The chatter around them stopped, and she didn’t have to look at the other patrons to know all eyes were on them. But she didn’t even have the inclination to feel the discomfort of it—not when this Elliott Witt seemed to be experiencing all seven stages of grief as he gaped at her.
What, exactly, had she gotten herself into?
“Elliott…” She didn’t know why she said his name back. He’d used hers, though, and perhaps on some level it felt right, but not when followed with, “Do we know each other?”

It was Christmas, and she was reminded of that fact with each house she slowly, cautiously passed on the lane. Trees decorated in windows, fake snow and lights strung across roofs and porches, ornaments dotted around yards. And then, in her periphery, there were her sleeves. A too-big, ugly knit sweater she wouldn’t otherwise be caught dead in, in any universe, hanging from her arms and threatening to cover her knuckles. Elliott told her she would be turned away at the door if she didn’t wear it.
She knew he didn’t really mean it. But here she was, indulging him.

Hands up, Cooper does his best to look at Slone while chest to chest with a gun forcing him to tilt his head up, “I don’t know?”

Fuse just smiles “Well if anyone loves the real Elliott then it’s ya mum. I can guarantee she is your number on fan with me in second place of course.” As Walter says that it takes a moment for it to click in Elliott’s brain “W-what? Hold up you’re my second biggest fan?” He asks with his voice mixed between disbelief, hopefulness and eagerness. “Uh yeah!” Walter says like it was the most obvious thing in the world “Between the jokes, cuteness and charm I gotta say it’s hard not to love ya.” Fuse brushes his hair back after a bit of it had been tickling his ear but to Elliott it was like some sort of model posing in an ad for some cologne as the rest of world faded into blurs whilst he felt every ounce of worry melt away.
The words kept replaying over and over again “It’s not hard to love ya.” It left feeling all warm and fuzzy before a edge of cold and worry creeped back in. What if it was just a Slavonian saying and he actually love love him. “God, ya tense as a brick wall. Ya sure there ain’t more on ya mind?” Fuse says looking back at him. If Fuse could say it then so could he “I…Like..” the last word felt almost impossible to say as he looked down before closing eyes and whispering.

His head snapped up from his position as he heard the door begin to open. He quickly wiped his eyes and sniffled, trying to hide the fact he was crying, but they were puffy and his face was a bit too splotchy & red than it probably should have been. The dim light revealed a small woman who had a sigh of relief when she saw him. She stepped inside, locked the door and sat next to him , the floor letting out a slight creak as she hit the ground.
"I'm okay." He lied, wiping his eyes again, voice hoarse. The pain in his chest was still full force, and it felt like someone had stuck a needle through his lungs.
