He tried to orient himself. He needed to put just enough of the pieces together to know enough to fake his way through his next few interactions and then it would be as if it never happened.

Two days had gone by that the Avengers lived with Barnes and things were all well. Two days before reality hit all of them like a bus, when Barnes's mental and physical health started to be far more present over the passing week. The NG tube was placed, therapy sessions started. They did not like their therapist at all and wouldn't acknowledge her at all.
On the best of days they were just confused or stayed locked in their room as they weren't too sure as to where they were or who anyone was. On the worst of day's, like today no one seemed to be fronting at all.
