LOVE LOVE LOVED this so much.
Wei WuXian and Lan Wangi are essentially athletes who compete at World Cup type events. So we follow them through 5 years (starting when they were 16). WWX is his typical cheerful puppy self, and Lan as reserved as ever, and clearly CLEARLY head over heels for WWX. WuXian has the impression that Lan Zhan is in love with someone else, though (because he's flat-out an idiot) and so never gives himself credit... even after a few years when they actually begin having sex (sooo delicious top!LWY).
Something is crooked in the state of the Games, and events within the arena seem to target the cultivators (particularly our boys of course) culminating in the final one in which no one can escape and the monsters and an unknown cultivator are out to kill WWX. (LWY is having none of that, of course, and neither are the others.)
