Cody woke up one morning in a much-missed Destroyer, surrounded by brothers lost forever and answering orders from a loved one he remembered killing.
And, in the eyes of each of his brothers, there was a knowledge and awareness that mirrored his own. They knew where they would be tomorrow, in a month, in a year. They knew where and when they and their friends would die.
The future was a disaster, and no one would protect them... so they would have to do it themselves. They would get organized, Cody and his brothers were very good at making plans. And they would obviously start by removing that damn chip from their heads.

All he gets back as an answer is a distinct feeling of amusement and comfort. Summary
Even before the war started and the regulations were severely against any form of individuality, Cody had watched as his brothers silently rebelled in their own ways, creating little spaces for themselves to feel like sentient beings for once. The clones were raised to fight a war, competence and order were drilled into their minds from the time they stepped out of their tubes. Cody had religiously clung to those regulations, needing a semblance of order amid a chaotic galaxy that they had just stepped into to fight a war on the Republic’s behalf. But at the end of the day, they were all individuals, regardless of the Kaminoian’s attempts at stamping it out or not. Cody had to face the fact that one day he would need to find his own sense of self outside of the GAR’s and Kaminoian’s restrictions.

Summary
Rex was always Cody’s vod’ika, not their batch’s. Sure, they let him tag along as a cadet, but that was more an enabling service to Cody than some kind of kindness to the actual kid. Rex was a little too much a vocal dreamer for Fox and Wolffe to handle him, and Ponds just followed what they did. Bly didn’t notice either way.
Cody was always the one who gave Rex advice, who pointed him in the direction of the bullies and whispered in his ear, see them? do they scare you? good. they are your targets.

Ponds survived the headshot (he shifted last minute and it entered in the wrong angle), but he's been blinded because of it. Safe and healing in the Jedi Temple, Ponds realizes that the road to recovery and independence is hard and full of stumbles and he struggles with feeling left behind. He struggles with not being there for his brothers and with the unknown future. Mace can't make things magically better, but he's there to support his partner.

Summary
With the Galaxy diving further and further into the war between The Republic and the Separatists, Ponds was prepared to face many things in his lifetime after escaping Kamino. Enslavement at the hands of the Republic, fighting for a democracy that didn’t even view you as a sentient being, but he was not prepared, nor expecting for that matter, for Yoda to assigned one young Cal Kestis to Mace Windu as his Padawan.
As Ponds helps his General adjust to being a teacher to a young child in an active warzone, many of his secrets become at risk of being revealed by an over curious Jedi youngling.
But, after Boba’s plan to kill Mace backfires, Ponds decides that in order to protect those closest to him and also reveal the true Sith Lord that hides in the Senate, Mace and Cal must continue to believe he is dead.
If only Cal hadn't come to care for him so much…

Cody walks in to an apartment on Coruscant and finds the last thing he ever expected to, his dead brother holding a baby.
"He feels like he's in some kind of liminal space. Here in this apartment where his brother has a life with these people and the war can't touch them. There is no war in this place, with its baby pictures and rugs, there is only love.
He takes in the scene in front of him, still frozen in place and it's in that moment that Cody realises that he'd never stopped looking for his brother, not really [...]He's looked for his brother in every corner of the galaxy. A thousand places on a hundred planets. Wherever Cody goes, he is looking, still, just out the corner of his eye for a flash or a glance. But he never looked here. Here on 000 is the last place Cody might have ever looked for his brother and yet here he is.
