Loki halted.
Different scenarios played in his head with every stone step he climbed. By the time he reached the doors, he was out of breath. His chest was killing him, his ribs ached as did his muscles. He was tired and exhausted, and he really had no idea what he was going to do if she wasn’t-
The large door opened with a creak that echoed through the wasteland. Loki froze, his hand resting over his chest, he could feel his heart pounding against his palm.
She leaned against the door frame, “Oh, so now you want to talk. Weren’t you trying to kill me a few months ago?”
Loki bit his tongue, he probably should have thought about this more.

After Thanos raided the Statesmen, the roles were reversed. Loki survived and Thor did not... Now half the universe is gone and Loki has spent the couple of weeks silently mourning with the other surviving Avengers, he finally decides it's time to visit someone he's been meaning to for a while now... his mother. The Goddess of Death.
Who, yeah, he tried to kill a few months prior. Whoops.

So when it came time to snap in the Endgame battle he hesitated only long enough to brace himself against the pain of holding all of the stones.
"This one, this one is ours," the Infinity Stones whispered silently to themselves. "We will let him try again."
Tony snapped and woke up after surgery in a cave.
The Guardian of Infinity had been born.

Sigyn’s chest was starting to feel very hollow. Each breath was harder and harder to take in.
“Come forward, my dear.” The Queen said, her voice was kind but it still echoed off the walls with authority. Sigyn found herself taking steps closer. She didn’t know how she was doing it, because honestly she felt like collapsing. Her eyes were glued on the man standing at the bottom of the steps.
He was…nothing like she had ever imagined.

Sigyn is the daughter of a General from Vanaheim. In an attempts to stop a war before it starts, a marriage between the Prince of Hel and (since the King bares no daughters) Sigyn. Time travel wasn't supposed to work like this. He'd done the calculations himself. It shouldn't be possible for them to be in their own past. They were supposed to end up in a different-yet strikingly similar-universe because True Time Travel doesn't exist. But now they have apparently replaced their former selves and there was no 'Future' to get back to. There was only the here and now which just so happened to be 11 years in the past.
"Tony was starting to hyperventilate. Which did not help when he realised that the particles he was breathing in were actually him. In fact it made everything 10 times worse.
“Oh my god. This is-I can’t.” Tony gasped. “I accidentally killed myself. This is like legit suicide.”
Bruce winced but still reached out for his friend. He grabbed Tony’s shoulder and tried to ground him. “Actually I think suicide requires intention and we definitely didn’t mean to do this. So this is more like accidental death.”
