Violet scoffed. Turning to face the man with acidic, venomous eyes. “What are you doing here?” She crossed her arms.
Xaden simply smirked, “I was simply helping you out.” He sat down two bar stalls away from her. Violet restrained from the urge to stare at the man—stranger. Xaden seemed mostly the same since he had left; dark, wavy black hair, sharp jawline and glimmering silver-studded earrings. The fucking asshole. “How have you been doing, Violence? It’s been a while.”

When Xaden's roommate and best friend moved in with his girlfriend of 2 years, he thought the empty bedroom would stay empty. It's not like they need help with the rent. Then she tells them about her best friend, who was recently cheated on, going through his own breakup; he feels enough camaraderie to agree to meet her. After getting scolded in his own bar by the most beautiful woman he's ever seen, he agrees more readily than any of his roommates would expect. Now his apartment smells like flowers, his dog won't sleep in his room anymore, and his roommates won't stop giving him shit.
