Vader first meets her wandering alone in the Imperial Palace, five years of age with dark brown hair curled up and trapped into buns at the back of her head. When she turns to look up at him and all his intimidating glory, he’s met with a face he thought he’d never see again.
“Padmé?” He finds himself asking, kneeling and frozen in place....
It was always Vader. Never the dragon, never the fire. All that is felt is the deep, dark, cold in his veins. He can almost see his death, in this feeling. He may not die alone, but he will be frozen over and forgotten. And that’s all he wants now- for the people of the galaxy to forget the pain that Vader, the Emperor’s Fist, brought to their world.
