Mumbo lunges from the woods, fangs extended, mouth open in a hiss.
He pounces on Iskall, his teeth finding their throat, shredding it in an attempt to get as much blood as possible.
The last thing Iskall sees before it all goes dark is the moon, huge in the sky, the image of Mumbo leaping from the woods at him, burned behind his eyes.
or, The server's vampires go feral during season 8 and attack people. The peaple they attack die and don’t come back for some reason. The non-vampiric hermits race to restrain their vampiric friends well trying to find a way to bring the ones they killed back.

Summary
Grian opened his eyes and scanned them across the desolate plane that is the end. His eyes flashed up and he saw the ender dragon circling across all of the black obsidian pillars. He studied the end on both of his sides. Nothing. He looked behind him. Nobody. Where is everyone? He was alone. Alone in the end. He glanced around once more. Still no sign of anybody. Was he sure everyone jumped in? Yes. He swore he saw their feet touch the end portal at the same time as his. Was there a glitch? He sure hoped it wasn’t. Grian thought, for a moment, that there was a figure to the right of him. He quickly turned and found… Nothing. He was alone, and the only way to get back to the others was by killing the ender dragon. He sighed. I guess I'm killing it all by myself. He thought. This better be some kind of joke.
OR
Grian is kidnapped by the Watchers, and Pearl wants to get him back.

And he'd always ask Grian if he was okay, and tell him to call him if anything happened. The man worried too much. So when a dog with a note attached to its collar showed up at Grian's door suspiciously, he decided to call Mumbo instead. Little did he know, that this dog would change his life, forever. The world would've been better off if he'd called Martyn.

From a young child, Grian had some weird connections with the world's ghost company, Phasmophobia Co. He always found a love for learning and saving up for the equipment.
On his 8th birthday, he was gifted a high tech spirit box, quickly falling in love. Going around in the forest with that thing, trying to talk to any ghosts, never getting a response but that never brought him down.
But one day, out in the forest, he stumbled upon three unique cats, each one special in a familiar way. But he gained more and more, each of them from the forest. A strong, unbreakable connection that many hated, including his parents.
On his 18th birthday, he was forced to make a decision on that day from his parents. Either he gets rid of his cats and stays home, or leave.
For anything in the world vs. his cats, his cats will always be his choice. So he left and never heard a word from his parents.

Grian arrives in Hermitcraft after a mysterious admin approaches him after seeing his buildings in other places around and multiple people mentioning a watcher who loves to build. He is shy at first but slowly opens up and begins his new life.
Iskall will not be taken out of the fic due to the one sentence he is in, I will not change what has already been written but I will not be adding him or writing him at all, he is only in chap 2 (i think) for one scene
I will not write TFC due to me having never been a fan/watched his videos before his death and the worry that i'd be being disrespectful to the dead by putting him into this fic, Rest in peace TFC.If you'd like to skip the older writing I suggest you skip to chap 6 where there will be a summery of what has happened so far.

He had been with the watchers for a while. He wasn't sure how long. It hadn't been what he had bargained for. Even though Grian had gone willingly, he regretted leaving behind his friends. For the longest time, he just wanted to go back.
The greatest cruelty the watchers showed was thier love. They kept this player because they loved it too much. But the universe would have to let him be a player once more.

“What about Mumbo?”
“Mumbo?” Iskall asks, and their tone is uncharacteristically serious, and Etho tells himself that he really needs to ask his roommate about their long discussion with Mumbo. “What do you want to know about Mumbo?”
Grian’s eyes watch Iskall for a moment, a bit too intense, before they shift back to Etho, and then to the rough sketch of the compass and its cardinal directions: “Where did he go?”
“Aha,” Etho says, suddenly understanding what Grian wants. “Mumbo is also from one of the rarer directions.” He points at the bottom left area on his paper. “Right there.”
Grian leans closer. “Wicked Nonsense?”
Etho nods. “That’s what X says, but-”
“Mumbo’s world is just some high Logic that pretends to be high Nonsense,” Iskall cuts. “X says it’s Nonsense because Mumbo could create pretty much anything he wanted.” Etho thinks of Bdubs and his nostalgic smile when he tells him about how in Omnia anything could be real, if one simply took the time to imagine it.OR: Etho yearns for the world he left. Mumbo tries to find joy in the world he returned to. Grian's reappearance makes this easier and a lot more difficult at once.

My Hermitcraft Season 6 writing piece for the Grian Fanzine, July 2025.
There were many different things that could pose as threats to servers. Listeners, hackers, viruses, infections, cross-server conflicts and invasions…
Because of these, Grian and his fellow watchers were in charge of taking care of servers and protecting them from these threats.
From listeners especially. Grian had seen what one could do first hand- not that he remembered that. Better that he didn’t think about it.
