Jimin’s smile was so full of certainty that Jeongguk didn’t dare to doubt him. After all, Jimin always seemed to know something Jeongguk didn’t.

He cups Jimin’s cheek with reverence, cradling him like something fragile, something precious. His thumb wipes away the tears falling faster now.
“I don’t want you to go,” Jungkook whispers. His throat aches. His heart aches. Everything in him aches. “I want you to stay here with me. I want you to stay.”
Jimin is crying harder now, but he’s still listening. Still looking up at Jungkook like he’s the only thing that matters.
“I know there’s planes and trains and cars,” Jungkook shakes his head, trying to push away the flood of miserable thoughts. “And I know you love those people in there. I know they love you too. But so do I, Jimin.”
His voice breaks with it. His tears well up, slipping free no matter how tightly he bites his lip.
“I love you too. And I’m asking you not to go.”
