It's April 1974 and the 19th Annual Eurovision Song Contest is due to begin in Brighton, England.
In the fear that the Soviet Union will sabotage the contest to undermine the power of Europe and descend the world into World War 3, Ruby Redfort is given her mission: to go undercover at the biggest music competition on Earth and decipher the code before hidden operatives can act.
With time running out, she must act quickly to solve the code and save lives, all to the soundtrack of ABBA's hit single Waterloo.
-- 4 years ago this week, I did not know anything about Eurovision, and had to ask on the Discord if this was the ‘finale’. And now look at me, writing a whole plotted fic about it. How times change.

It's been more than two years since Pastel*Palettes's bassist and award-winning actress Chisato Shirasagi proposed to her girlfriend, Perfect Dream Project's solo singer-songwriter Kanata Konoe, and today is their wedding day, which is deliberately on Chisato's 30th birthday as suggested by Katrina Leskanich, the American lesbian musician who is Sayo's best pal and the former Katrina and the Waves vocalist, as her birthday is on the 6th of April, the day that the 19th Eurovision Song Contest was hosted at the British city of Brighton in 1974, where Sweden's ABBA came out victorious for the first time for Sweden since their Eurovision 1958 debut and became internationally known, while Portugal's Paulo de Carvalho finished dead last with only three points along with Germany, Switzerland, and Norway, and yet, the song made Portuguese history as it was one of the two secret signals that triggered the peaceful Carnation Revolution that overthrow the right-wing corporatist Estado Novo regime and started the Portuguese transition to democracy.
