Okay… so, this may be more difficult than he thought. Look when Leo decided to make their own version of the Nexus hotel and coliseum thing, he thought it would be easier.
Leo and CJ looked around the area earlier to scout out which would be a good place for our “establishment” but he guesses there are a lot of abandoned warehouses and even more homeless people. Which he found confusing. Cause if there are so many homeless people why aren’t they going to the abandoned warehouses? Cause you know, they are ABANDONED? But guess they’re just stupid or unaware the buildings are abandoned.
But thing was, they didn’t fit what they were going for. Some were too close to the sea and some too far from the busy streets where people would see. Some were too small for the size of the hotel they plan to make, and there wasn’t any or enough area from an abandoned building that was next to each other to make enough space.
Leo honestly got tired of searching way to quickly to continue this method. It took an entire half of the day and he just decided to pick whatever spot looked nice-ish cause in his humble opinion, they all look dull as hell. The dull colors surrounding him with no sign of life remind him of that hell.
He picked a spot near a park that even had a lake. Plenty of people (at least considering the population of this weird dimension) to draw people in naturally with the view of the park and the atmosphere it provides.
After all some people just love to walk their pets there, couples love to get lovey-dovey, and some just enjoy the quietness it provides. By having the hotel near the park can draw in a variety of people in because it’s still nearby other shops and roads but also provides a calm area that’s allows a variety of activities to be taken place.
CJ also likes parks in general as well, he says they’re a nice place to nap. (He’s even seen him nap on a patch of tall grass, bathing in the sun like a cat. It was adorable!)
So! Now we have a baseline, yay! Makes me wonder why no one bought the abandoned apartment. Not his problem since it works in his favor!
Now to decided if he should flatten the land than build from scratch or reuse the already built frame… yeah, no. They’re building from scratch. The frame is currently not as sturdy as he’d like, especially for their plans. And it’s not as spacious as it needs to be for the floors for their Nexus.
“What’cha think about this place CJ?” Leo asks as he turns to him. They both are currently on the rooftop next to their chosen building. “I think this spot is great, I’m just wondering what we’re going to do about the less than ideal space it gives.” CJ said with a contemplative tone. “Psh, don’t worry I have a… I was going to plan but it’s too simple for that. Anywizzle I was thinking we wait for a “accident” to happen in one of the buildings nearby in order to reuse it.” Leo says with a sly smirk and mischievous glint in his eyes. CJ just blinks, either contemplating what he just said, wondering if he’s serious, or doesn’t even know what he implied, Leo doesn’t know. CJ speaks up after another moment “I guess we could do that but what kind of “accident” could happen?” Leo’s smirk widens at the indirect approval for his plan. “Hmm, well it would be a shame if, say, some faulty wiring was exposed to some nasty little hungry rodents that they just happen to cause a fire.” He draws out in false contemplative tone with playful and obvious false innocence. CJ smiles and gives a thumbs “okay, sounds good to me Leo.”
They decide to wait inside the building and gather whatever might be worth something that’s still inside. There’s some furniture that could be useful, some broken electronics, ripped wiring, batteries, some tools, and a broken car in the basement that served as a garbage…… what the hell? Who leaves this stuff here? He feels like Donnie would have aneurysm from the waste of perfectly (mostly) fine stuff. The batteries still have juice, the electronics and car aren’t that broken, the furniture is only faulty to the point that with enough force on it could be an annoyance, and the tools aren’t damaged in any way. So, what? But whatever, works in his favor, and it’s probably whatever logic this world works on.
They got the items outside of the building’s range, into a different abandoned building and were able to clean up the furniture a bit. Leo noticed how it was reaching sunset. He smirked to himself.
”So here’s the plan. I use my rad skills to find and destroy the power box to the…” oops, he forgot to think about which building. Uhh, “building on my left.” Nailed it. Plus the building on his left has a wider area anyways. “I will also destroy any electronics on the top that seem important for the building so a fire could actually start.”
”While you-“ he points to CJ with some dramatic flair. “Pull the fire alarm so any people inside will evacuate just as I destroy the power box.”
CJ smiles with a thumbs up and says “That sounds like a good plan Leo, but what about security? It would be bad if we were caught.”
Leo just smiles and says “Well, while we were searching I noticed something interesting about the level of technology in this world. Wanna guess what it is?”
CJ gains a look of contemplation with his finger on his chin and everything. CJ opens his eyes after a moment with a smile. “The technology is less advanced!”
”Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! That’s right! The technology is less accurate in video and pictures making me look more grainy and less likely to be identified! And since there is a lack of advancement there is a chance it’s more expensive as well, since it’s the best they could have at this time. Meaning there will be less cameras than back home because it’s expensive despite its less than ideal images.” Leo had a smug look on his face that only grew as he talked.
CJ being the absolute sweetheart he is claps while smiling at Leo. “I know, thank you, thank you.” CJ goes to take off his bag “No need to get the broach, well at least not right now. Can’t take any risks of someone linking my human disguise to any crimes.” CJ puts his bag up right on his back.
After a few minutes of waiting for the sun to fully set they jump to the rooftop of the building. CJ takes off his bag and armor which he than put in the bag. He hands the bag to Leo who takes it with a nod. CJ opens the rooftop door (again, what? Why is this door unlocked?) and walks in with only his normal clothes and his cloak thing to hide his weapon.
While CJ walks in pretending to be a civilian that’s where he’s supposed to be, Leo opens the air vent that leads into the building. (What is with this place and it’s conveniently open stuff?) Before he heads in he stabs his sword into the roof and leaves it there to go to the air vent. He starts crawling inside the vents trying to find a path that leads to the basement. Since the basement is usually where a power box is placed with the roof or top floor being the second most likely location its most likely in the basement since they were on the roof earlier and CJ would come to him if he saw the power box. So, down he goes!
Okay, so, he may have gotten side tracked a few times. Which may or may not have involved robbery. But it’s fine, it was just food and other things that won’t be missed once the place is burnt down. He just stuffed them is his bag, after all it may have only been a few hours but those two water bottles will no way in hell last them, ergo the exchange of ownership of some food and drinks. As well as some parts of electronics and money.
When Leo finally reaches the basement he easily finds the power box. He slips out one of his daggers and cuts some wires in general spots inside and outside the power box not-so-neatly to give the vibe that some animal or insect got in instead of a mutant or person. With that done he teleport to the roof exactly where his sword was placed. At that exact moment CJ pulls the alarm, he can tell from the loud blaring of the alarms and pre-recorded voice saying there’s a fire. A little early but doesn’t mess up his plan.
Leo walks inside carefully avoiding any cameras and noticed some open doors showing how lived in each apartment was. He goes into the most messy apartment room and turns on the stove inside and destroys the outlets with things plugged in. He repeats this process to the apartments with less organized stuff inside. After all if they try to search the cause for the fire they’ll believe a messy or normal person accidentally over loading the circuits while cooking instead of an overly organized and neat person accidentally doing the same mistake.
When he’s done doing this process for the top three floors he teleports to the rooftop once more. He grabs his sword, sheaths it, and jumps over to the rooftops until he gets to a building with a good view of the entrance of the building that’s on fire.
He sees people crowding near the entrance either from trying to see what going on or from being one of the people who just came out. The top floor is visible on fire with a noticeable boom sound. Hmm, well, this ain’t good. He doesn’t see CJ… oh, wait there he is. He’s walking out the building with an old lady, oh hey, she’s wearing the same thing as he did that one time he and Dontron followed April!
After an agonizing amount of time CJ was able to disappear into and away from the crowd as the fire spreads to half the building. Oh, the fire department arrived just now.
CJ arrives soon on the same rooftop as Leo “Mission accomplished!” He raised his right hand for a high three/five, CJ slaps his hand on Leo’s making a loud clap sound. They both have grins on their faces, Leo’s triumphant and CJ’s just pure happiness.
