Summary
After his life is destroyed by a group of bandits led by a nightdrinker, Obi-wan is forced to depend on the graces of another monster to survive. Paying for protection with his own blood and for training to kill with the blood of others.
Anakin has lived an endless night for almost two hundred years, running from his bloody past. Pushed by the winds of westward expansion to the outskirts of society where hunters are less likely to find him. Obi-wan was supposed to be a passing presence in a life gone stale decades earlier; an acquisition made on impulse kept alive at the behest of his waning patience.
