Steve Harrington finds Eddie Munson dead and puts himself into denial at the situation, begging Robin and Nancy to help him bring Eddie back to the hospital. Unfortunately Eddie doesn't make it and Steve starts to resent his friends because of it.
This is essentially what I think happend with Steve when he found out Eddie was dead. This takes place between Vecna being blown up and the charity thing at the school and does make sense cannonically (if anything doesn't just ignore it :D)

Without a word, Mike joined Will with his back against the cold brick wall. He reached in his pocket for something, and soon after Will heard the tell-tale chick-chicks of Mike using his lighter. Sometimes he’d pull it out and fidget with it like a toy. It pissed his mom and Mrs Wheeler off, but Will didn’t mind. He understood. Sometimes, it’s nice to feel in control of something as chaotic as fire.
The flame was so bright in the dark alleyway, Will couldn’t help but be drawn to it. He watched Mike bring the flame up to his face and light a cigarette—god knows where it came from. Will tried not to think about it. He’d never see Mike smoke before, and he wasn’t entirely sure how he felt about it. On one hand, it was gross. On the other hand, the way he held the cigarette in his mouth and inhaled like it was giving him life—it was so…captivating. He watched Mike’s side profile, the angle of his jaw and the sharpness of his nose, as he tilted his head back against the wall and exhaled smoke into the wind.

Robin has a hard time with romance. She overthinks, overthinks her overthinking, and finally settles for admiring from afar for an undetermined amount of time. But, because of this nasty habit, she's only ever felt the type of fast love that sparking hope from a glance has gifted her.
The butterflies in her stomach die slowly as she's taken into the houses of the party and her closest friends. The Upside Down rapidly approaches from the cracks in the Earth, quietly lying a layer of ash and soot on the treetops and pavements. She has no time to think about her parents' concerns while she prepares for war with the underworld.
She also doesn't invest much into the idea of how much she hangs out with Nancy so casually now. I mean, she's her best friend's ex, but she HAS to be around her now. It's not weird to talk to her. Not weird to stare at her side profile while she surfs the TV channels. Not weird to burn watching Jonathan kiss her... and DEFINITELY not weird to imagine herself in his position... oh no.

Sarah wants to hate Steve but after nearly dying multiple times and getting to know the real Steve; the hate that she once had for him went away being replaced by love. They promised to keep each other safe no matter what and they plan to keep that promise when a new threat comes to Hawkins targeting one of their own and the baby in Sarah's womb.
