“Trust me this is way more serious.” Raph tries to bring the younger turtles up to speed, only to be interrupted.
“Booooo! No, you know the rules! No seriousness on Lazy Sundays!” Mikey is a big proprietor of lazy days and makes sure everyone follows the rules of having a stress free day. It works only because it guilts them all to rest, if only so Mikey isn’t stressing about them not resting.
“It’s Thursday Micheal.”
“Yeah but it has the spirit of Lazy Sunday”
“Guys!” Raph’s outburst brings their attention back to him, but their deadpan stares show they still don’t appreciate the seriousness Raph is trying to infringe upon their relaxation.
“Guys, we got a code Sleepy Slider on our hands.” Raph’s voice is grim, his face shadowed with the weight of the situation they find themselves in.
With the code spoken, Donnie and Mikey sit at attention.

The Yokai Slayer rose slowly, breathing heavily. The audience watched with bated breath—Leo watched with bated breath.
He slipped the mask down under his chin, revealing fur tinted black around his nose.
The rabbit raised his sword high in a fist pump, and exploding doesn’t even begin to describe how wild the yokai in the stands went at his victorious grin.

“Who…who was that?” he could feel his mouth move and vocal chords buzz, head whipping toward Big Mama, who seemed entirely too amused.
“Our newest potential champion. Impressive, isn’t he? His looks are deceiving, I admit it! But Karasu-Tengu trained him well,” she mused.
“Usagi Yuichi is not one to be trifled with,” Big Mama said with that unsettling smile, “There is a reason why he is the Yokai Slayer, after all,”

Restricting food, having that self-control is something Mikey can finally hold on to because yeah he didn’t ask to be a super soldier, fighting in a war him and his brothers have no part in, or feeling so much pain from the brother you love and cherish get taken away from you that making a magical portal that tears into flesh doesn’t hurt nearly as much.
OR,
Mikey develops an eating disorder after the movie but he is completely in denial about it. And would much rather take care of his brothers than himself.

Is it self-harm to ignore your body crying out that it needs medical attention? Leo doesn't think so. It's fine, it's normal even - for them anyways. It's not like they were Raph, they knew their own limits and they were sure they were fine. Just the life of the leader in blue, they dont want to be dramatic over nothing. By eight thirty the lair was running on generator power and Donnie’s ears were ringing so loud he couldn’t even hear the baritone of the motor thrumming out in the open sewers. Note vibrating on the handle because no twin had returned home to rip it off with a roll of his brown eyes before depositing the original propane tank nearby. Donnie couldn’t hear Mikey’s voice as he asked about Leo, he couldn’t feel Raph’s hand as they brought him into the lair to warm up his frozen fingers.
Someone else moved Donnie’s mouth and made his vocal cords vibrate into the open air of their home. Someone else stood in the doorway of their father’s room begging their dad to get out of bed because Leo was missing. Someone else felt the world caving in because all the things that were supposed to be unimaginable were happening right now.
As if panic could knock back a respiratory infection Raph and Mikey hooked the TV up with Donnie’s numb help. The weather report was worse than they last knew. That blizzard that was originally projected to hit tomorrow by one in the afternoon would be here at their doorstep much earlier.
