“So... how did this happen?”
Robert stared as Blazer shifted guiltily. She was missing her trademark blonde hair, her costume, and her amulet.
And that was because said amulet...
“It was my fault,” Blazer said. “I took the amulet off, and then I sorta slipped and almost fell and I dropped it and... I guess he thought it was a toy...”
Beef was currently floating in the air. His little paws moved as if he were trying to swim, but his body didn’t quite obey. He moved with all the grace of a roomba mixed with a helium balloon. He was wearing Blazer’s amulet around his waist, the stark red glowing against his fluffy belly.
But what was most noticeable was that his black fur had changed to a bright blonde.
“Can... can he handle this kind of power?” Robert asked. “He’s not going to like explode from too much energy is he?”
“No no!” Blazer was quick to reassure him. “The amulet adjusts to the wearer. He’s not going to explode or be harmed in anyway. He’s just going to... sort of float.”
“Blonde Beef,” Sonar muttered to himself, looking thoughtful. “Beef Blazer. Blonde Chonk. Blonde Floof. Blazing Beef...”
“He’s not going to become a superhero,” Robert rolled his eyes at Sonar. “Come here, boy. I got a treat for you.”
Beef’s tail wagged as he began to struggle over to Robert. It was like watching a drunk astronaut navigate zero gravity. But Beef was soon within reaching distance, and Robert grabbed him.
“Good boy,” he fed Beef his treat.
Beef barked, but what came out was a thunderous sound that sent a shockwave through the room, scattering papers and other things.
“Whoa...” Sonar began to straighten out his now disheveled suit. “Super barks. Oh! Barking Blazer!”
“Ok, this is coming off now,” Robert said as he began to tug the amulet off of Beef.
