It all happened so fast that he didn’t even have time to react, just gave in to the dizziness, watching his vision darken like a movie fading to black. The floor seemed to open beneath his feet, and his body dropped, limp and unbalanced.
One moment he was standing upright and fully awake, and the next he collapsed to the tiled kitchen floor with a dull thud. The bottle slipped from his hand and hit the ground with a clatter, water spilling across the tiles.
In his unconscious state, he didn’t see Viktor lean against the wall a few minutes later, wearing a smug smile and an analytical gaze. In his hands, a clipboard and a pen.
"Experiment began at 7:23 p.m., Tuesday, August 5th. Subject identified, made contact with agent, passed out without resistance, currently unconscious. Desired effect achieved at 6.4 seconds, no apparent physical damage," he spoke to himself clinically, monotonously, as if merely documenting another technical procedure. Yet the glint in his eyes betrayed the cold façade. His grin was almost maniacal. "You took longer than average to feel the effects of this compound, Jayce. Intriguing. This is going to be a very… interesting experience."
