And the last person he ever wants to see again.
Still, he doesn't have time to care about all that, or the ensuing parade of old travel companions dropping in on flimsy pretenses to check up on how he’s doing (and make sure he’s not sitting on the throne in his underlinens, eating his feelings and a whole wheel of cheese). He's got important work to do.

Gwen Cousland agrees with Alistair's reasoning when he breaks up with her at the Landsmeet. Why, then, is she so achingly lonely when she returns to Vigil's Keep? Through letters penned by Gwen and her companions, we watch her struggle with leadership, mourn the connections she forged during the Blight, and try to find her own identity as Warden Commander without Alistair.
This is a fic celebrating my personal ten year anniversary of getting into Dragon Age! It covers ten years of time between Origins and Inquisition, and specifically my fic Reunion. Although Gwen and Alistair's relationship is one focus of this fic, this story takes place between them breaking up and getting back together.
