Not the ABO you expect.

Chapter Text

No beta
" must you do all this troublesome procedure?? For all these decades you have been doing it the traditional way and now you refuse to do... this instead".

Johnathan shook his head" if i must consume to survive, then it must be doing the least damage possible my lord"

" by stealing from the blood bank and their ABO aglutinine dosifiers to " make sure" it is AB?" The count raised a dark eyebrow.

" Well excuse me my lord but it is less harmful than killing someone!" The younger man objected. He still was not comfortable with committing crimes for survival, but he had long lost against his hunger strike when he was freshly turned.

" but why only AB?,You sure are a picky eater my love."

" i am not a picky eater!" He scoffed" It's just that they are universal receptors"

Sometimes he slightly regretted getting him the latest advances of the human world, but he couldn't help it.

Most of his day the lawyer was alone in the castle, waiting until Dracula took him out.

Once he discovered Landsteiner's data, he pleaded for more related to it. Since he never asked for anything he could not say no to such a delightful bride.

After putting an end to his former brides, he decided to keep Jonathan as the one and only.
After all, he had been the only one not losing himself to Vampirism.

" i don't know why i spoil you this much" the count sighted reclining himself on his chair, his locks falling backwards. Worst of all? He knew he would even get the moon if it meant keeping his Johny happy.

Blue eyes met reddish obsidian, amused. Jonathan slowly approached him, sitting on his lap and nuzzling at his neck, smiling in his voice " because you like my company ".

Sly minx, he knew what he was doing.

" and so far so good i am your favourite bride" he purred.

" the one and only... i don't intend to take more" the count promised, gently kissing and nibbling his partner's stretched throat.

" better be... i don't share" The leaner man grumbled, slightly rattling the count's teeth. He had to give up Mina so he better not try anything funny.

Wherever the lady was she was probably a middle aged woman now, married to someone else, someone normal, with children that could have been his if his current partner hadn’t done as he wished, freezing him in time as the young lawyer that had enthusiastically visited him all those decades ago. In appearance only, as his old self was long gone, barely recognizable anymore.

Johnathan Harker had been another life taken on the Vampire’s chaos, barely recognizing himself anymore.
Still, he wanted to live, it always clung to him that primal instinct, and much to his self loathe, he grew to stop hating him, even longing for his company.

The tingle of his gums made the ebony haired man chuckle; It took a few decades for Johnny to warm up to him, to stop resenting him, to come as far to monopolize him " all right".

Notes:

Author's note
No wonder they called you the impaler horny leech.(excuse my dark humor sometimes it slips away, like a dog who found the door towards the street open: come back lil’ bastard!).
Well this popped up in my mind and here is the data. Sorry if it's slightly out of character i know little to 0 of Dracula but i totally wanted to put 2 vampires in this scenario so I chose this ship of an AU where Jonathan gets chosen lmao.

Apparently The events in Bram Stoker's Dracula primarily take place in the 1890s.

I tried being historically accurate but hey maybe i made a mistake so sorry if i did. Anyway google says this as a summary:
"
The first blood banks, as they are known today, emerged in the early 20th century, driven by the need to care for the wounded in World War I. While the concept of storing and preserving blood for transfusions already existed, it was during this war that the practice of storing blood for transfusions in times of need developed, marking the beginning of modern blood banks.
The Road to Blood Banking:
Early Transfusions:
The first blood transfusions were documented in the 17th century, but they were risky and uncommon practices.
Discovery of Blood Types:
In 1900, Karl Landsteiner discovered blood types, allowing for safer and more efficient transfusions.
Early Blood Banks:
In the 1910s, methods for preserving blood began to be developed, using anticoagulants such as sodium citrate, allowing blood to be stored for longer periods of time. World War I:
The need to care for the thousands of wounded in World War I prompted the creation of the first battlefield blood banks.
First Blood Bank:
In 1917, Captain Oswald Robertson, a U.S. Army doctor, established the first blood bank on the Western Front, storing blood for transfusions.
Advances During World War II:
During World War II, great advances were made in blood preservation and storage, such as the development of blood plasma preservation by Charles R. Drew.
Modern Blood Banks:
After World War II, blood banking as we know it today was established, with voluntary blood donation and preservation of blood components.".
