Summary
Ever wondered what Moby Dick is even about? Or have you read Moby Dick and want to relive the Pequod's highs and lows without trying to speak 19th century? This is a very reliable and accurate summary of Moby Dick, written like I am your best friend explaining my hyperfixation to you (because I am). Condenses 210k of Herman Melville's favorite whale facts into a very manageable 30k for your enjoyment! Also I point out all the gay stuff and interrupt myself a lot, but Melville does that anyway so it's not much different. Spoiler warning for Moby Dick, obviously.

Summary
What would change about Moby-Dick if the major driving forces of the narrative were women?
How much does this single factor radically alter their choices, their relationships, and their eventual end? What would it take for the women of Starbuck and Ahab to stand in the same places as their male counterparts in the novel? Do they go undercover as men to attain power? How do they feel about that? Why is this the power they seek? Is that power enough to save them?
Or, Moby Dick, reimagined through the lens of Captain Ahab and First Mate Starbuck as butch women.
[Currently on hiatus as I work on writing the rest of it. Turns out writing is a lot slower with 2 jobs 💀]

Summary
Tomorrow morning, the sun will dawn upon the White Whale’s inexorable spout, his hump like a snow-hill, and for the next three days Ahab will chase that haunted whale across the horizon till one of them spouts black blood, and all will collapse, and the great shroud of the sea will roll on as it rolled five thousand years ago. This is how it goes.
But perhaps not this time. Perhaps...Or: Ahab, choosing to live.
//
This fic is a look at what it would take to convince Ahab to abandon his chase, to finally turn around, to save himself and his crew and choose life instead. It picks up immediately after The Symphony, goes through all three days of the chase, and then continues on after. It is a fix-it fic, and a Mostly everyone lives AU, but keeps one very significant, canon-compliant death from the book's second day of the chase.Series

Summary
After the events of the last two days, Starbuck could now admit that Ahab was right—he could almost remember rehearsing this play: the central tragedians, the captain and his loyal mate; the White Whale, hanging from the ceiling just inches above their heads, about to crash down upon the crew and crush them all at any moment; the denouement, unavoidable.
The night before the third day of the chase, Starbuck takes matters into his own hands.

Summary
If, as ye take this broad recounting, aught has looked odd in the culture of whalemen— indeed, should you be anything less than a salt-seasoned veteran of that most noble fishery, and particularly to that fellow among ye whose feet have never left the hard-packed soil of his native land, that veritable tree of devout landsmen from whom roots may well spring into the earth or all life exist in a bulb beneath its surface— to you most especially, it may be necessary to preface the next recounting with an explication of the whaleman’s notion of the holiday.
During the search for the leaking barrel of whale oil, a detour becomes necessary.
A light-hearted vignette inserted into the story of Moby Dick, fulfilling that fundamental human desire to give the crew of the Pequod a beach episode to relax.

Summary
"1923 or 1851 or 1760 or any time before, it doesn’t matter. The ship could be made of pure steel and still, without fail, there it would be. White as a bone, big as the moon, impossible to stop as death."
Ishmael/Queequeg and the existential horror of being constantly reincarnated just to return to the boat.

Summary
Queequeg was picked by the PPDC from a pool of thousands of candidates to be the new pilot for Pequod Prophet in the Oakland Shatterdome. The only problem is that he can't seem to find a single person to drift with and time is running out. And that’s not even mentioning the mysterious white kaiju being sighted around the world, an increasingly reclusive and obsessive Shatterdome head, and an attractive civilian who falls into his life through an open window.
