“Jax, really?” She sounded so consumingly tired. Welcome to the club.
“I hear they like to lay eggs in stuffing,” he said.
“He hasn’t had time to do anything,” Pomni said. “I don’t think he can even get up. He’s just trying to make us leave.”
Not gonna leave? You sure?
“Stay, then,” Jax said. “We can talk about Pom Pom’s colossal crush on our cutest cast mate.”
Pomni ran as red as Jax did. Got you now.
“Stop trying to...” Ragatha blinked. The eye was off him and onto the clown. “You have a crush?”
Pomni took a deep breath. She couldn’t quite shake the pink from her pale face. “He’s just trying to distract us. Don’t let him. Something’s wrong here.”
Jax’s brow furrowed. Did she think he cared about her little assessments? “I’m going to keep talking about you, Clowny. Last warning.”
“Jax, I don’t know anything,” Pomni said. “It looks a certain way, I guess. And I still want to help. Even if…” Even if? “ Especially if... what I’m saying is, I brought Gummigoo back with me. I’m still really sad about what happened. He was just like me.”
Alright, Jax was done.
“Ragatha, did you know Pomni’s super curious? So curious, she breaks into everyone's rooms and takes whatever catches her eye.”
-“She helped herself to your sewing pins and now she stays up stabbing herself in the arm with them..." Pause for effect.
"Just like how you started.” Jax smiled, eyes sliding to Ragatha’s embarrassed face. “Weird how everyone goes there eventually, huh? What you really want is her machete collection. Just ask Rags how she uses those.”
“Pomni, let's go. We tried,” Ragatha pushed Pomni out of the room.

Maybe he couldn’t do anything except... be comfortable, until whatever happened, happened.He hadn't thought he'd make it this many years. It was a long time to spend in the Circus and not get squished or sliced in half, or even just strangled by a balloon string—everyone else let these things happen to them like four times a week. They could afford to be sloppy.
Jax did a decent job keeping himself around this long. He could be satisfied with that.
No, he couldn't. But he didn't want to get all worked up about this.
Jax lifted onto paws that wanted to drop him. Everyone had better keep their distance, because he’d never been the kind for goodbyes.
He hadn’t said a thing when he disappeared from the fall fairgrounds. Not to the ride operators he used to live with or the handful of preprogrammed kids.
Or the guy who owned the farm, his ‘dad’.
Maybe he was coded to be a tiny bit sentimental. Jax could never completely bury his nostalgia, even though he knew the whole thing was fake. He wondered if that’s how the humans would feel after they were done with him.
Ha, no. He wasn't that delirious.
They'd be thrilled to wrap this up.

“We aren’t doing that,” she went on. “It doesn’t matter what we think of him, he’s conscious and he was smart enough to keep it a secret. He wants to live.”“He never cared what anyone else wanted…” Gangle sounded like she was sinking into herself to dare say it, but she said it. Credit where it’s due.
“You’re very kind, Pomni.” He heard Ragatha’s voice through her chest, where one of his ears was crushed against. That’s why it was soft… was he in her lap?
It wouldn’t be like him to sit here and. Well, sit here. But Jax couldn’t get up. If he moved, it’d hurt worse.
And because his nerves worked, and so did his tear ducts, his eyes could get wet.
Somehow that offended him most. The idea he’d never cried in front of these humans before, and he might mess up and do it right before they decide to kill him. No, he could do this. Being on Ragatha’s lap wasn’t ideal, but. He could just stay ‘asleep’.
And listen to everything they actually thought about him.
Ragatha’s arms weighed lightly over his ribs, uncomfortably close to the source of his pain. Or else the infection had flared up his whole side now. Or that’s just how muscles connected and the cut was getting worse.
Ragatha was still talking. "I don't know how you aren't upset with him for what he said."
"I am upset," Pomni said. "But it's obvious he's full of #$&^. If you're mad, why are you holding him?"
The ragdoll hesitated. “...I think everyone should have someone when they... I mean, if we can't figure this out... Pomni, I don't know what to do. Caine might help if we’re honest about this.”
Pomni stomped. Jingling. “We can’t risk it. We can get antibiotics somewhere around here.”
“How do you just ‘get’ antibiotics?” He could hear the eye roll from Zooble—literally, their larger eye rattled. “And like Gangle said, he wouldn’t help us.” True.

I’m Not Real NotSoSad Summary: Five times Jax was almost caught as an NPC, and one time he was. Or: Jax being an NPC, with a loose 5+1 idea. Shiznit. “Um…I made up a name already? I’ve always wanted to be…called…Jax.” His smile faltered, but he tried to remain confident regardless. “...Alright then! Jax it is! You missed today’s adventure, but maybe one of your lovely circus mates could show you around?” Jax stared at the “lovely circus mates”. The ones that he’d just seen beat up “NPCs” like him. He smiled. “Happy to meet you all.”Jax was an awful villain. Maybe he wasn’t a villain, at least not anymore. He was supposed to be a henchman type to some town’s evil mayor. His reasoning wasn’t even good- His parents died, so now he’s evil? Talk about cheap. … Well, it all made sense before he found out he wasn’t real. He listened as the “players”, as they called themselves, talked about their “adventure”.So the players came from a place called Earth. They lost all their memories getting here, though. Lucky him. That wouldn’t be too hard to fake. What he was worried about was his room. And the fact that he didn’t have one. He’d managed to ward Ragatha off for the meanwhile by shoving paint on her dress- She was more confused than angry, surprisingly. All he had to do now was choose a random unused room and paint out a sign. … He wasn’t all that great at painting, but with all the materials scattered around randomly, it wasn’t that hard to come up with something resembling the other signs. He put the sign up, and entered the room, only to find it…blank. Scarily blank. There wasn’t anything but gray skies and no walls or floor or- He took a deep breath, and walked back outside, deciding to just…never go in there again. When Ragatha returned, he showed her the door and its sign, and she seemed satisfied.“You can’t just leave with whatever you want.” Ragatha reprimanded him for the hundredth time. “Put it back.” “What? Why?” He held the trophy closer to him. Sure, he hadn’t won it, but he had been near the racer that won it, so it was almost his by association. “It’s not like they’re gonna miss it.” Because you don’t think they’re real anyway. “It’s just wrong.” Ragatha sighed. “Caine, can’t you try to explain this? Aren’t we supposed to be, like, at least decent morally on our adventures?” “That’s right you rabbit rascal! No more indulging in the thing that reminds you of your past life on Earth. That sounds fair.” He was starting to panic. “W-wait, I’ll do better, I-” Before he could finish, Caine was already gone. … Oh no. He was already just barely eating anything because of how weird the players were with food- Now this?? Ragatha shrugged. “That’s what you get for being mean.” /// Jax was not doing well. He thought the punishment would only go on for a day, but it seemed both Caine and the world around him often forgot when days passed. He was so…hungry. And tired. And, more than anything, frustrated. Heck, he was even considering just telling someone he wasn’t a player so that they might help him. No one seemed to notice his change in appearance, though his change in attitude didn’t go unseen. “You really miss eating, huh?” Kinger said, in an attempt at a comforting manner. “I’ve never seen anyone get punished like this before, at least from what I remember. Do you think talking about food would help? There was this dish from my youth I vaguely remember, a kind of steak-” “If you don’t shut the heck up, I’ll-” His mind went blank for a moment “ruin your weird pillow fort.” “Well don’t do that.” He sounded almost concerned. “Then Caine might extend your punishment.” … Jax tried not to let his horror show.Food didn’t spoil, he’d found. That was…alright. Suspicious. Jax wondered for a moment why Caine didn’t just provide for all the worlds. But then he remembered Caine was an omnipotent maniac. And “all the worlds” were just settings for his characters. … Jax wondered if he would think differently if he was a player. Things would definitely be easier… “So, what’s the deal with you and food?” Jax frowned, looking around at the pit he and Kaufmo had gotten stuck in. “I just like it?” He answered dismissively. “Yeah, but I’ve seen you…take it away with you? After the feasts? Look, I don’t want to judge you, since this is probably something about your past life…” “Sure.” Right. Heartfelt reason. “Um…I didn’t get a lot of food when I was…human. …So I just like to keep some with me.” … Nailed it. “Oh, that’s awful.” Kaufmo said sympathetically. “I’m so glad you’re with us now.” “Y-yeah. Me too…” “Um…young?” Did Caine even give him a date? Wow, he really was quickly made… “It doesn’t matter now, though.” “Of course it does.” Kinger spoke up. “We need these memories to connect us to who we are. Gangle can't find it in herself to leave her room after the Spudsy's adventure.
Everyone seems different to her, whether it is true or not.
With such a fragile body comes responsibility that one such as Gangle cannot get a hold of.
Unable to deal with the pressure that breaks her already broken form, the danger of sharpness is far too tempting.Under the frantic back and forth, ribbon rips off and falls to the floor. It seems like the ripping and tearing does not stop.
Pink is a happy color.
So why is it so... disturbing?OR
Gangle is VERY unstable after Ep 4, and locking herself in her room only adds to her stress.
And without anyone keeping her sane, she does things she most definitely should not. -

Ragatha isn’t sure what happened when that Stupid Sauce got in her eye but it’s almost freeing in a sense. The chains of expectation, of needing to be the mom that steps up and cares for everyone, are lifted. She no longer needs to carefully think about the right course of action. She can just do the first thing that comes to mind.

Once she’s in, she quickly realizes something’s wrong, the host is telling her she can’t leave, the other players are doing the same, they don’t know much about the real world, and they’ve been stuck here for years!? Too bad she proves them wrong with N as he drags her program out of the Circus and back into her own body.
When she’s gone though, a remnant of her remains. A hostile program that seeks a new host in order to enact revenge.
