"I thought you said you never wanted to see me again?" Hermione huffed, feeling both defeated and bemused.
"And I thought you said you would stay the hell away from Death Eaters" Draco hissed.
How could he possibly know that? Hermione's eyes narrowed, "are you a part of this?" When Draco's mask remained unmoved she leaned in closer to him. "If you think you can keep a story this big covered up, you've got another thing coming. Don't think I'll back down just because of our history." His scent filled her senses for the first time in weeks. It took everything in her to hold her resolve.
His glacial eyes never broke from hers.
"You're being followed. Don't say I didn't warn you." He released her from his grip and tore off down the alley without so much as a backwards glance.
Hermione watched him go, calculating her next move.

In this AU, 25 year old Tom Riddle has heard of a prophecy that told him that he would be the strongest, most powerful wizard alive unless Harry Potter lives.
As a result, the small child Harry was murdered.
A young witch at that time, Hermione Granger, uncovers the truth as she covers the story for the Daily Prophet. She uses her husband's power and influence to stop Tom Riddle’s rise to power and has him imprisoned.
Unfortunately, Tom breaks out of Azkaban and kills the two responsible for his downfall and the ruin of his name.
The couple's son grows up, uses a time turner to go back to kill Tom Riddle before Tom can murder Hermione and Draco Malfoy.
At least, that was Scorpius Malfoy’s plan.
