Chapter Text
Kaveh's hair is down today.
Loose and wild and free.
Not in its usual braid and clips for the everyday outside.
Nor the messy bun reserved for housework, or late nights slumped over his desk, hands incessantly sketching, lips incessantly mumbling, stray graphite over every inch of skin.
Not even the occasional ponytail for when sweat beads all too quickly at the base of his scalp from the choking humidity of summer.
Just down.
Relaxed.
Unguarded.
He’s lounged over the arm of the divan, cradling his coffee, knees to his chest, looking at nowhere in particular.
He looks over.
“Hm?”
He smiles.
Beatific.
He puts his drink down onto the table and crawls over, clambers into Alhaitham’s lap.
Alhaitham puts his book down. He hasn’t been turning any pages for a while now.
“Hey,” Kaveh greets, a light pink dusting his cheeks.
Alhaitham tucks a strand behind his ear, lets his fingers trail along and settles them on his nape, threaded through those golden locks.
Kaveh is still looking at him. Still with a gentle smile upon his cheeks.
“Hmm.” Pretty.
Alhaitham leans in and leaves a peck on his nose, and an eyelid. His jaw. His temple.
Alhaitham's for the worship.
He is awarded with giggles, and arms looped around his neck.
“Haiyi.”
“Kaveh.”
“You’re smiling.”
“Am I not allowed to?”
“Of course not.”
He feels a thumb stroking the small divot in his cheek.
“I like it when you smile.”
“Hmm.”
He leans in again.
Lips meet lips.
Someone is humming.
Someone is sighing.
It’s warm.
It’s comfortable.
It’s home.
