To top it all off, Pearl was a drone and Marina was missing in a strange tower. With no other options, Eight heads into the spire to find Marina and figure out how to leave this place.

The world of man, consumed by the tides of war and atomic fire burned brightly. Until it was snuffed out by the tides of water, in which none survived.
Time passed, and new societies forged their place in the world. Societies not made up of humans, but oceanic creatures. They built cities, languages, and histories they called their own.
And just like their ancient predecessors, they fought. Wars, battles and skirmishes were fought over each and every little thing. The most devastating of which occurred after the rising of tides once more.
To most of the world’s inhabitants, the ocean was seen as a barrier. One that merely needed to be broken, whether by technological innovation or by force.
But below the surface lay the ruins of millennia old conflicts, and the shelters created to hide from them.
Life above water, for better or worse, was about to change.

Months after Tartar's defeat, a combination of luck and good will pays off as the sanitized octolings are freed from their control and left to wander the Deepsea Metro, alongside the dozens of Kamabo Corporation facilities attached to it.
As hope dwindles due to the only percieved way out being thought of as less a glimmer of hope and more a death-trap in disguise, many of the sanitized decide to blindly wander out into the seemingly endless maze of hallways littering the unseen parts of the metro. We follow two of these octolings, as they attempt to find another path to freedom...

One day, I decided to answer a strange DM, and next thing I knew, I was in the world of Splatoon, having to complete the Octo Expansion in order to get back home. As a human in the body of an Octoling Agent 8, things suddenly get a lot more…difficult… for me, in the oddest of ways…
And hey, beating Octo Expansion is a lot harder than it looks! Oh… my god…I never even beat Inner Agent 3??? I- I barely play ranked??? I’m stuck in Overachiever Salmon Run??? Dude… ok… so maybe my odds aren’t exactly the best but- I’ll, I’ll make do!
Will she be able to face the trials that await her as Agent 8? Or will she blow her ticket to home?

This work will be heavily narrated due to a lack of other species in the Deepsea Metro to have dialogue with. However, a few will show up later in the story.
This work contains spoilers for the main antagonists of Splat 2: OE, and Splat 3: RotM.
Some things will be headcanons and spontaneously created for the sake of storytelling. I am not attempting to dictate what is canon and what is not. They're my ideas.
