Summary
On a summer's day in July of 1824, Merlin arrives at the Pendragon estate to assist his great-uncle in tending to those who work there. By a series of coincidences and one near-fatal knife, he ends up servant to Arthur Pendragon.
Over three years, a friendship grows and blooms into something more, the farm sees itself through the seasons, and creatures of the otherworld begin to converge on the estate and the Pendragons, with vengeance on their minds and hatred in their hearts.

This is part 3 of 4 of my ‘Morgana’s Redemption’ series. I think BBC Merlin went bad around the start of season 3- so I am writing a different ending.
Arthur is High King of most of Albion. He has lifted the ban on sorcery, and made a pact with the sorcerer's of the Isle of Mists. Morgana is now the High Priestess of the Old Religion. This story covers the early part of Arthur's reign and the quest for the Holy Grail. Drawing from the myth in Merlin fashion, but this work is sympathetic to the oppressed magical people. Morgana-centric.
‘Alchemy’ is part 1. It’s a collection of scenes added to Merlin episodes covering end of S1 to end of S2. Alchemy is really dark, and less essential than part 2. I have added in Morgana, Uther and Morgause subplots mostly, giving my backstory to these characters. Reading Part 2 ‘Enchanting Crystal’ is advisable. Enchanting Crystal covers Morgana's return after one year with Morgause, though done very differently, through to Arthur's rise to high king of most of Albion, with lots of twists and turns.
This story picks up right where Enchanting Crystal left off. Please note that Agravaine is an entirely different character in my Merlin-verse, in looks and personality.

This is the story of how Arthur and Merlin, don't date, do date, break up and get back together.

They didn’t talk about what had happened that night. Merlin didn’t dare initiate anything and Arthur seemed like he wanted things to go back to the way they used to be. Merlin was a bit hurt, but he accepted it and didn’t push Arthur to either repeat the activities of that night or explain what he was feeling. However, two weeks later, as Merlin was about to leave Arthur for the night, he found himself pressed to the wall by the door, hot lips devouring his.
After they were finished, Arthur’s forehead pressed to the wall next to Merlin’s head, his panting breaths loud in Merlin’s ear, Merlin asked, “What does this mean, Arthur? What are we?”
Arthur gave him an unreadable look before he huffed. “We’re a prince and his manservant, and sometimes we fuck. Don’t make it more complicated than it needs to be, Merlin.”
Merlin simply nodded. He was fine with that, he told himself. This was more than he had ever hoped to have with Arthur.
