” Basil brought up.
I blushed at the idea of that but said, “that would never happen.”
“Oh, come on, why not.”
“If Kel somehow ever liked me. He would just and confess to me. You know how up-front he is about everything.”
“You never know that he could be a lot shyer about his crushes.”
“Kel, being shy? That’s combination of words I thought I would never hear.”
“Well, he did say he was confessing to someone when we were all waiting at the bus stop.”
“Really? Did he mention anything about giving them a letter?”
“Well, um, no but I wouldn’t be surprised if he took the idea the from Aubrey since she was planning on doing the same thing with Kim.”
After Basil said that the coach blew the whistle and we had to go.
“Oh, I guess we’re going back to the locker room, but still, Sunny, just think about it,” Basil said before getting up.
As we entered the locker room and changed, as I changed, I couldn’t stop thinking about what Basil told me. It gave me hope, even if a little, the letter was really from Kel.
Kel’s perspective
It was third period time for me, I was hurrying over to science class so I wouldn’t end up late again when I ended up bumping right into someone and they fell right to the floor.
When I got a good look at them, I realized it was Cris!
“Oh, hey Cris, sorry for bumping into you.” I reached out and grabbed her hand to pull her up.
Cris moved her hair out of face and looked a bit surprised seeing me “Oh, hey Kel, um, how’s it going?”
“Oh, everything is fine,” I spoke. I looked down and saw that Cris dropped a nice bouquet of a few roses.
I picked up the flowers and gave them to Cris. “Sorry I made you drop these,” I said.
She started blushing in reaction to me giving her the flowers. She then said, Kel, wait, those flowers are for you.”
I was trying to process what she meant by that. “Wait, is this a confession?” I asked.
She slowly nodded, “Um, yeah, I guess it is, so, um, would you go out with me Kel?”
Oh no, I guess Aubrey really was right. I scratched the back of my head for second, trying to come up with what to say. I eventually told Cris. “Um, I’m really flattered Cris. But I like someone else. Sorry.”
Cris looked disappointed, she down for second but quickly put on a fake smile “Oh, don’t worry, I understand.”
I wished I could have said more to her but I had to rush to my class not to be late, so I quickly waved goodbye and left. I’m just hoping no one else saw what happened over there.
…
It's been a few hours since that event with Cris and now it’s lunchtime! After waiting in line and grabbing my food, I looked around and found Basil and Hero at a table.
I came over and quickly sat down. “Hey guys, how’s it going?”
“Everything is fine, Kel,” Hero said.
Not long after, Mari and Sunny came by our table “Hey guys.” I said.
Mari waved at me, while Sunny strangely looked away. When they sat down, I quickly asked. “Hey Sunny, you good?”
Sunny just nodded and started eating, I knew Sunny was pretty introverted, but something seemed wrong. I just hoped my crush was ok.
Sunny’s perspective:
I was fool to think Kel would like me, I can’t believe Basil convinced me just for a little while. But then, during passing periods, I saw Kel hand Cris a small bouquet, that’s what brought me back down to the crushing reality.
It was so obvious he liked her, and even if he got rejected, I know better than to swoop in and shoot my non-existent shot at Kel. It was hopeless, so I was now in despair.
After a few more minutes, we eventually Aubrey come by with Kim, she was holding a box of chocolates in one hand and holding Kim’s hand in the other. I could probably guess what happened.
When they sat down, Aubrey said “Hey guys, you will never guess what happened!”
“Um, You and Kim are dating now?” Hero asked.
“Well yes but there is more.”
Basil said, “let me guess, you two wound up confessing to each other at the same time when you met up.”
Aubrey had a look of confused before saying, “Wait how did you guess that?”
Kim said, “That’s cheating, you planned everything out.”
“Wait, how?” Aubrey said.
“Um yeah, back during this morning, when Basil bought me these chocolates, I told him my feelings for you. And he helped me confess to you.” Kim explained.
“Yeah, I was pretty much a wingman for both of you.” Basil while scratching the back of his head.
During this whole time, I was pretty out of it, barely paying attention to what they were talking about. I only really snapped back to reality when Mari tapped on my shoulder and whispered. “Sunny, be honest, is everything ok?
“I’m ok, I swear,” I said. Just wanting to go home at that point.
I heard Aubrey ask Kel, “So, Kel, has anyone tried to shoot there shot at you yet?”
Kel lied and said, “Well, no, besides from what happened that morning, no one has tried to ask me out.” He was likely too nervous to reveal his confession to Cris yet. Well, I guess his secret is safe with me.
“I call bullshit on that, but I will let it slide, for now,” Aubrey said.
That’s when Kim turned to me and said, “So, Sunny, has anything interesting happened to you for Valentines Day? Did you confess to a crush or something?”
Oh great. Of course, I have to answer this. “No, nothing interesting.” I don’t want to think about this day more then I’m already am. To think about the crush I will just hopelessly pine for. Stuck in the friendzone he didn’t even realize he put me in.
“I will never confess to him, because I know I don’t have a chance with Kel.”
For the next few seconds all I heard was silence, what happened? Why did the whole table go quiet? I looked at everyone’s faces that were surprised or shocked in their way. Well except for Mari.
It didn’t click for me what happened until Kel asked, “Sunny? Is that true? You really like me?”
I said it out loud…

Kel’s Perspective
I slowly processed just what I heard coming from Sunny’s mouth. Did he really just say that? Out of the blue, while I’m right here?
“Sunny? Is that true? You like me?” I asked.
I still couldn't believe it. I saw Sunny in shock, too. He definitely didn’t mean to say that out loud. In seconds, he bolted from the lunch table.
“Wait, Sunny, come back,” Mari called out to Sunny, but he was already gone.
“What the hell was that?’ Kim said.
“Ok, I was not expecting that,” Aubrey said. I got up from the lunch table, still very much shocked by the fact that my crush shared mutual feelings for me.
I heard Mari say, “I didn’t expect him just to blurt it out like that.”
“I think he surprised himself too,” Basil said.
“Wait, you guys knew he liked me?” I asked. Both Basil and Mari nodded,
Basil asked, “So, Kel, um, do you like Sunny back?”
I nodded before saying, “Um, yes, I do.”
“Then go after him, let him know you feel the same way,” Mari said.
I nodded and proceeded to leave the lunchroom. I attempted to search for Sunny throughout school, but it was pretty difficult to do so. I really thought I wasn’t going to find him before the bell rang for fourth period. That’s when I thought of a certain area… Behind the school building!
I made my way behind the school, and Sunny was right there. Sitting down and crying. I took a deep breath and approached Sunny.
Sunny’s perspective.
I am such a goddamn idiot! Of course, I just had to blurt out my feelings about Kel while he was sitting right next to me! I’m surprised I didn’t grab the nearest knife on that table and stab myself.
I barely even paid attention to the footsteps I heard coming up to me, when they stopped right in front of me, I looked up, and oh god, of course it was Kel. I guess I just had to accept my fate. I wiped the tears from my face and turned to Kel.
“Hey there, Sunny, I’m glad I was able to find you before lunch ended.” Kel slowly said. He then sat down next to me.
It took me a while to say anything back; the silence was deafening, but I eventually said, “I’m, I’m sorry.”
“Sorry for what?” Kel asked.
I looked at Kel, confused. “The confession, of course! I’m sorry for that.”
“You don’t have to apologize for that, you didn’t even do anything,” Kel said.
“What?” I said. “I’m glad you did, actually, because…” Kel paused for a moment, but it felt like it lasted forever. “I… like you too. More than a friend.”
Kel looked at me with a smile on his face, and he was also blushing hard. After fully processing what he said, I replied, “Kel, you don’t have to lie to me to make me feel better.”
I couldn’t, just couldn’t believe Kel could like me. This has to be a pity. I know Kel has issues with putting others before himself and not caring enough about how he feels. I wasn’t going to let him lie to himself like that just for my sake. “Look, Kel, I will be fine, I think. I already know you don’t feel the same way about me.”
Kel looked shocked for a moment, then he put his hands on my shoulder and yelled in my face, “SUNNY! I’m not lying, I’m actually in love with you!” He looked down for a second and saw that love letter in my pocket. “Didn’t you find that letter in your locker?”
I slowly nodded, then said while blushing from how close he was to me. “Um yeah, but what does have to do with anything?”
“I’m the one who wrote it!” He said, Kel’s words rung in my ears, I tried to think of something to refute what he said, but I couldn’t. How else would Kel even know about the letter? That could only mean one thing...
“You are telling the truth?”
“Yes, I am! Sunny, you are the first friend I had. You have always been by my side. You may not express it often, but you care about me, and I care about you. I have been in love with you for so long, I didn’t even realize it myself at first, so please, Sunny, believe me.”
I listened to him, and I finally believed him. I felt tears running down my face again, and I cried right into Kel’s shoulder, “I’m sorry. I’m sorry for not believing in you!”
Kel gently rubbed my back, softly soothing me. “it’s fine, Sunny, don’t worry,"
Kel wrapped his arms around me, hugging me, and we stayed like that for a while. When I finished crying, I pulled back the hug. “Thank you, Kel.” That was all I could say.
At that point, the bell rang, lunch was over, and we had to head to 5th period. “Hey, Sunny,” I looked up at Kel. “After school, do you want to go on a date to Gino’s?” Kel said while blushing.
“I, I would love that,” I said. Kel gave me another bright smile that made my heart do backflips, it made me want to kiss him at that moment, and… OH, I am!
I grabbed his face and kissed his lips without thinking. It felt like heaven; I really couldn’t describe it. When I pulled back. Kel looked surprised, and his face was redder than a tomato. It was adorable. “Sorry, I couldn’t control myself,” I said.
Kel laughed it off and said, “Don’t worry, I don’t mind, especially when it's from my boyfriend. Anyways, your next class is close to mine, right?”
“Yeah, I’m sure it is.”
“Let’s walk there together!” Kel said while reaching out for my hand. I grabbed it, and our fingers were intertwined, just like how we are now. We then walked back into the school, closer than ever.
