Henry sat on the plastic chair swinging his legs, trying not to move the arm that now lay in a makeshift sling made from Mum's scarf.
Mum crouched in front of him, smoothing his hair back over and over.
"You remember what to say?" she asked quietly.
"I fell carrying plates. I'm clumsy."
"That's my boy." She kissed the tip of each finger on his good hand. "And what do we never do?"
"Never tell."
She smiled, radiant under the fluorescent lights. "Exactly. Secrets are what make us special."
It hurt.
But the hurt meant he was hers.
And that was worth everything.

21st century man, Ralph was transported into his favourite shit horrid novel set in the around 2000 like he was Isekai, cool right?.. He knows all the horrid elements to stay away from the danger but did he mention the fact he entered the body was one of the villains/killers?
The problem was in the plot he was also brutally burned alive by the main villains, his closer friend. Horrid Henry.
To save his ass, he remembered the past life he had seen there was a ship between rude and horrid.. Ralph's pathetic attempt to not get killed, ends up confessing his love to Henry. Somehow it works

The plan was simple: set it off in the backyard, freak Mum out, and prove he could be just as wild as Henry. He had pictured her screeching in fright and dropping her baking dish, maybe grounding him for a week, but he would grin through, knowing he had finally left a new mark on his name.
Peter had lit the fuse, heart pounding with a mix of nerves and excitement. But the firework didn’t shoot up like it was supposed to. It hissed and sparked, and before he could react, it exploded into a burst of light and heat, right there on the ground. He froze, the world slowing as the blast roared in his ears. He didn’t even see Henry move, but suddenly his brother was there, shoving him hard to the ground. He hit the grass, momentarily winded, as another crack slit in the air.
Henry screamed, a sound Peter had never heard from him before, raw and jagged. When Peter scrambled up, Henry was on his knees, hands clawing at his face, blood seeping between his fingers. Peter had shouted his name, trying to pull his hands away, but it was no use. Everything after that was a blur; paramedics, flashing lights, Mum sobbing in the ambulance while Peter sat silent, numbly staring at the blood on his hands.

Tomorrow he'd smile his perfect smile, teeth white, lips polite, while Henry snarled and clawed at walls that would never, ever let him win.
Peter could already feel the smooth weight of the gold star sticker on his chest, the faint adhesive smell when he peeled it off at night.
Peter closed his eyes. The certainty settled in his chest like a second heartbeat, strong and sure, pulsing with every breath.
Henry could glare all he wanted. Henry could scream until his throat tore, voice ragged and raw.
It didn't matter. Peter was untouchable.
Peter was perfect.

Henry's smirk died, replaced by a frown that deepened into something colder. Love? From Peter? The perfect little brother, the one who'd tattled on every prank, who'd shone in every spotlight Henry had tried to snuff out?
"What the fuck, Peter? This is a joke, right? A sick, twisted joke," he snarled, shoving Peter's hand away with trembling force, his mind reeling from the betrayal that cut deeper than any knife.
He tried to stand, but the room tilted violently, dizziness slamming into him like a tidal wave, crashing over his senses and drowning his strength. His legs buckled as he collapsed back onto the couch, his vision swimming in a haze of terror.
"What... what did you do? The drink... you spiked it?" he gasped, panic clawing at his throat, his voice breaking with raw fear.
Peter's expression remained serene, a chilling calm that amplified Henry's terror to unbearable heights.
"Spiked? Oh, Henry, don't be so crass. I just know how to mix drinks very well. To help you relax, like you've always helped me see the fun side of things. You needed this, didn't you? To let go for once.”

"What the hell?" he muttered, rubbing his eyes. This had to be a dream. Why here, of all places The last time he'd been in this store was years ago, back when he and Henry were kids, fighting over who got the last chocolate bar.
He pinched himself, yelping at the pain. "Okay, this is weird," he muttered, rubbing his arm.
Something small and solid rammed into his legs, nearly toppling him. "Oi! Watch it!" a familiar voice grumbled.
Peter looked down, and his heart stuttered. It was Henry. Not the Henry he'd buried today, the one ravaged by years of pain and self-destruction, but Henry at twelve, spiky brown hair sticking up in all directions, those piercing green eyes narrowed in annoyance, freckles dotting his nose, and wearing that ratty jumper he'd refused to throw out.
Peter's mouth went dry, and without thinking, he whispered, "Henry?"
The boy froze, then squinted up at him suspiciously. "How the heck do you know my name? You some kind of stalker or what?"
Peter's mind raced, scrambling for a cover. "I... uh, you look just like my brother. Same name and everything. Spooky coincidence, right?" He forced a weak smile, his voice shaky.
