Summary
Will decided to model for Beverly’s figure drawing sessions. It was a way to build his confidence back up after his injury, and it got him out of the house. There, he meets Hannibal, an artist who found himself inspired like never before.
---
Hannibal chuckled, watching Will's eyes narrow with the intensity of his smile. A new, wonderful detail to witness.
“Praise always stokes the creative fire when it's genuine. It's even more delightful coming from one's muse. Thank you for all your kind words and for giving us your time.” Hannibal scanned his face to punctuate his sentiment, “It's invaluable.”
Will wondered if the other man always talked like this.

Summary
Will is still clothed. He’s gotten undressed in front of Hannibal countless times, but he’s never paid such close attention to Hannibal’s eyes on him before. Usually it’s mutual, or functional, or he’s being kissed. This is all very new, and Will doesn’t know what to expect from it.
He knows Hannibal can smell it on him, his anxiety about the entire situation, which makes him wonder why he wanted this so badly in the first place. His one knee is bobbing nervously, unsure how something like this is supposed to start.

Summary
In which Hannibal is an artist and Will is the muse.
I’m writing this as a strong platonic relationship but you may interpret my writing differently if you wish to.
—————“So,” Will began, “what is your design?”
…“I’ve been pondering over the ascent of the blessed lately,” Dr Lecter responded, setting up his equipment. Will nodded in comprehension, “Hieronymus Bosch.”

Summary
Hannibal decided to focus on his sketch again, not wanting to look like he is paying too much attention. Soon he got lost in the sketch again, practically drowning in his own want.
Each stroke of the pencil is like a kiss he wished he could leave- every smudge like a caress. However there was one part of the drawing that wasn’t right.
Hannibal kept pausing on the man’s eyes- the eyes he had gotten a glimpse of. But not a complete look- and it was almost devastating.
How else would the image come alive as the man in front of him? He had to look again. The risk of being found out would be worth it. Raising his eyes from the page, Hannibal looked up.
Blinking rapidly, Hannibal found that the man had left. A sense of sadness swept through him before he looked at his sketch again.
What could he do now? It was unlikely he would see this man again, and he didn’t even catch his name.
After a few minutes of trying to figure out what to do for the sketch- Hannibal gave up. There was a small part of Hannibal that believed in fate. That because he was feeling this way about the man- this would not be the last he saw him.

Summary
In which Will, young FBI trainee, is on a field trip of sorts to kick off his forensic science unit. Will expects to sit quietly, take notes, and avoid eye contact, the professor has different ideas.
A few days later and Will can't seem to stop bumping into the acclaimed writer, surgeon, and dinner party host Hannibal Lecter
---
"Are you sitting or not?"
"I have yet to be invited," The man knelt in one graceful movement and plucked the pen off the tiled floor. He held it out to Will between two fingers like a cigarette, "Have I paid my dues?"
Will gave a terse nod and snatched the pen back. He set back to work revising his notes from the previous week's classes. A week his professor had been talking up this little field- trip-like excursion, and yet so far, it had only managed to rattle him and throw him into the path of frankly annoying strangers.

Summary
“Beautiful.” He purrs as he strides back over to Will and positions himself, standing in a wide stance beside him, over him, almost looming as he addresses his students. “Now, here we have a very classical renaissance pose, but I want you to go beyond that. Can anyone remember what Plato said about beauty?” Hannibal speaks with absolute authority and his withering gaze cuts through the room, but not a sound is heard in answer.
A pause, and then Hannibal continues.
“Plato asserted that everything and anything that was considered beautiful was only considered so because it was breakable. Look at the arch of the model’s spine and the curve of his neck. Perfect submission. Now, I want you to etch the bones – only the bones. Etch them as though they were straining... breaking.”
Hannibal looks down at the boy and holds out a hand over him, beckoning once and then, simply orders, “Arch higher,” as he folds one finger in.
