Summary
Behind the screaming colors of the Amazing Digital Circus, something is rotting. The smiles are a little too wide, the games a little too cruel. Jax has always survived by denying any feeling that makes him vulnerable, but the glitches are a truth he can't ignore, and neither can Pomni.
Bound by a dangerous secret, Pomni is determined to break through his walls. But as a voice in his head coldly warns him about caring too much, they must navigate a world falling apart at the seams. Summary
A fantasy au where Pomni is the daughter of kinger and queenie, and she is far from the perfect princess. As far as the royal court is aware, she is a boring spinster who spends all of her time in her studies. In reality, her studies by day are just an excuse to learn more about her less acceptable hobbies by night. She's a thrill seeker. She practices acrobatics to keep herself honed for exploring her city's rooftops and abandoned buildings by night. She pickpockets just about every noble who enters the palace doors. She has a pervasive habit of poking her nose into things she shouldn't.
And then her father, Kinger, decides to marry her off to a stranger: the heir of a neighboring country. It happens with absolutely zero warning, and he avoids giving Pomni a straight answer. He seems almost afraid to.
The same night her life is turned on its head, a circus comes to her city. She immediately becomes infatuated with two of the cast members, and learns that the circus might just be a possible escape from her arranged marriage to the strange heir.

“So… how’s the new person handling it? The jester? She looks similar to Kaufmo, don’t you think?” Ribbit huffs a laugh, then mumbles to himself, “Of course, they’re both clowns.”
That end part sounded more like he was saying to himself than to Jax. Jax didn’t understand the hallucinations and how they worked, but it weirded him out slightly.
He wondered if Kinger sees his wife all the time.
“Say… why are you afraid of her? I thought she was cool!”
Jax didn’t know what to think. Sleep was definitely an option; it wasn’t necessary, but he could just do it to pass the time.
“You thought she was cool. Why did ya pull back?”

In any case, Kinger enjoys being a dad, even if everyone was coerced into being his children. He always saw everyone else as his kids, anyways.
My OCs, Nix, Shin, and Diva are there and my IRL friend’s OC, Swirly, is also here. Everyone will have a birthday and this fic runs on the assumption that their ages are what their normal ages would be if they weren't trapped. The OCs arrived after Pomni.
