Actually, scratch all of that, Kaito is just pretty. Handsome, too, exquisite, breathtaking, gorgeous, whatever, but… pretty. When he smiles (which happens often) his eyes crinkle and spark and the bridge of his nose gets all wrinkly, and often he’s grinning which means he runs a risk of blinding everyone in the vicinity. Or, just, Shuichi. It’s a serious problem. One minute he’s doing perfectly fine for himself and the next he fell on his face and it’s all because Kaito smiled.
Shuichi props up his elbow on one of the arm rests, laying his chin on his hand and watching Kaito with half-lidded eyes.

The sun. Bright, the source of energy for living life on this world, spreading its life to all around it. Even when it leaves, it’s only inevitable that it will eventually return. Albedo reaches out for the bottle, containing only sediment from that damned experiment that would’ve accidentally killed Aether if he hadn’t been prepared. That would have killed the only warm sun this campsite -- that Albedo -- had ever truly known.
He stares at the strange, pink sediment gathered at the bottom of the bottle, thinking. The moon shows only when the sun has left. What light it emits is only stolen from the sun, reflecting on its surface just a fraction of what it has been given. The moon can try its best, but it will never be the same as the sun, casting its effect on others while trying its best to guide where the sun cannot.
Rolling the spout of the potion bottle between his fingers, Albedo wonders if his own gravitational pull is strong enough to bring Aether back before the end.

There’s an unreadable expression on Aether’s face as he stares back up at Albedo, summoning a silent pause. After a few beats, Aether shifts to sit back up, his back facing Albedo. For a brief moment, the alchemist begins to panic -- was he perhaps a little too truthful? Was Aether disgusted by such a comment and was going to leave -- but his worries are dispelled the moment Aether shifts a second time, turning to face Albedo.
“What is it then, that the universe revolves with?”

Akito blinked, completely and utterly dumbfounded. “What are you even—? Man, I dunno, just… invite ‘em to your house or something. Like for a…for a sleepover or whatever. I dunno…” He grumbled without thinking, rolling his eyes, clearly just throwing something out to try and shoo off this strange cat of a person by any means necessary.
…and Rui’s face immediately lit up, his woeful act dissolving instantly. “Ah, what a wonderful idea, Shinonome! I shall be forever grateful for your service and assistance.” He got up and bowed elegantly, attracting the gazes of confused students.
Akito stared in complete silence for a moment. With that instant change in demeanor, anyone would’ve thought that Rui was cheerful the entire time at this point.
“Jesus Christ…”
Or, Rui looks for advice on how to spend more time with his troupemates. A sleepover might (and, turns out to) be the solution.
