t’s been three weeks, and Idate has already lost count of the number of times he’s made Wadanohara’s familiars cry.
“You’re the worst familiar in the sea.” Fukami says. If their voice gets any dryer the ocean would boil around the two of them. He almost wishes it would happen, if only for the destruction.
“You’re pretty mouthy for someone who just got out of house arrest.” He hums through a mouthful of smoke. Fukami stares at him dispassionately. If Idate really focuses, casting his mind back, he can remember the way they had looked when they had first woken up: bandaged and injured and almost frail.
