Chapter Text
“These uniforms are the ugliest things I have ever seen.” Akutagawa muttered as he and the Weretiger followed some Iida kid to the 1A classroom. They had been rudely awakened and the glasses freak had forced them into this hideous attire. Even the Weretigers old clothing looked better. The colour combo was horrendous, grey, red and green?? Who even made this? Were they colourblind? Atsushi beside him, not wanting to seem rude, subtly nodded in agreement, the uniform was pretty ugly.
Hearing this, Iida snapped his head back, glasses skewed for some reason. The navy-haired boy fixed his glasses and cleared his throat, then proceeded to sing holy glazes about the school’s etiquette and how the uniforms are a symbolisation of some stupid thing.
“Nah, I think it’s just ugly.” A familiar voice sounded in front of them. Iida came to a stop as well. Ahead was Dazai, whose uniform clashed with his hair and bandages like a losing war. Chuuya popped his head out the huge classroom door and mumbled his agreements. He didn’t look horrible but orange wasn’t the best colour.
Akutagawa perked up at the sight of his mentors.
“Dazai-san! Chuuya-san!” Dazai grinned and looked back to Chuuya who handed him a 20 dollar bill. The newer generation of Soukoku looked at them in confusion. Chuuya sighed.
“The bastard bet me 20 bucks that my boy Ryuu would say his name before mine when greeting us.” He huffed out. Iida stood beside them, fuming and flushed with anger.
“Betting and gambling is extremely prohibited within school grounds, and is bad overall! I know you guys are not from here but please refrain from doing illegal things!” He rambled out, steam coming out of his ears. Another set of voices joined the crowd forming at the door.
“Sheesh this guy talks like we’re foreigners. We are Japanese too, y'know?” Ranpo said as he turned the corner, accompanied by Jun’ichirou and Naomi, all three led by Midoriya. Iida jumbled out apologies for making it seem like they were weird or different whilst Dazai snickered behind his hand.
“This guy’s worse than Kunikida.” Dazai laughed, to which he earned a nod from all ADA members present. Iida straightened up as Midoriya came to stand next to him.
“Who guided you guys here?” Midoriya asked, curiously looking around for one of his friends.
“Oh Aizawa did, in fact I think he’s waiting for you guys to come in.” Dazai snickered and he and Chuuya moved into the class, allowing the students to enter. Iida practically bolted in, apologising for getting distracted while Midoriya just quietly slid to his seat.
After a while, all of the students arrived, Koritsu High peers behind them. Aizawa told all of the kids from Yokohama to stand up front.
“Introduce yourselves and then we go out to the field.” He said before leaning back onto the blackboard, arms crossed. “Starting with you.” He added, jutting his head to Naomi at the end.
“Oh! My name is Naomi Tanizaki and this is my brother~ Jun’ichirou Tanizaki!!” She happily said, arms linking into her brother’s. Someone in the crowd asked her for her quirk. It took her a second to remember what that was before she said, without a single shift or change in her tone, “Oh I don’t have one.” Naomi smiled, before looking over to Jun’ichirou.
The silence in the class was loud. Students exchanged glances before Mineta spoke up.
“How is a Quirkless able to get into a hero school?” He called out. Midoriya and Bakugou shuffled nervously in their seats. Gin, who was next to Jun’ichirou, narrowed her eyes at the walking grape.
“Do we have an issue twerp?” She growled back, a knife pulled from nowhere as she pointed it at Mineta. “Why wouldn’t a Quirkless person be able to join a hero school?” Oblivious to the threat and also thinking Gin was a boy he replied with, “Well they’re weaker and are a de-evolved form of humans. Duh” Mineta rolled his eyes as if this was obvious. The class averted their gaze, as if they were silently agreeing.
“Are we being deadass?” Chuuya grunted, slamming his hand on the nearest table which unfortunately was Aoyama’s. The boy shivered in fear. “Gin could beat you to a pulp right now before anyone can even blink. D’you wanna test that theory, Grape Head?”
Aizawa stepped in before anyone else could talk.
“Enough, being quirkless does not limit your abilities to be a hero. No more comments, continue with the introductions.” He nodded his head to Jun’ichirou.
“Jun’ichirou Tanizaki, uh my quirk is Light Snow..” He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck
“Gin Akutagawa, quirkless.” She spat.
“Ichiyou Higuchi, [REDACTED].”
“Ranpo Edogawa, Super Deduction!”
“Ryuunosuke Akutagawa, Rashoumon.”
“Uhm, Atsushi Nakajima, Beast Beneath the Moonlight.”
“Michizou Tachihara, Midwinter Memento.”
“Hi I’m Kenji Miyazawa and my quirk is Undefeated by the Rain!”
“Uhm, I’m Kyouka Izumi and my quirk is Demon Snow..”
“My name is Dazai and my quirk is No Longer Human!!”
“Chuuya Nakahara, uh my quirk is Upon the Tainted Sorrow.”
Aizawa nodded and stood up from the blackboard.
“Wait, but we still don’t know what their quirks are? What type of names are those?” Kaminari called out, confused. Aizawa sighed.
“Which is why we are going to the field, get up everyone” He said, exhausted.

As everyone lined up, all in their hero costumes (or just in their normal PM/ADA attire…) Aizawa stated what they were going to do. A game, exactly the same as what they did with All Might, where one group protects a bomb, whilst the other tries to find and obtain it. The group will be Koritsu vs Yuuei.
However, only 5 rounds will be played today due the time shortage. Meaning two people from Koritsu will sit out, and 10 from Yuuei will sit out. The game is in pairs and this time, you are allowed to choose who you pair up with, but not who you go against.
The Teams are:
- A) Chuuya and Dazai
- B) Ryuunosuke and Atsushi
- C) Gin and Michizou
- D) Jun’ichirou and Ranpo
- E) Kenji and Kyouka
vs
- a) Ochako and Katsuki
- b) Tenya and Momo
- c) Izuku and Shoto
- d) Denki and Hanta
- e) Eijirou and Ashido

ROUND ONE: Izuku/Shoto VS Jun’ichirou/Ranpo
I SPUN A WHEEL FOR THIS I DIDN’T CHOOSE
Wow, this wheel must really hate Ability Users. Tanizaki thought to himself as he watched the wheel shift from group C to him and Ranpo. He couldn’t even express how cooked they were. But they got to choose whether to hide the bomb or capture it and Ranpo had chosen to hide it. Tanizaki muttered prayers under his breath as he walked into the building with an ecstatic Ranpo.
“Already Mr. Ultra Deduction,” he grumbled, “what’s the plan?”

Izuku could admit he felt kind of bad for both Ranpo and Tanizaki, both had non-offensive abilities and Shoto was just going to freeze the whole floor straight away anyways. As the five minutes of planning time ran out, Todoroki immediately went up and frosted the whole building, floors, walls and ceilings, which left him sweating and panting slightly from the large use of his quirk. Izuku waited for the sign that they had been captured and was slightly surprised when the timer continued. He shrugged and ran inside.
“Shoto, you go up! Start from the top and I’ll go in from down here!” He called out as he ran inside, turning around one last time to see Shoto use his ice to raise him to the top.
The first 7 minutes consisted of the two checking every door and floor, sprinting and running until they met each other in the middle with no sign of either boy. They decided to explore again, this time Midoriya searching up while Shoto searched down. The ice formed by Todoroki made the building freezing, which tired out Midoriya and ice had started to run up Shoto’s arm.
By minute 13, no sight of either was seen and the two decided to stop and replan.
“Where could they be?” Izuku groaned, hands running through his hair. Shoto shrugged, looking up at the enormous timer. One more minute to go.
“Do you remember what quirks they had?” Shoto asked. Midoriya shook his head, saying that he had only gotten to Dazai and that the brunette had taken up all of his time and questions.
“Maybe it’s snow related? Or ice? Since his quirk is called “Light Snow”? Maybe he can control ice. Or maybe he can use ice to hide himself!” Midoriya perked up. “One more minute, melt everything Shoto, I’ll go look for them.” He shouted as he was already rushing through the building, so sure his analysis was correct. The cold air calmed down and started to heat up as Shoto melted away the ice, flames gnawing at his skin. But before Midoriya could finish his inspection, the timer buzzed and they lost. Sighing, both boys stopped and went back to the spectator’s room where the camera for the Koritsu students showed a blank view of the top of the building.
“What are you guys looking at? Is the camera broken..” He trailed to silence as just then some sort of Kanji blanket lifted and Ranpo and Tanizaki were sat on top of the bomb, the latter heaving and huffing. When Bakugou saw the duo he laughed at them.
“HA! You got bested by some twink with an illusion quirk!” He snickered as if he could do better. Todoroki opened his mouth to retaliate but the clicking sound of the wheel was heard, ensnaring their attention. No one noticed Ranpo and Jun’ichirou quietly sneaking in and sitting down behind the crowd, shivering from the cold.

ROUND TWO: Eijirou/Ashido VS Gin/Michizou
I SPUN A WHEEL FOR THIS I DIDN’T CHOOSE
The two Koritsu students were given silicone knives and some red caution tape as they stood outside the building, this time as the “heroes” instead of the “villains”. Ironic, I know.
( Previous to this round, Gin asked Aizawa what the bomb was made of and he replied with metal, to which Gin was emotionless but Tachihara was whooping in joy. )
“Okay Gin, we’ll go together and when we find the bomb, you know what to do.” He said, smiling at her. She nodded silently in reply, testing the silicone blades. The audience watched confused at what this “plan” could possibly be since they didn’t even discuss anything, just sat and stared at the building plans, silently nodding and pointing at certain parts.
When the timer started, they bolted in through an open window, their footsteps silent as they quietly but extremely quickly navigated through the building and of course, found the bomb in the last floor and the furthest room. Gin peeked inside and only saw Ashido, meaning that Kirishima had run off somewhere to find them. Or maybe he was waiting for them to bolt in and catch them off guard. Gin picked up a large piece of metal she found and handed it to Tachihara. Using his ability, the ginger forced the metal to look like someone running past as he swung it out the window. Mina shot up when she saw the shadow and whispered to Eijirou, making him run out.
However, awaiting his leave was Gin who quickly wrapped his mouth first before capturing his hands and legs, tying him up with a small bow. She turned into the room where the bomb was and threw the knife straight at Mina, making her panic and shoot acid at it. Gin rushed in and distracted Mina, jumping and dodging her attacks. Unbeknownst to the alien, her bomb was silently sliding away from behind her and when she noticed it was too late.
“No!” Mina shouted, hands reaching out in an attempt to do something as Tachihara hugged the bomb with his arms and let out a loud laugh. The buzzer went off.
“HERO TEAM WINS.” Gin high-fived Tachihara as they walked out of the building and into the spectator’s room, greeted with whoops and proud smiles. Dazai rushed over and took Gin into a hug, swinging her around and calling her a sweet innocent girl.
“Girl?!” Mineta screeched, watching the display. Dazai stopped and turned to look at Mineta, his Demon Prodigy glare activated as he unsettled the boy into silence. Gin just smiled, feeling happy.
“Thank you Dazai-san..” She said, just as the team e walked in, sulking.
“Man, they’re too good!.” Mina moaned, fake-crying into Jirou’s arms, mumbling about super speed and really good reflexes for someone who was supposedly quirkless.
The wheel turned on again and everyone paused, transfixed and curious to see who was going next.

ROUND THREE: Denki/Hanta VS Ryuunosuke/Atsushi
I SPUN A WHEEL FOR THIS I DIDN’T CHOOSE
According to Bakugou, Midoriya AND Kiribro, they were cooked. Midoriya had said that both Nakajima and Akutagawa were excellent hand-to-hand combat fighters and both were competitive and aggressive. Meaning that Denki and Sero were absolutely done for. Not only did they not know any of their Quirks, Atsushi apparently had really good hearing and night vision. Like what? Talk about unfair.
Sero sighed in defeat as Denki slumped next to him, leaning back on the bomb as they waited for the 5 minute planning time to finish.
“Bro, we’re cooked.” Sero said, turning over to look at Denki who nodded silently.
“I know bro.”
<><><><><><><>
As soon as the buzzer went off, Denki yelped at the loud noise, which revealed their position to Atsushi and Akutagawa who seemed to teleport up to them. The two offered a mediocre fight at best with Denki getting caught 2 minutes in and Sero lasting a little longer due to his tape which stuck the duo together.
The boy had thought he was safe until some red and black flappy arm thing came out of Akutagawa’s coat and ate the tape, freeing them. This stronger Dark Shadow came at Sero and wrapped him up tight. Like I can’t fricking breath sort of tight. Then they touched the bomb and won. Because of course this embarrassing match finished in like 4 minutes.
The two Yuuei students sighed as whilst they were panting and struggling, the Koritsu duo barely broke a sweat, even going as far as talking about lunch as they walked away.
Most embarrassing loss ever recorded in the history of loss. God did he need a drag.
They entered the spectator’s room with their heads hung low and their prides crushed, and Denki went into soliloquy mode and began talking about how he contributed (to nothing) and how “despite the ill-fated results that this gruesome battle concocted, in the end the battle was frivolous and our honours are still intact”. Which is a fancy way to say that the battle isn’t a part of their grades and despite the loss, Denki still held onto his fractured pride.
The wheel went off again, with only two rounds left, and so far? Koritsu High was destroying their asses.

ROUND THREE: Tenya/Momo VS Kenji/Kyouka
I SPUN A WHEEL FOR THIS I DIDN’T CHOOSE
Yaoyarozu was slightly unsettled by having to fight kids, because while the rest were 16, these two especially were 14 year old prodigies who were allowed in. Iida had the same mindset, wary of fighting the kids he chose to be the villains so that these children wouldn’t have to go against the two of them in an unfair fight. The little girl, Kyouka was, like Gin, handed a silicone knife, as if she knew what to do with it.
“We’ll go full defense. I don’t want to hurt the young ones.” Iida said. Momo nodded in agreement, she couldn’t believe that the kids had to participate instead of Naomi and Higuchi, even during lessons the children always sat out or trained in a separate room, likely due to the violence in the actual training rooms. But this pairing ensured them a win for Yuuei (finally), so Yaoyarozu was at least a teensy tiny bit grateful.
Momo covered the open windows and cracks with wood, nailing them onto the walls and then covered the floors with sticky rat traps, save for the spot where she was standing. Iida helped her nail shut the door as he stood outside to defend. The 5 minutes buzzer went off and everything was quiet until a loud crash echoed downstairs, shaking the whole building. Yaoyarozu stumbled around as the building seemed to tilt.
“Yaoyarozu! The building’s collapsing!” Iida shouted, kicking down the door to let her out before sprinting downstairs, hoping to rescue the kids who were likely stuck inside. In his hurry, Iida ran straight past Kyouka who had cuddled herself into the corner and she ran the way he came and spotted a dizzy Yaoyarozu, stuck in her own traps, tumbling across the floor. Kyouka summoned Demon Snow who helped Momo out of the building gently and Kyouka quickly touched the Bomb before jumping out after her Ability. The round ended in 6 minutes, with Momo being sent to the Recovery girl to remove the sticky rat glue.
Iida felt thoroughly humiliated as he made it to the bottom and spotted Kenji who was ripping out parts of the building with his bare hands. The young boy waved to Iida, smiling as if he hadn’t just caused the building to crash. Lost for words, he and the blonde made their way up to the spectators room, soon followed by Kyouka who was piggy backing Momo, not wanting her Demon Snow to be seen up close.
“She’s really light..” Kyouka muttered to Kirishima who offered to take Momo up to Recovery Girl. The red head picked up Momo and looked at Kyouka in surprise, Yaomomo was double Kyouka’s height yet was considered “light”? He shook his head in amusement and left.
The last round was coming up, the final round of Dazai and Chuuya against Bakugou and Ochako. The students of Yuuei who weren’t a part of the Koritsu High program grinned, believing that maybe this round would be the one they win, but Midoriya and the others shook their heads. Bakugou was extremely wary of Chuuya, and actually afraid of what would happen if he beat up Bandaid Freak.
Uraraka couldn’t understand the looks, maybe Chuuya was strong but Dazai didn’t seem at all strong, rather he seemed frail and easily defeated. So, not knowing what she was in for, she clapped Bakugou on the back, smiling hopefully at them, confident in their abilities, while Bakugou cursed up a storm at the wheel and his horrible luck.
