Summary
"Our new theory is that there were two distinct categories – "
"We have a whole list of possible, like, culturally-significant splits, but – "
" – make more sense to be societal roles or some – ""Can you two chill?" Marl asked loudly. Their gaze was still unimpressed, but there was the beginning of a smirk tugging at their lips. "Take a breath. Sit down. You don't need to be climbing in Riebeck's lap to talk weird fish society roles, or whatever it is you're ranting about like that."

Have you ever wondered how Hearthians came up with gendered pronouns?
Have you ever wished to read about the process in excrutiatingly specific linguistics details?
No? Can I interest you in some worlbuilding, then? Campfire banter? Anything?Series

Summary
You don't know what it is—a detailed hallucination, a trick of the mind, or one last gift from the Eye of the universe in recognition of your years of steadfast dedication to finding the answer. Infinite life condensed into a moment: twenty-two minutes to save the universe. In the end, you led yourself and everyone you loved to their final resting place. A universe contained within the space of an atom, an explosion as bright as a supernova.
And then you woke up.

Summary
“Gabbro!” the Hatchling cried. Gabbro turned at their name, flute lowered. The Hatchling dashed across the sand and grabbed the astronaut by the shoulders. “I’m stuck in a time loop with Chert. You have to do something.”
“Oh, good luck with that, bud.” They raised their flute.

Welcome to the Timber Hearth Police Department, where you don't quit your side-job because there just isn't enough crime to go around to make a decent living being a cop.
Until now, that is...A modern AU where Hearthians, Nomai, and Owlks (the O'ulkaea) coexist in all their diverse, awkward, misunderstood, and sometimes terrifying glory.
Cultural satire, comedy, action, drama, mystery, intrigue, and a touch of romance ensues!

Summary
When the ship crashes during the hatchling's second day of flight training, all Gossan can think about is how much he is going to lay into Slate when they get back. But, as things take a turn for the worst, Gossan and the hatchling find themselves in need of the very mechanic's help if they are to make back to the village alive.
Or:
My take on how Gossan loses their eye, and the complicated relationship of them and Slate following it all

Summary
The hatchling has reached the eye of the universe, and despite everything, it's so hard to let go of the present. They gather everyone around the campfire, and for one final time, sing the travelers song to the universe.
The past will always affect the future, even if they can’t see it.
However, it’s time for something new, now.The little scout crash lands onto a strange new planet 14.3 billion years later, interrupting a meeting between the two species who inhabit the planet. Cedar, an Acridocel, and Alyonsia, an Aulofin, don’t speak a lick of the same language. The music in the stars bonds them together, a tune that rang in their hearts.
They start to unravel the mysteries of the strange object, the past it represents, and the future it allows them to seek. Tangled in cultural issues, a looming storm, and a long burnt out fire, Cedar and Alyonsia reach for the stars in hopes of understanding their past, and hopefully guide their future.

Summary
It's launch day, and the newest astronaut of Outer Wilds Ventures is finally setting off on their first solo voyage to explore the solar system. Only, their first flight is spun off-course when they make a world-shattering discovery...
Older Than the Universe is a complete retelling of the story of Outer Wilds and Echoes of the Eye, with added worldbuilding, science, and character interaction sprinkled throughout. The ENTIRETY of this work (Yes, even Chapter 1!) is FULL of spoilers for the game and its DLC. Outer Wilds is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so read at your own risk!

Summary
The Hatchling experiences a childhood memory.
(Edit: I realized this puts Feldspar's disappearance a little further in the past than I officially consider canon, but it was worth it for the theming. That being said...space and time are very linked, and Dark Bramble is very distorted. Maybe from Felds' POV, it *has* been less time spent surviving there than it has from Timber Hearth...much to consider.)
(Or, y'know, Hearthians just mature faster than humans. That's probably the simpler explanation. ::})

Summary
“Hey, I thought I might see you before the big launch,” you call out as they approach you. “Nerves getting the better of you?”
They don't reply, just... look at you for a while. They slowly scan over your clothes, your hands, your face, lingering at your scarred eye.
You arch a brow at them. “Need something, hatchling?”
Eventually, they settle within themself, square their shoulders, and look at you. “Think you can give me a hand with something for a minute?”
or - a series of goodbyes that didn't stick.
