She reached forward to squeeze his hand lightly. “I'll see you soon.” With that, she went back the way she came, jumping the fence once more. “By the way, don't go to the cottage. The surprise will be outside.” Kaltenecker, who had followed her since she started to leave, lowed at her. “Hey there, sweet girl,” Leah said as she used both hands to lovingly scratch under her chin.

Summary
Lance tries to go about his day. But the depression sinks in as the day goes on, feeling like he could disappear and no one would notice. At least he has the animals...
One shot written for Day 28 of Julance 2025 - Prompt: Birthday
--
“You're up early,” Takakura said as he made his rounds before heading off.
“Yeah, started my birthday with some nightmares. It's great,” Lance halfheartedly joked. He straightened up, expecting a chat with the man. Takakura wasn't the greatest conversationalist, but he always gave his attention.
But Takakura just walked away. No birthday wishes. Not a wave. None of his dismissive grunts. Nothing in the way of literally any sort of acknowledgment.

Summary
Lance’s posture has gone from somewhat respectable to bad to worse, and his attention span is slowly but surely reaching its breaking point, when the door in the back of the room slides open.
Blue and gray and black. Long, dark hair. A familiar set of eyes. The same faded scar carved along his cheek.
Lance jerks upright, nearly jumping out of his chair.
“I’m filling in for Kolivan.”
The words strike right through Lance’s sternum. And he didn’t even have his defenses up. He didn’t have time to prepare.
Although somewhere deep down, he knows that no time in the world could’ve prepared him for seeing Keith again.
or: Being stuck with his ex at a diplomatic conference for a solid month is super cool and very fun. Because Lance is over him. Obviously. He so is.

Summary
If anyone had told Lance that at nineteen, he’d be forced to make the difficult decision to give up going to college in favor of working three jobs to financially support his family, he wouldn’t have believed them in a million years. Even if they’d tried to tell him six months ago, the response would have remained the same. Independence was something he’d clawed out for himself as an omega in an alpha’s world; the second he’d been old enough to get a job to pay for his own things, he’d leapt at the chance, buying his first cell phone and paying for a plan out of his own pocket. The other part of it was an effort to lighten the financial load on his mother; being a single omega mother to three children wasn’t easy, which was a huge reason he was doing what he was.
Or:
Everything crumbles under Lance's feet. His life is a whirlwind of past trauma left untreated and new beginnings. Will Lance be able to navigate learning to trust again? Will his life ever bring more than pain?

Summary
“Pidge who is this guy?” Keith asks.
“I’m Lance,” Lance responds annoyed and the two glare at each other for a bit.
“You can cut the tension with a knife - so Keith why don’t you tell Lance about how you’re not an imperialist fire child who wants to watch the world burn? I’m sure that will ease a lot of Lance’s worries.”
“I’m not worried, I can take him. I’m more worried about why you hang around this guy Pidge,” Lance spits out and pretends not to notice Keith visibly rolling his eyes.
OR
A story following Lance as he moves to Republic City and learns about the world along with his buddies that will become his lifelong friends. He will have to learn how to get along with a firebender of all people but that’s only the start…

Summary
Keith has never been so nervous--not while fighting the Galra, and certainly not while flying a massive metal lion--than he is to meet Lance's family. It's stupid, he thinks, being afraid of a room full of people his boyfriend adores, but he's better suited for fighting, which is why he's glad he's only staying two weeks.
Lance is wrong three times: he thought returning home would be easy, he thought Keith had the same plans as him, and he thought he was done with the war.
Or: when Allura dies, they don't get to say goodbye. Grief, Altean marks, and all that follows.
NOTE: This fic was originally posted under a different username. This is still the same author!

Summary
The war is over. Everyone has found their place in the Universe. Hunk and Pidge are working on cool projects to help the Blades and Garrison explore and help various races throughout the galaxies, Allura and Coran are building New Altea, and Keith is working with the Blades to restore balance to planets still infested with Galra rebels. But one year after they've ended the fight against the tyranical empire, Lance goes missing. With a gut instinct guiding him, Keith heads into the desert to his forgotten shack—an old hideout where Lance once joked he could escape everything. Together they brave the realities of their new lives and help each other realize they are not their traumas.
Aka a little fix it fic with all the gays and plenty of hurt and comfort because this shit got heavy for a kids show.

Summary
Lance ran long before he ever flew.
Before the Garrison, before Voltron, before saving galaxies — he was just a boy from Cuba trying to escape a life that kept clipping his wings.
A rooftop dreamer with salt in his lungs and stars in his eyes, Lance believed he could make it out. But the night he got into the Garrison, the sky fell. His father’s fists, his mother’s screams, the sound of a life imploding. He didn’t sleep. He didn’t go back inside.
By morning, he was gone.
He left with nothing but a backpack, a crumpled acceptance letter, and a dream that still dared to burn — even when everything else had turned to ash. -

Summary
It went off with a bang. From fighting an enemy who had nothing to do with him, to escaping and following his dreams, Lance is finally going to live his life.
Except for it all to go to shit. Like everything always does.
This time, Lance doesn’t know if he’s going to make it out alive.
And, fuck, dude. What the hell is HE doing up in space?
Or; Lance is a BAMF veteran, and Team Voltron doesn’t know.
…Yet…

Summary
“Coran, what’s happening?” Lance didn’t like how Shiro's voice shook. Was something wrong with the wormhole?
“The integrity of the wormhole has been compromised,” Coran yelled. “We’re breaking down!”
Lance sucked in a breath, eyes wide. Compromised? Breaking down? “What does that mean?!” He asked into the comms.
“It means we have no control where we’re headed!”
Oh no. Oh no no no no no no no.
After narrowly escaping the Galra, a corrupted wormhole leaves Lance stranded on the other side of the galaxy. With no team, no lion, and no idea what to do, Lance must fight for survival and show the universe just who Lance McClain really is.Asterism (noun): a prominent pattern or group of stars, typically having a popular name but smaller than a constellation.
