“It won’t leave me alone,” Party whispers, strangled, “and it doesn’t even– speak, it never speaks, it’s just– images.” Jet takes another careful step forward, kicking away the shards of broken plate with his boot, quickly scanning the scene. No blood. Just a broken plate and Party, pale and trembling, breathing shallow, eyes wide and pupils pinprick-small, their hands clutching the sides of their head. “At least– At least She has the bolts to tell me I’m gonna die, big fuckin’ robot out in the desert, goddamn– should just– fuck, it won’t shut up–”

This wasn't supposed to happen.
Party would throw everything away for the rebellion against BL/Ind but Jet couldn't do that. He couldn't bring himself to lose his friends. And when a raid goes wrong and they are threatened, Jet forces them all to run and gets hurt in the process, pissing off Party. He tries to keep the injury hidden with limited success.
Featuring Parental Jet Star, Hurt Jet Star, and a happy ending. Obsessed with these ideas so hopefully this does it justice.

The thing is— Ghoul knows what Party’s like, when they’re annoyed or upset about something. They’ll kick up a fuss and stomp around a little, but they aren’t ever actually *really* upset. Not even when Jet ruined their hair, or when Kobra accidentally broke their favorite set of headphones, or when Ghoul broke one of the brand-new expensive colored pencils the Doc got them for Christmas. They’ll bitch and moan and whine to anyone who’ll listen, but they’ll forget about it and move on in a day or two, and all’s forgiven.
He won’t say that they’re all bark and no bite, really, but they sure as hell do a lot of barking in the meantime.

Party gestures wildly with their hands as they talk, nearly knocking Kobra Kid’s milkshake off the table in the process.
“—some centre-city brat!”
Kobra shoots them a glare, pulling his shake back protectively to his chest and out of the danger zone.
