“Jesus, Sherlock.” Lestrade wasn’t sure if allowing Sherlock one session in the interrogation room with the woman guilty of murder of John Watson was the worst idea – or the best. “For my part, I wouldn’t be overly cross with you if you did. But...” he waved his hand all around them, words becoming superfluous.

Sirians programmed a timelock in a way that the time portal l will disintegrate any heavy objects to avoid a person merging into one after teleportation. Only authorised races can enter, with an exception.
When Sam enters entered the timelock with a female Reptiloid grabbing onto him, the machine receives an error. With a retry to settle the error, it removed the alien, but not the DNA itself, merging it with Sam's in the process.

Awareness hit her like a bolt of lightning, and her eyes shot open. The brightness in the room sent a white hot stab of pain through her skull but Lisbon did not close her eyes again. She darted her gaze around and found herself not in her bedroom, but in a brightly lit hospital room with daylight spilling through the half-open blinds, sunbeams pouring over the foot of the bed. The beeping came from a monitor which she was strapped to, the pace of which had increased dramatically in the last ten seconds. She looked down to find herself dressed in a hospital gown and half covered in a scratchy blanket.
