Bucky cleared his throat nervously. He couldn't believe he was about to follow a ghost bird to God-knows-where in Stark Tower—and that's assuming the bird didn't get him caught and dragged out by security, walk through a wall and lose him, or fly right out the front doors and into Bucky's death by oncoming traffic.
For Bucky to keep the government from discovering he'd become a Sentinel—and ruining his life accordingly—he could not afford to get caught trespassing in Stark Tower.
He did it anyway.

Everything changed for Tony Stark in a cave in Afghanistan. For years he’s been dealing with the fallout of the shrapnel imbedded in his chest—both physical and mental—in his own ways. Brock Rumlow never believed in that 'One True Guide' stuff, but he has to admit he's never been this compatible with a p-emp before. Still, giving Iron Man an inside track to his brain wouldn't be good for Hydra.
Tony has always been happier designing sentinel safe products than acting as a guide, and that doesn't change just because he's met someone he could theoretically bond with.
Both of them wish Fury would stay out of it, and maybe read less romance novels while he's at it.

That's how trouble starts. He's a POW Sentinel, still recovering from his time in that camp and Steve wants to stick him in a room full of people? Okay, yeah, great idea Stevie.
Tony knows going to this gala is going to suck? Why? Because there is no such thing as a good gala and you can quote him on that. There is no such thing as a good gala. They sucked before he fledged as a Guide and they sucked even more afterwards. Doesn't matter what Pepper might promise, he knows how these things goes. But there is no getting out of it. Not with Pepper dragging him there.
Both of them are in for a surprise.

Steve and Bucky were born around the 1980s, Project Rebirth only happened recently, and had two volunteers on which the serum had been adminestered. Also, the Starks had a girl whose name is Natasha Antonia Stark and who instead of inheriting her father's company, became a SHIELD Agent. And a badass one at that.
Basically it's an Agents AU with a female Tony Stark where a mix of domesticity between the Avengers as well as the interesting dynamics of sentinels and guides are guaranteed.
