Hey everyone!
The story begins on day one of the outbreak, roughly two months before Rick joins the camp.
This will be a long ride: slow-burn, character-driven, and in no hurry to end.The last chapter works as an index (no spoilers!) showing which part of the show each chapter lines up with, so you can jump ahead if you want. There’s no smut *yet*, but when it happens, I’ll flag it there too.
I’m not introducing my OC here in the summary, you’ll get to know her bit by bit as you read. Right now, I have material up to the end of the farm era — still doing rewrites. I’m editing and posting as I go, and I plan to take it at least through the Alexandria era (there’s plenty brewing).
I’m also experimenting with an unlabeled POV format. Hopefully it’s clear, but if not, please let me know!

The room was dim, the only source of bronze light coming from the two lamps placed on both sides of the bed. The ashy brown curtains were drawn, blocking any moonlight from peeking through. The room smelt like fresh wood and linen bedding. The vintage wallpaper that covered the walls were adorned with a floral design, not too dramatic but not unnoticeable either.
He was faced away from the door, his scarred topless body enveloped by freshly washed olive sheets. His forehead wrapped in a bandage.
You walk around to the other side of the bed, wanting to see his face. You sat down on a cushy armchair. Sweaty palms clasped together between your thighs as you slightly leaned forward. You wanted to check on him, see how he was doing, but you had no idea where to start.

A companion piece to my original story, Falling Slowly.... but this one is from Daryl Dixon's POV! Each chapter will correlate with the matching chapter from the original story. However, you can also read this as a standalone piece.
In short, this is a story about Daryl Dixon falling in love with you, but really, really slowly and (hopefully) somewhat realistically. It may end up spanning the entirety of the Walking Dead TV series, and perhaps extend into the time period in which Daryl travels to France, Spain, and beyond (if I can get that far). It's sweet and romantic and takes quite a while for the good stuff (the smut) to start, just like it would with the real Daryl Dixon. If you want to truly immerse yourself into the TWD world and re-frame the entire thing around what a romantic relationship with everyone's favorite archer might be like, this story is for you.

Maggie’s eyes remained closed as the frigid jelly was smeared across her belly. She could feel the press of the ultrasound probe as Dr. Carson scanned her abdomen, looking for signs of god knows what. The ultrasound lasted a few minutes, and in those few minutes Maggie thought of every possible outcome. If she lost the baby, Glenn would be devastated. Obviously, she would be too, but… Glenn just held this so delicately in his heart. This was more than a pregnancy, it was a sign of normalcy. A possibility. It was a piece of hope that none of them had held for a long time. Glenn would make such a great dad.
The Saviors never find Alexandria, so Maggie makes it to Hilltop, and Glenn lives.
