She looks up at me, an exasperated look on her face, “It’s not like I can just tell Malek no when he comes for me, Quinnie.”
“No, but you can promise me not to make it easy for him to take you,” I argue back, crossing my arms over my chest in what I hope is a somewhat intimidating look. “I just want you to live, Gen. Not just survive, but live.”
I can see the reluctance in her eyes, but at least she doesn’t argue anymore. With a sigh, she lets herself fall back on the grass, her arms raised above her head. “I don’t even know what plans I could make,” Gen huffs and that's the closest thing to a promise I can hope to get from her right now.
“That's alright, we can make them together,” I offer with a smile.
OR, Imogen and Quinn talk about love, hope and the future before heading into battle and Quinn gives her friend a crash-course on planning for the future.
