Summary
Dr. Samantha Carter (Point Of View) moves on with her life back in her own reality with the help of a friend. Another Jack steps through the Quantum Mirror, and this Jack has nowhere else he would rather be than with her. Slow Burn fake marriage fic. S/J Tag for visibility, but this is all about the alternates. Rating for darker adult themes.
“Avert your eyes, Jacob,” Jack suggested as he slid his hand downward to Sam’s hip and tugged, shifting her easily onto his lap. To her credit, she only looked shocked instead of uncomfortable.
“I’ll let it slide this time, but only because I know you love her,” Jacob dismissed.
“Yes, Sir, I do,” Jack added, and with a flash of Sam’s blue eyes, he wondered if he had said too much. The truth was that he did love her. Not some other version of her, but her. He loved this Sam who hurt and cried and missed the husband she loved. Maybe that’s why he had sounded so convincing. Maybe that was why she looked frightened.

"I know you don’t have a lot of reasons to smile right now, but I was hoping to at least give you some.”
Sam blinked back tears. “Sir, I–”
“Carter– Sam– call me Jack. Just this once, okay?”

Summary
"Her eyes flicker over towards the mirror to seek the General’s gaze in gratitude but her eyes land on her instead, the other Sam, standing at ease in the reflection. Samantha’s face darkens as the brief glow of joy dancing around her heart dies like a flame. It’s another reminder that this Jack does not belong to this reality, or to her."

Summary
Martouf’s words echo around her, so wistful and nostalgic: “There were two moons that night…”
And oh, she knows something about wistfulness and longing and before she can let her empathy stop there, her mind races to the last time she felt like that.
She is standing on one side of the Quantum Mirror watching as Dr. Samantha Carter lifts her mouth to the Colonel’s, waiting. He reciprocates, leans down and tilts his head just so and oh. The sight of him and her-but-not-her kissing tenderly, freely, twists something inside of her that feels a little like jealousy and a lot like longing.
“Alright, alright, that’s enough, Marty. Show’s over.”

Summary
“Even they can’t say everything they need to say just by looking into each other’s eyes.”
Jack and Sam have a series of conversations between her rescue from Orilla and his decision to accept the promotion... because they are both as bound to duty as they are to each other.
From Chapter 13:
This might be the hardest thing he’s ever had to say to her. “We let each other go. Now. We accept that there’ll always be some reason we can’t act on this thing between us, and we move on. No waiting for each other.” He fixes her gaze. “We let this… go.” He really sounds like he means it. He’s even making it sound like it’d be possible. “Or… instead of waiting until we win the war, we-” He stumbles over how exactly to put this second option delicately, and without losing his cool. “We do this – this thing between us – now.” His insides flip saying it; hers do too, hearing it. “We keep it secret, from everyone. We risk it all and explore… this. Now.”

Summary
Colonel Elizabeth Weir hates Replicators. There’s nothing noble or redeeming about them, and they only know how to conquer, consume, and destroy. Whether it’s the Milky Way or Pegasus variety, it’s all the same menace.
And she'll murder every single one of them until she gets Doctor Sheppard back.
(This is a reverse universe AU featuring Doctor John Sheppard (a diplomat) and Colonel Elizabeth Weir (Air Force), occurring in the quantum mirror universe of the SG-1 Season 3 episode Point of View, where Apophis devastated Earth, and the canon universe saved the day. Also, it's eventually a reverse universe fix-it, except Elizabeth has to rescue John from the Replicators.)
