Summary
So what if his former associates thought of him as a lowlife? So what if he was disgraced from academia? So long as he was still welcomed back into the town-on-Gorkhon, nothing else mattered.
With quivering hands, he picked up the letter and carefully opened it as though he was afraid something would jump out at him from inside it. But nothing had changed, it was the exact same as when he had first read it a week ago.Bachelor Daniil Dankovsky,
There is another way.
— Victoria Olgimskaya Sr., The Light Mistress.Yes, there was hope for him still, and hope he would cling to till death did them part.
———
Over a year later, Daniil Dankovsky returns to the Town, with a letter from a dead woman and a ticking time bomb inside his own body, in a last-ditch effort to defeat death.

Summary
"No, Daniil, I meant one more death. I’m showing you how to kill. Keep focus."
He stared at Artemy, horror-stricken and confused, but desperately trying not to show it.
"There’s no need to go that far—"
"I can’t die."
"What?"
"I don’t die, Daniil. Are you worried?" He couldn’t help but smile a bit. "It will only hurt a moment. I’m used to it. I looked at the time when we entered the house, it’s fine. It will be like nothing happened."
"What the hell are you talking about?…"
"You won’t even remember. Uh, I guess there’s no use showing you, then… But I’d rather take it all now than wait for the wound to heal normally. I’m tired."

Summary
Daniil Dankovsky was many things, a scientist, a heretic, a doctor, a murderer, a madman...
But if there was one thing he wasn't, it was a defeatist. He may have lost everything, but his ambition could not be tempered. He will achieve the impossible, he will defeat Death.
Its not a question of how or even if it can be done. Dankovsky must accomplish this task. For should he fail and Death be proclaimed the victor, there is no telling what prize it might dare to claim.

Summary
When Rubin had said Isidor Burakh’s son was bullheaded, Daniil should have known he’d meant that literally, given everything else he’s seen in this absurd town. Because a little ways behind Burakh is, indeed, a massive brown bull.

A few days had past and everyone was settling into camp. The climate was warmer and muggy but there was a new town to explore with new people to rob and swindle! Nothing will change and nothing will go wrong! They believed that until 5 new people who spoke barely any english arrived on the shore at their camp. Seems that they have new members...

A Pathologic and Red Dead Redemption crossover fic I wrote on a whim. Don't be surprised if I don't update this but also I don't be surprised if I DO update this. Or do... I am a character of mystery...

Summary
INLAND EMPIRE [Medium: Success] — You think you should be more concerned at the sight of an unnaturally thin black figure donning a white mask with three tiny holes marking the eyes and mouth sitting beside the lieutenant, cupping its expressionless face in its thin hands, but you’re not. It’s unnerving, sure, but stranger things have happened. Still, what is it?
DRAMA [Easy: Success] — This is a tragedian, a classical writer of tragic plays. It’s in the name, try to keep up with the script, Harry — you are playing the lead role, after all.
The tragedian tilts its head at you, and your eyes follow the stitch lines traced like veins across its dusty-black form. “You’re not supposed to be awake yet.” It says. “We’re still setting up the props. The audience will be filing in soon, you need to get into position.” There is a sense of urgency to its words, almost compelling you to prepare yourself for… what?—
Dankovsky has fled the Capital to save his lab. In response, The Powers That Be sent their two finest cops after him.

Summary
Artemy Burakh returns to the Town, recognising little, sometimes not even himself. Daniil Dankovsky hovers too close, leaning down into the wings Artemy had drawn taut around himself like barriers.
[Pathologic 2. A different, canon-compliant rendition of the story and the two healers.]

Summary
Daniil cleared his throat.
“The Powers That Be are the embodiment of order. There are always threads in the universe that dare to hang loose, and like a moth to a flame, they are always there to tug on them. The Powers That Be unravel everything simply to see what falls.”
“So what? The plague is... it's all gone.”
Daniil noted the slight tremor in Artemy’s voice. Artemy Burakh also lost many things in the chaos. He must also suffer from the nightmares. He must.
“They wanted me to die in the plague along with Aglaya and Block and yet, the more information they received from us, the more they urged us to cure the incurable. To preserve the town. Do you hear me? They will not leave a town of miracles alone. It may not be right away… but they will send someone.”
-
There's no choice but to build a new life and live with the consequences, and so they do. But the events of the plague left deep wounds with the pain and fear of loss ever looming.

Summary

Summary
Faith — there's not much else to have. He's not sure how much Burakh wants it from him—if he even wants it at all. But the days go, and the lives with them. He's not sure what else couldn't fault him. He misses, almost, Death as it once was — an almost placid force that he knew [...] he could stand up to. [...] Death, back then, was winning more often than not (well, it always won in the end, but the Bachelor could put up a fight), but it was, mostly, a fair foe.
But this was—this is no Death. This is Conquest, Pestilence.
(The black night mare, dusk after dusk, bleeds out her colors, pales like a wet ink stain patted then rubbed dry; like bone slowly sun-bleached. She turns the color of blood-stained enamel, of the rot of a cavity.
Rot, rot, rot. To the bone, to the marrow. [...])The Bachelor weaves in and out of the story, between its lines — where the story develops.
A Bachelor-centric study of the Plague in mythified half-vignettes, for when one is faced with the un(com)prehensible it is always easier to see things through someone’s worse, and sadder story. -

Summary
After the Sand Pest, things don't change much. Artemy has a family to raise and a town to heal. Daniil is long gone, and Clara's off with the army. That's probably for the best; after all, no one misses those terrible twelve days. Except maybe a few people. Just a bit. Not for the reasons they might expect. There's no harm in writing to a colleague, anyway. It's the polite thing to do, and if you two start exchanging letters more personal than anything you've ever written before, and if he comes back to you, and if you're forced to reckon with the reality of carving a place for him in your life, would that really be so bad? Maybe you two could learn to like it. Really, it could all work out pretty well, if you two could just manage to actually admit to any of it.

This is the continuation of the Pathologic fanfic in which all ends well and everyone* is fine**, but since it deals with Clara's twin sister returning to the Town on Gorkhon, the asterisks in the first sentence are particularly prominent.
