“Why shouldn’t I?” He roars, the marble of the stairs leading to the Jedi temple ripping apart under his sheer rage echoing through the Force. “They never trusted me, they treated me like an outsider, they took everything I ever cared about from me! You left me, because of them, too! I hate them, I hate them!”

Obi-Wan's eye’s blinked open and he was staring at a pyre. His master’s blackened corpse peeked out between the flames, with his long dead Jedi siblings alive on each side of him. It was all very mournful, but what struck true grief into his heart is the boy beside him and realization it carried.
“What will happen to me now?” Anakin whispers, eyes blue and wet.
Obi-Wan’s bitter smile cut into his cheeks. It seems the locals were right. The Wastes of Tatooine did drive its inhabitants insane. His only regret was that he probably should have lasted longer than seven years.
Or: Obi-Wan believes he’s finally lost it, which is ironically the preferable truth, because having to repeat it all really isn’t that much better.
