My inspiration for this one came from a weird place.
First I got hooked on the song I Can't Save You by Gideon https://youtu.be/PcBsc-CSlT4?si=aZA4UHAK5PhExePx
Then I rewatched The Imp and Skizz podcast eps 123 https://youtu.be/c675Hoe9YTQ?si=fn0nleKXo9yLEpP6 and Skizz and Grain mention how it felt like Grian was the older bother trying to keep two younger brothers alive.
And my brain said that I can make Angst out of that.
So I wrote out this first chapter pretty quick with the plan of doing 8 more chapters, one for each session. Then I realized I really needed to rewatch at least the Spanner POVs to really do this right. Then I realized with work, being an adult and my other current fic I'm working on I would not have time to do that for a very long time.
So I figured I'd post this first chapter as a stand alone. I might come back to it some day or maybe someone else can take my idea and play with it.

“More like extra annoying insurance,” Grian had grumbled.
“Oi, stop being a pain,” Mumbo had said, grabbing Grian in a headlock and rustling his hair. “Besides, every bodyguard I’ve ever had has been quite boring. You probably won't even notice they’re there.”
Christ, Grian wished Mumbo had been right.
